You could just make an autosave feature.

You know it by now, but Art. I didn't believe TAS could be inspiring, but your shadow temple play was. My only bit of criticism for now: when aiming high up you can use L to start higher. Difference is less than a second, but it's faster.

Sorry I confused GCN's soft reset and N64's soft reset. Is there an input flag for the reset button? What happens internally when you hit the reset button?

Savewarping is allowed. It is not that uncommon for the optimal route to contain several "SAVE + RESET", while there isn't really an option to reset the game (OoT, anyone?). On console, you'd hit the magical key combination for soft reset, after each save, problem solved. On emulator, you try the same, but nothing happens! -_-; This leads to the belief that the magical key combination isn't programmed into the game, but into the hardware. This makes sense, otherwise some rogue games might have tried to use a different key combination. How is it possible, then, that most games handle the soft reset different? Different ending animations, maybe a sound during the reset sequence that other games don't have, etc. My current proposal is that the hardware catches the magical sequence, and instead of sending the regular "key pressed" events to the game, it sends a "reset" event. I hope you're still with me? I'm probably talking a lot of crap right here. I have no idea how the emulators work, how N64 hardware works, what the basic game framework looks like, etc. It's just a hypothesis. I would like to ask the people that do know what's going on the following questions: * Do N64 games work with a message queue, and periodically receive input messages, system messages, and the like from the N64 hardware (to which they respond, and then work on the next message, if there is none, wait for the next)? * Do we know the above? If not, how do we find out? Are there debuggers and blabla available to go hunting for information? * Is it likely that the reset sequence is caught by the N64 hardware, and processed by sending the game a "RESET" message? * How do we locate the message loop, if such a thing exists, and more importantly, how do we send messages to it? If it does have one, the emulator should already be sending the game messages in one way or another, otherwise the game wouldn't be able to respond to input. * How is input information transferred to the game? * How do we find out what message is the "RESET" message? Do we already know? This is mainly guesswork and if someone could fill me in on the details I'd appreciate it very much. I don't know if anyone is working on a soft reset feature for emulators, if there are people working on it, who are you? Leave a message ^.- If there aren't, let's start working on it together right away.

When you become adult? Yes. Um, both? You need to stun him with a bomb (have him eat it), then jumpslash him with a stick and then with a sword.

YautjaElder, could you please post a screenshot of the general area you need to roll into (from memory)? That could greatly reduce the amount of time and luck needed.

Sorry, but what are all the places you use ground jump? Just there? BTW, the WIP desyncs right before the vine. Is it me? Same plugins, same rom, raw data checked...

I don't mean to be a put-down.. TT sorry In most serious starcraft communities it's considered reasonably basic to beat computers 1v7 on first try (usually chosen map is hunters). Reasonably basic means obtain at least a C- rank on http://pgtour.net. Everyone plays of course on Fastest game speed, as this is the speed people learn to play the game at when they first sign in on battle.net (everyone there is impatient lol). When people get used to it playing at slower speeds is extremely frustrating :P (everyone becomes impatient lol). You've got a little bit of "TAS" in starcraft :D playing in single player with black sheep wall (reveal everything), pausing, and slowmotion through the speed control in options. I'd love to play you guys, by the way, I didn't expect to see starcraft here (the pc version, I mean).

Fairy without bombs. http://youtube.com/watch?v=8R9xoj3_PSg http://youtube.com/watch?v=FinbeKWefgQ (oops, forgot the end is a different video) BTW, it's 30 bombs. Not bomchu's. You win the greater bomb bag, and it's filled with 30 bombs. You can't equip bombs because you never got them, but they are equiped by default when you become adult. Voila, a magical 30 free bombs.

I'm still rather new to the TAS route, but I believe the only fights you really need to fight are bossfights or minibosses, you skip the lizalfos or whatever they are called in dodongo, you skip the miniboss in jabujabu, there is no miniboss in deku tree. That leaves 3 bosses for which you need sticks (preserve damage through crouch stabbing, you only need one maximum per area). Then there's child spirit temple. Do you need sticks for it? From the wiki it seems 2, which totals up to 5. 3 from the plants on the way to deku tree, and 2 more in Zora's Domain in a jar you pass right by (are you talking about this one?). Hm, unless you pass it by only once. Are you doing the empy bottle on switch trick? That requires catching a fish, so you have to backtrack after emptying your bottle.
