Communication in this community is broken. I asked two questions and first I got "By the way. You cannot spin this back on me. Considering the history you have is worse than mine.". "was very demotivating to have the thread hijacked when I was occupied" yeah know that feeling, only difference is I got banned and not just reading a comment from a previously banned TASer on the article about staff made bans. It's 100% clear to me now that the staff thinks my case was absolutely justified, making me lose the faith in this community. I don't have anything to comment, keep on doing what you want.

Testing WhiteHat94 zipping trick from Duck Tales 1 (take dmg, stand between enemy and wall and B+D on the ground as soon as invincibillity wears off) Uploaded the published TAS as bk2 here https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638999352935986098 Test 1 zipping fail: Tried on Bermuda between a high wall and a rat with sword. Nothing happened, this game might have fixed the glitch.

Because his post writes down experiences I've also had in this community and because he got banned after writing this on a news article about the staff apologizing. I wouldn't be surprised if the staff is already filled with the same power abuser members I had to communicate with because whatever I wrote was transphobic if it ruins their fantasy world. You can go and check those posts of where I got banned. The fact that I have to spell these speaks volumes of the state of this community.

Quote from OtakuTAS "During the irc days for example Samsara, Spikestuff, and Masterjun used to bully other users. A somewhat more recent incident is that spikestuff purposefully made a low quality encode of one of Happylee’s tases. Speaking of spikestuff they got booted from staff not even a year ago. They tormented users for many years and only now they got booted. Did you know samsara got banned once for her nasty attitude towards a staff member. I’m pretty sure I saw the post where that happened. Don’t be fooled by the fact that she’s a site admin, she hasn’t really changed because last I saw her, she banned a user for criticizing the staff, and not for that users actual offensives. In fact she used that to try and justify the ban and she even mocked him as she did it and said β€œgoodnight my sweet prince” Memory, while I can’t think of any specific examples is from what I’ve heard also a piece of work. Whenever things don’t go their way they just ban you. Some bans are justified yes, but they tend to also ban you when things don’t go their way. In fact trying to have a civil discussion with them sometimes just turns into a chaotic mess." I have Memory example as in my case and I'm pretty sure the Spikestuff incident happened as I voted for "no punishment, make him apologize, continue working". Looking for proofs about how these are not facts (The only case I didn't know is Masterjun bullying). edit: I rather believe this guy than any of the staff members except feos and Masterjun and adelikat.

1. BizHawk 2.11 + NesHawk + ROM tests + published TAS (made on FCEUX 2.2.1 and console verified) Duck Tales (U) https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638999211879456402 - Desyncs at 1st level after falling bridges due to extra lag frames. Changing input can reduce loss to 1 lag frame. If you insert 1 frame (already added in the following movie file) of L after falling bridges, the next desync point is at f14202, a mountain goat giving us lag frames https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638999214913337529 Changing input can reduce loss to 1 lag frame after mountain goat, but desyncs again because of different mountain goat height. Fixing the Y pos of McScrooge to accomodate, desyncs at an ice platform. Duck Tales (U) (Prototype) https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638999215917156503 - Desyncs at 1st level due to lag frame at f1130 - Requires different input at starting the game (S, L, S). Need to check if P2 can press S earlier Duck Tales (J) - Syncs the same as FCEUX 2.2.1, however desyncs at African Mines because of longer japanese text Duck Tales (E) https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638999218285905707 - Desyncs at 1st level 1st enemy, however it loads the game 1+1 (lag) frame faster. - From TCRF: The European version increases Scrooge's movement speed in an attempt to compensate for the lower framerate of 50 Hz televisions. As a side effect of this change, Scrooge can just barely jump over the large gap in the second part of the Amazon without assistance from Launchpad. 2. African Mines zip fail https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638999218829781966 There are only 3 identical places with snails and the zip doesn't happens, no matter the gap between the stair wall and the snail. I assume it's either the size of the enemy or the size of the wall is too small. 3. 1st level rolling boulder + Wall zip fail Tried it but the game doesn't pushes McScrooge inside the wall https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638999286434153940 4. Other parts of the game (past African Mines in japanese and The Himalayas past ice platform on U2 resync) doesn't syncs up, List of remaining potential places for applying the WhiteHat94 zipping glitch to theoritically save time: - The Himalayas 1st mountain goat + gap between us (Probably will get stuck inside the wall because wall is too high) - The Moon moon zip (Probably 10-20 frames slower than current strategy) - And for reminder, Europe version might have a potential if it has a different horizontal speed in scenarios where U/J fails 5. Made a single test on Duck Tales 2 (posted it in it's thread) but seems like the glitch is fixed in that title.

