Yes, he completely blocks the path through until his canned animation finishes. I mentioned this in the notes. There's a few other sections where Batman is forced to wait because the hallways are just too small and they can't be jumped over.

As stated in the notes, we take a game over to get our batarangs back so we can use 4 of them for the "stealth" (barrel explosions) segment that comes a few minutes later, +1 to kill Ubu from across the room. Dying, while it takes a few seconds to respawn, is faster than saving the batarangs for a slower Giant Rats fight and is MUCH faster than doing that stealth segment without batarangs blowing up the barrels. WR on both consoles takes multiple deaths in the run in order to get batarangs back (after the Giant Plant fight for example)
We set ourselves up to get killed quickly by leaving us at 2hp in a section with unavoidable damage just past the point on the screen where Batman spawns in.

The current submission page and the youtube description lists "Tremane" as the author, with nymx as the submitted (and author in the YT encode title). This is a mistake I presume? Either way, this movie was good background noise for 3~ minutes. Oil, oil, oil! The gubment needs oil!

Mentioned this in PMs w/ you before I actually saw this post, but for everyone else reading, yes it just slipped my mind and I'll have them written up tomorrow evening.

Just to illustrate the difference in time between this and the RTA WR, which is run on PC. If we take out the very long GC loading screens and all the short PC loading screens, so all we're left with is gameplay, we see that the TAS is faster for a good 5+ minutes.
I also presented it to the (small) True Crime community who were impressed and enjoyed it.

Obviously this is an old TAS and is self-admittedly 'not optimized fully' but I figured I would submit it anyway given the age, how close it is to optimal play anyway and the fact there's no movie for this game on any platform yet. If it gets rejected, it gets rejected, but I doubt (nor would I not blame for them not doing so) anyone else will ever attempt a TAS of this stinker.

Reached out to the WR holder SighAhNide and showed him the run. He was very much impressed and enjoyed it. He also showed me a trick I was unaware of that I missed in the final level but honestly I don't want to touch this thing again. Hope the judge enjoys the movie!

Quantum tunneling, you say? Is this one of those TAS that requires a degree in advanced theoretical mathematics to fully appreciate? What a wild TAS. Yoshi casually walking through walls is a treat.

This TAS is bananas. Great movie,, super entertaining! Thank you for the notes on rolling speed, I never knew it functioned differently like that between the kongs. Also I forgot how disgusting the palette is in this mobile port eugh.

Hi Lars.
Another question: in the ending it seems you press buttons to skip the end cutscenes. Is this really necessary? In Tasvideos.org, we take the last input as movie end so if you could just let them play you could be saving a bunch of frames.

I took some time yesterday to try and shave off a few ending seconds but really it only saved a second~ over the previous time; it just doesn't feel as entertaining as an end movie (no beating up past Cortez, action just a bit less on beat). Not really worth it imo for such a small time improvement. With Lapogne's highly detailed notelist (and that newly discovered skip), this movie is open for improvement for someone who wishes to undertake the challenge. Thank you for picking up the judge spot, hope you enjoy the movie.

I will take some time Friday and see if I can't shave off a few seconds then resubmit a new movie file for whoever decides to claim for judging.
Any news?
My apologies for the delay, I had a convention, debilitating sinus infection/weeklong flu, work stuff and other things going on and it just totally slipped my mind until I hopped back on my laptop. I will get everything updated this evening/tomorrow.
