There is more to this whole story. I wanted to take baby steps in 2017, but I can't even do that. I have tried to ignore this, but my parents want me to move out pretty much as soon as possible. I'm alone in this world. Everyone abandons me. Even my parents. My sister.

So after months of waiting, the kindergarten now allows me to come two days a week, which seems to be way better. The past week I was really happy to see the children again, some of them missed me a lot. There is another kindergarten that invited me. And I might pick up babysitting jobs and start going to driving school (second attempt). You'd think things would be looking up. But I still feel troubled. When I go to that kindergarten, I always see photos from events I missed out on, ice-skating, a visit to a baker, etc. I still have all the reason to just stop going there. After all, communication failed so hard and there is little empathy. I came there to start a voluntary year (FSJ) and now someone else is doing it while I'm at home most of the time for reasons I don't understand to this day. But I can't leave. I feel attached to the children. It would break me if I can't see them anymore. I don't know how to let go. I don't want to let go. I started a habit of going in the bathroom, sitting down in a hot shower and just crying there while thinking about the past year. The past year had a lot of people leaving me behind for all stupid reasons. I got my hopes up for a lot of things and they all failed. I'm going to have to try a third therapist.

There have definitely been cases where I abandoned games because it felt like frustrating work. The most serious case probably being Kirby Super Star. In other cases I simply lost all interest and started working on something else, which seems to be a common trait of mine.. If it's not enjoyable, don't do it.

I was actually always under the impression that enemy spawns play a certain role in the outcome of the glitch. Back when I made the first two TASes in this category, I found myself in situations where the credits warp didn't work at all unless I went back to redo the previous room. I guess this plays into what you mean with, the game executes bogus code before finally landing in the credits routine. The enemy spawns have an influence on the bogus code and may prevent execution from entering the credits routine. Not sure if this info is useful.

avisynth is
avisource("gba-clip.avi")
pointresize(last.width*8,last.height*8)
trim(2000,2200)
I just tried again:
x264 --qp 10 -b 0 --ref 16 --keyint infinite --colorprim bt709 --transfer bt709
and it's again 0.6 MB.

Your suggestion:
x264 --qp 10 -b 0 --ref 16 --keyint infinite --colorprim bt709 --transfer bt709
*8 pointresize -- 0.6 MB Previous method:
x264 --qp 10 -b 0 --ref 16 --bframes 6 --keyint 1000 --colorprim bt709 --transfer bt709 --output-csp rgb
*8 pointresize -- 0.34 MB I went ahead and encoded the full thing overnight with the previous method. Well it's still at 90% but it looks like it's going to be 2 GB, which is ok. I think for my purposes, this is good. If you can help bring it down further, feel free to make more suggestions. But otherwise, 2 GB is acceptable too. Thanks again

I adjusted my settings to include your suggestions, but it increased the file size to 0.6 MB. I can't really tell if it means anything; the 200 frames segment is relatively low-motion. Thank you!

What demo screen?? It doesn't do anything on the title screen or the pre-level score board screen. And on the dialogue before level 1, pressing A is sufficient. Which screen is this page talking about?

I actually have tried your *8 technique, but for some reason I scrapped it. Can't remember why. 200 frame long section: Using
x264 --crf 0 --ref 16 --bframes 6 --keyint 1000 --colorprim bt709 --transfer bt709 --output-csp rgb
*5 pointresize, lanczos(1080,720) -- 4.3 MB *5 pointresize -- 1.6 MB *8 pointresize, lanczos(1080,720)-- 4.5 MB *8 pointresize -- 1.1 MB Using
x264 --crf 33 --ref 16 --bframes 6 --keyint 1000 --colorprim bt709 --transfer bt709 --output-csp rgb
*8 pointresize -- 0.41 MB Using
x264 --qp 10 -b 0 --ref 16 --bframes 6 --keyint 1000 --colorprim bt709 --transfer bt709 --output-csp rgb
*8 pointresize -- 0.34 MB --crf 33 seems slower than --qp 10 -b 0 and probably comes with more quality loss. So the latter seems best so far. If you have any further suggestions to change the x264 settings, let me know. Thanks!