Question 1: - Quote from this news: "Instead what we did was drive TASers away from us." How many years did it took to realize this? Question 2: - Quote from TheAnonymousReaper (ALREADY BANNED) "Whenever things don’t go their way they just ban you. Some bans are justified yes, but they tend to also ban you when things don’t go their way. In fact trying to have a civil discussion with them sometimes just turns into a chaotic mess." I can only laugh that you banned the user after spitting facts. Question, care to elaborate the ban reason? You permanently banned him because he did something bad to another TASer and now it's over? Would really love to see any high ranking staff member finding themselves in the same situation. edit: And I don't even start discussing about how pathetic is to 100% disrupt all communication with no chance to parole because the ban hammer fell on. And getting the one sided discussion email about why it's extremely normal to ban someone who doesn't have the same mental illness / f-cked up world view as the staff member.

Made more tests, succesfully zipped under a block of wall using a Monkey and a wall, which wouldn't work without taking dmg beforehand to get a narrower gap. 1 - WhiteHat94 original zipping movie (uploaded if someone else wants to tinker with it) https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638998439508492645 2 - Level 1 Stone object + Monkey = Fail, couldn't stay in the ground https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638998448744429031 3 - Level 1 Monkey + Wall = Success. Could stay between the ground and the wall and zip over https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638998471873472996 I will rewatch the Duck Tales TAS tonight/tomorrow to understand where could we deploy this trick and write down what I see. One of the most time saving potential place is WhiteHat94 suggestion, going under the African Mines lock and the ground edit: general Duck Tales wall stuck guide: - If you are inside the wall, press the opposite direction you want to zip horizontally. - You can't just jump out of a wall, only if there's enough space. - You can't go downward.

Currently couldn't grab a USA ROM so I can only sync up to the lock in African Mines with Japanese ROM. Will test stuff tomorrow. My assumptions is that this trick could work with different objects or enemies, but it seems like it's not the same zipping as Enemy + McScrooge + Wall situation. Yes I also think that if we could do this on any places (with a bottom room existing) it would save time like in Duck Tales African Mines, and also think this could happen on Duck Tales 2 levels. What I need to test is why is it zipping a little bit differently. In my scenario 3, there is a room below that exists but doesn't zips through the floor. In the TAS, the moon level zip is done with a special wall, not ordinary wall. However the old Duck Tales Moon RTA strategy used a different cluster of walls and it did zip (albeit IIRC it was going through the top and falling to bottom, which again, would have occured with me on scenario 1) I'm suspecting this trick could save some seconds after I figured out the correct factors and how much we can do

