I stumbled across this video today. At the very least, it looks like it might save some time in the underground maze since it means we don't have to get the strong wire.

Why did you keep getting off and on the bike in Seafloor Cavern? Edit: Just realised, acceleration is slower on bike. (I might have other questions, but I'll ask them as I see something noteworthy.) So far, the run seems excellent.

@ Sword: I have managed to stand on the very edge of the right hand side of the end of level warp before (accidentally) so I believe it should be possible on a real console, but just incredibly difficult.

Apologies for this bump, but -hopefully- I should be starting my 100%(non-TAS) run soon. I have one question though that I thought that users on this forum would be able to answer. Do FMVs add to the in-game timer? I imagine that some searching through the code in some way might be able to reveal this (obviously, I don't know the specifics, hence why I can't do this myself). Also, as an aside: the final evil pig can use the other evil pigs' magic, but this occurs very infrequently. Although in no way a priority, could anyone look into what causes this?

Crouch next the the object, facing away from it. Hold square, then turn to face the abject, then face away and repeat =) However, you can only do this so many times and the game tends to crash when you use an object that you've obtained this way (at least for me, anyway...)

Hmm, his sig says "good ending" which demands at least 50 mudokons to be saved. However, every other test run I've seen (as in by antd and fusionbly) have always been low% and no mudokon saving sections have been optimised. Saving only the required number of mudokons (that is, one, unless some glitch is found) might make for a less stress-inducing TAS.

I was actually going to complete a 100% run in the summer (hopefully, anyway...) Also, pump rocks are the things you call "green springy things" :p

You need to clear them all to get 130/130n quests on the final screen. This route doesn't include collecting stuff like health pick-ups because 100% is already well-defined.

When you say you'd be one set of wings short, have you not included the two that are in front of the fountain in charity square which, iirc, were not collected in the any%. Also, just waiting for reply from SDA runner regarding the route. I think the haunted mansion route might need changing, considering you improved the any% route (although it is slightly different anyway).

Yeah, I'll message the guy and see if he's fine with it (considering he wrote the entirety of the initial route, and I've made some minor alterations since) then I'll post the whole route. Also, regarding the demo think: yeah, that's basically what happened =P I know loads of people who really enjoyed the demo and never bought it, but refuse to buy it now because it's so expensive, because no one bought it!

I find it strange that the person who made such an accomplished TAS has never really played the game before =/ Anyway, Red + Blue involves making Tombi sad, going to the very left side of Charity Square and entering the leaf slider. This leads you back to mushroom forest, with you collecting blue powder on the way. In mushroom forest, you have to use this on one of the enemy mushrooms, which you then throw into another mushroom, spawning a brown mushroom which, when jumped on, completes the quest, turning you black and white and making you run faster (it might be useful to search for some speed values). I'm not sure how long this takes, or how much time it would save =/ But in the 100% route, it should be done as soon as possible. Anyway, I have a 100% route (courtesy of the SDA runner, but with some of my own alterations after a few test runs) which I could send you, if you want?

Would this save time, or does it not, say, boost animal dash?
I discussed this with the SDA runner. We came to the conclusion that the speed boost wasn't worth the time taken to complete Red + Blue = ?, considering you need to get sad, enter the leaf slider and then complete the quest. @ carboard: would you ever consider a 100% TAS? I did an unassisted one on PAL in 1:24 (in-game timer) on the PAL version, so equivalent to 1:10 on the NTSC version, for what it's worth.[/quote]

Hmm, in the SDA run he gets it to work on the NTSC version, so it's not just PAL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDUVbl7EsRg at around 3:00).

I randomly forgot about the fact that laughing or crying means you can't use weapons =p Also, I meant to ask this: do you know what may cause the Real Evil Pig to use attacks from the other evil pigs. I've had it happen to me about three times, but I wasn't sure what caused it =/ Edit: I just checked, and you don't have to speak to Charles first. You can just give him the bananas straight away =/

Now that I can finally watch it, a couple of things: - For Charles at the start, do you actually need to talk to him before giving him bananas? I thought you didn't have to, but I might be wrong. - Mushroom Forest glitch was surprising - Was getting the healing mushroom actually necessary? - Nice Haunted Mansion route =) - Wow bunk flowers - Learning to dive looked awesome and was quicker to boot. - I never knew you could jump back on a pig boss whilst it recovers after throwing it into the ground. - Could you not avoid collecting the raft? Does it not make subsequent menu navigation *slightly* slower? - Real Evil Pig was super fast. Overall, really good TAS =)