Someone commented on my video a new glitch. I have gotten it to work once right off the bat, but wasn't recording. Then didn't get it to work anymore for 30 minutes... I jumped on the 2nd set of pedals with Luigi leading. And Mario ended up falling off after two jumps or so.

so onto the glitch. the Bike Pads in Bowser's Castle is where i stumbled across this glitch, completely on accident. for some reason, while trying to do the parkour, one of my brothers fell off into the lava. The lava did no damage, and just got sunk into the fiery depths. mario fell off the pad as well as i was trying to escape the lava, but it just got me even more stuck, and i had to reset the game!
I got it to work in this place three times but I was never able to record it. When I actually did record it, the file desynced (wut?). I'm interested in the effects that falling off can have in other places. I think if you can successfully interrupt the pedal event, you can walk through walls freely in that room. Not that there are any places where that could be useful but who knows.

Ok I tried this on the 1 hour 30min long video and it came out as a 27 GB file.... (I expected 2 GB at most.) I used this:
pointresize(last.width*5,last.height*5)
lanczosresize(1080,720)
And
x264 --crf 0 --ref 16 --bframes 6 --keyint 1000 --colorprim bt709 --transfer bt709 --output-csp rgb
I then tried with a 200 frame long section -- 4.3 MB I removed the lanczosresize line -- 1.6 MB If my math isn't wrong that would still result in a 10 GB file for the full video. How can I reduce the file size down to 1 or so GB? I guess I'm going to have to use crf 33 or so. I thought a pixel game like gba could be better with crf 0.

Did some research on unused content in this game. This is not necessarily useful for TASing, but more for http://tcrf.net Sorry this is the only place I can think of where to dump this info. Unused "item get" icons: red=Used orange=maybe used Everything else=probably unused, but needs some looking into WRAM $0A79, ID of item sprite you are about to get. 00 - Mushroom 01 - Nut (?) 02 - Clam (green color?) 03 - Clam (blue color, open?) 04 - Berries 05 - Torch 06 - Fishing Rod 07 - A purple slime (can't identify) 08 - Fish 09 - Clam (blue color, half open) 0A - Kindling 0B - Mustache shaped thing 0C - Thin fish (baked?) 0D - Rock or a ball of mud 0E - Arrow 0F - grass 10 - Bow 11 - Blue closed fruit thing 12 - Open beige clam 13 - Cooked meat 14 - Fish (baked?) 15 - baked small fish 16 - fried egg 17 - Axe 18 - cooked mushroom 19 - tree sap 1A - cooked mushroom 1B - 2 white stones or eggs? 1C - Necklace thing 1D - mask 1E - a sack (of trash?) 1F - Broom 20 - Leaf 21 - Native indian hat with feathers 22 - Jump rope 23 - Whip 24 - Baseball gear 25 - Green necklace thing 26 - Radio 27 - a key 28 - Hammer 29 - another fish 2A - a small fish There are more icons, not sure how to trigger them. (such as the match, knife, etc.) Unused items Please refer to this item list. I'm suspecting of the following to be unused, but I can't be 100% sure. They might or might not appear in some secret corner in a desolate place. Or they might be craft-able. - Some of the caps? (They are given to you based on your gender when doing new game+, I think. I'm not sure if you can get all of them) - Delicacy (some dude on Gamefaqs claimed you can store spoiled fruit to make it turn into a delicacy, but it needs to be looked into) - Full Mushroom, Healing nut, heal grass, vital fruit, full fruit, super vital fruit - these might or might not be in the game. I don't think I saw them in the game back when I planned the ED8 TAS. - Trash - Costume? Unused splash screens Before a splash screen appears, you can edit $0ACE to change ID. Not sure if this method is reliable though. There don't seem to be any unused splash screens. But 0x14 and 0x15 both show a helicopter screen and I'm not sure if both are used.

If I wanted to up a video of a pixel game like gba to youtube and I wanted to have 720p, what would be the best way to go about it? GBA's res is not a multiple of 1280x720. So with what I had been doing up until now, I would just use avisynth pointresize *5 and end up with 1200x800, and have Youtube downsize it. Or I could use a different resize to exactly 1280x720 prior to uploading. Which of the two is better? And if the second option: which avisynth resize would do the job?

I wanted to research unused content and found this thread which helped me change enemy and object IDs. Basicly you can edit object and enemy slots in the ROM to make different things spawn. Unfortunately, I didn't really find any unused content. JP Prototype ROM $0871A5C0 (ROM) - ID of first waddle doo in RR US Version ROM $088B4B50 (ROM) - ID of left area mirror, main hub room