Ball and Chain Zip notes with TAS video encode: In order to save time with this trick, we need to know if it's possible to do anything on the bottom of the screen as there is no place in the TAS where we need to go down where these enemies appears. Nice find nonetheless, I guess I try what happens then and report back. The TAS encounters these enemies in 1 level that we visit twice: - the 2nd level 1:41 hitting ball to move past the guy, 1:44 kill, 1:48 kill while moving right and up destination - the 6th level 6:16 hitting ball to move past the guy, 6:19 kill, 6:23 kill while moving right and up destination Glitch: stand between the ball and the guy and do Down + B to zip through the floor. need to take damage before hand to position ourselves there. Place 1: We can't get past the ball and the guy won't come to left side. We can kill him, come back, take damage and do the glitch. I can only zip partially in to the wall above me but spits McScrooges back. Place 2 (video by WhiteHat94): Zip through the floor or inside the floor and left to the ball Place 3: Couldn't replicate it while guy with ball on left side but also couldn't make him come to the right side after spawn. edit: If we go from right to left and do the glitch, McScrooges zips to the left and a little bit under the bomb but unfortunately doesn't fall through the bottom. final edit (will post new comment when I tried and finished test): I guess there could be other objects like the Ice block to pull this glitch off (Down+B between an object and an enemy at the right time coming out of invincibility effect and the enemy starting movement squeezing us in the process) or perhaps two enemies in case they are perfectly at the right spot (standing next to each other with exactly 1 McScrooge gap)

I watched the TAS and it was awesome, really liked the wallgrinding Jerry and the powerup abuse! I have a question about ROM choice (note: haven't TASed/played this game before). Did you try the other ROMs, Japanese and Europe? They sync up to the first room but desync at different points, could potentially save lag frames in multiple rooms TAStudio frame numbers and inputs used as reference. Also this game has invisible lag frames, so the desync points are the "strategy ruining" point of the TAS, not the actual first desync point. Europe ROM: - Insert 1 frame right at the beginning - First input S 136 - Second input S 394 - Desyncs at 2894 bee not getting hit by the pellet Japanese ROM (different cutscene/logo timing): - Delete 3 frames right at the beginning - First input S 131 - Insert 3 frames - Second input S 393 - Desyncs at 2572 gray enemy throws Jerry to left side instead of right side This TAS (U): - First input S 135 - Second input S 393 Here's 3 images showing frame 2557: (edited link) https://imgur.com/a/0uCefOp According to these screenshots, they seems to be slower than USA, but I haven't optimized anything apart from inserting deleting at the start of the game.

Adding new post for the judge: 1. I believe you don't need fast CPU to go through walls judging from the linked video, which starts a windows 95 in safe mode (no other information known. all I can guess is the uploader probably used VirtualBox or something similar to record it): Link to video To make sure, someone should actually try to go through (edit) the walls in the zig-zag rooms (probably easier to go through walls on slope (non 0-90-180-270) angle walls. 2. The gameplay is very short, I don't understand why is it accepted if I already wrote down possible improvements.... 3. Community vetted: 6 players with 15 runs and 23 followers.... I hope this trend of "accept what speedrun.com says" is not used that much, because I saw horrors on that site regarding this. 4. I've forgot the name of the TAS that was probably GC Spiderman inputting a password that erronously plays the credit instead of activating the cheat. It has more gameplay than this TAS.

Voted yes, and I personally prefer mode 1. I just realized that I've misunderstood the game. I've thought you were typing out the name of animals and 2 random keys will show the animal... So if I'm correct, in mode 1, you press 2 keys where the same animal resides? And in mode 2, you need to press 2 keys depending on the depicted animal?

Don't know if these are bugs. If you are only interested in the hong kong bug, avoid step 0 and step 4: Bug 1: Hong Kong publication shows up in search Bug 2: If you are logged out and you are on the error page from whatever page (url bar showing 5756M in this case) and then logging in, you go to page Error. The page Movie #5756 (Hong Kong 97 movie which has been unpublished because of the corpse) shows up in search. 0. Log out 1. Go to searchbar (top right) and type "Hong kong" 2. Click on first Wiki page with the strings "5756M Hong Kong 97'' is a bootleg SNES shoot 'em up and one of the most " 3. You will see the Error page with the url bar saying https://tasvideos.org/5756M Status Code 404 - Not Found 4. Click on login and login, you will be routed to https://tasvideos.org/Error Status Code 200 - OK edit2: you can read the whole text by searching the last known fragments of that page. for example, I'm currently at ". It takes place shortly after Hong Kong's sovereignty is transferred" then searching for this I get " takes place shortly after Hong Kong's sovereignty is transferred from the United Kingdom to the People " and so on.

I'm not interested in joining, I'm just here to write down some opinions and a question. 1 - What are these games? According to the google sheet file there are around 200 games. If I go to any of the linked websites (which are all of the producer's one, d3p.co.jp), all I can see is bunch of japanese characters on a cover art. It would be more incentive and easier to motivate people if there would be at least a single screenshot or a video of the game running. 2 - Japanese language I assume these games are in exclusively japanese language. I would struggle even at the main menu as how to start the game or understanding any in game texts with no proper translation, and I assume the majority of TASers are on the same side.

speedrun.com has many run categories that makes zero sense (a short list: fastest death, fastest crash, fastest sex with everyone...). In this "game", as far as I see: - You spawn in a room - You can walk between rooms - There's two "game ending" textures like the scrolling name of devs and the staff photo. To me, this looks like those TASes (that's not accepted AFAIK) where players input a cheat code OR use the menu to see the ending credits. I understand that it's technically a game, but there is no game ending point nor anything that tracks your gameplay aside from your X,Y (and Z) positions). Regarding the TAS part of the gameplay, I think it's faster to go through the wall (in the zigzag platform room) and just move the cursor to the wall (the same textures are visible from outside the map boundaries from the left side. From the right side, the scrolling texture is not visible.) edit: YouTube link showing the walking over the walls and showing the textures from the outside. timestamp 133 (2:13) https://youtu.be/kK0M74E8PS4?t=133 edit2: oh, there's actually a developer hint in the comments of the linked video:
Walking around scary places with big drops can be incredibly challenging. If only there were some key you could hold down to modify your movement and keep you from falling... πŸ€” I struggled to get across so I'm pretty sure such a key exists...
edit3: you can easily go through the walls from the starting room without using the excelkfa or whatever code. I'm running it on Windows 10 so it's way too fast for me to see where is the exact angle I've just clipped through. All I did is hold down forward and rotate left and right.

I'm unsure about this classified as a speedrunnable game Isn't the credits texture always scrolling? Like there is no code checking where you are, unlocking the ending or giving you a reward. You just have the ability to walk around. I also think that the front credits (walking forward as soon as you spawn up the stairs) is the same as the background credits. The only difference is the staff photo in the other room.

Already existing TAS based shows on YouTube I'm aware of: Any TASes being explained: - Bismuth https://www.youtube.com/@Bismuth9 - Abyssoft https://www.youtube.com/@Abyssoft Latest TASes: - The japanese nicovideo weekly/monthly TAS compilations (they still running that show, right?) Inactive shows: - That french show which also interviewed french TASers - TAS Rats: reacting to TASes https://www.youtube.com/@AmbassadorFoxx - another TAS reacting channel I've forgot their name. they reacted to some of my NES TASes for sure but can't find it now. Well, I'm not sure what is the goal (what audience are you catering for? giving entertainment? calling for new TASers?), but I guess I would like to hear about TASVideos dramas, interview with TAS legends and getting a monthly pack of latest TASes and TASVideos stuffs in general.

Thank you for the informations and answers tigrou! The video is awesome! I was already about to somehow set up libTAS or atleast DOSBox to tinker with your room-viewer tool. Don't know why but I have the urge to check out what does the game offers in a TASing POV (gotta do something with playing it as a kid and being terrified before every single room transitions). Already bookmarked the anti-copyright booklet and gathered the resources to tinker with is there any save game / load game error to abuse and to check how optimized this TAS. I never used libTAS nor had luck with setting up the TAS environment for DOS TASing so I don't want anyone to expect anything from me in the near future, but I will definitely write down whatever findings when I'm about to do it.
