then you also have to label the rest 70% "Avoids special goals".
Why? Then you would have to tag all non playaround movie "not a play around" or something by that logic.

Also, provide the average percentage of runs that will need this label. It sounds too broad and common to warrant a special category (Aims for fastest time was retired for that reason).
Good luck finding these runs in the sea of moons movies then. To add more on that, I can't provide a percentage. I can just say that finding movies with unusual goals not that easy and is different enough from most of the movies. It's like the playaround tag. It's different.

I think 3-4-5 players should be combined with 2 players and name it "multiplayer". The tags 3-4-5 players combined only have 9 movies as opposed to the 2 players tag with 107 movies. And they don't differ by much. So combining them together won't change anything to the tags itself that mainly mean something like "Play a game with more than one controller".

The objective of the proposed tag would be to ease finding speedruns that has a special goal. Special goals are goals that aren't the classical goals like any% and 100%. Here is a incomplete list of movies that would get the tag. [2676] NES Super Mario Bros. "warpless, walkathon" by Mars608 & HappyLee in 25:19.23 [2653] GB Pokémon: Red Version "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" by MrWint in 1:54:56.62 [2593] Genesis Sonic 3 & Knuckles "Knuckles, ring attack" by TheYogWog in 1:14:55.91 [2467] N64 F-Zero X "Death Race" by Lord Tom in 00:29.55 [1868] SNES Super Mario World "no powerups, maximum exits" by PangaeaPanga in 1:18:23.22 [2916] N64 Mario Party "Mini-Game Island" by Senshin Ichii in 36:11.00 [1500] NES Lunar Pool "no friction" by Bisqwit in 36:48.36 [1713] Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog 3 "Competition" by nitsuja & mmarks in 02:01.05 [2078] SNES Super Metroid "reverse boss order" by Saturn in 46:42.38 [2062] N64 Super Mario 64 "70 stars, no Backwards Long Jump" by Jesus, Kyman, MICKEY_Vis11189, MoltovM, Nahoc, snark, sonicpacker, ToT, CeeSammerZ, coin2884, Eru, Goronem, Mokkori, Nekuran, Nothing693 & pasta in 42:58.52 [2020] N64 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time "All Dungeons, Temples & Ganon Trials" by SwordlessLink in 2:04:45.22 In a few word, they are all categories that aren't any% or 100%. Mothrayas has proposed an another definition: "Everything that isn't vaultable". That definition would include playaround. However, since it already has it own tag. I don't think it should be included since they are a completely different from the others movies. Here are some 2 playaround TASes. [1438] SNES International Superstar Soccer Deluxe "playaround" by Marcokarty in 15:24.38 [1035] SNES Super Mario All-Stars: Super Mario Bros. 3 "playaround" by Genisto in 1:06:46.28 What are people thought on it? Is it a good tag? should playaround be included? EDIT: Removed Pokemon COOP diploma from the list. It was an error on my side.

So I'm trying the 2.0 version. So far I didn't get into major bugs. I just got a couple of minor TAStudio annoyances, all posted on the Github. Props for the team on the update! =)

In terms of Mupen vs Bizhawk, the question boils down to why are we disallowing Mupen. If it's due to encoders not wanting to touch Mupen, then any time an encoder is willing, an exception can be made. However it's not fair to offer a blanket exception, because it's not known up front whether an encoder will be willing, and that is unfair to players. If this is the issue, then a willing encoder can provide an exception after the specific submission, even if in general we disallow the emulator and want to make that clear.
For this, would a mention in the submission rules or something be something to do? Something like: "If you use(d) Mupen64, be sure to find a volunteer to encode your submission. If no one volunteer before or during the submission, big chance the submission would be rejected (or cancelled until someone volunteer?)."

I don't think any rule should be absolutely 100% rigid, imposed completely blindly in an absolutely totalitarian manner, with absolutely no possibility of special exceptions. Certain rules should be stronger than others, for certain, but there ought to always be at least the possibility of granting an exception, if there are good reasons for it. And exceptions should never create precedents.
I agree with this.

I was entertained. Yes vote. I don't think the emulator choice should be an issue. Nicely done Homerfunky! Looking forward to your next project if you have one. :)

Can you please say for this specific game, can "Aims for maximum score" goal fit the vault rules as kind of "full completion"? Or not fit? (Max possible score is finite number.)

You make up the goal and the objectives anyway. Don't let the other decide for yourself. :) One thing to note about shots: higher shots tend to be slow. I would watch a TAS of this, as well as 100% too! =D Good luck in your project.

By memory: Decide how long the segment is. You basically set a simpe goal: Have an adress go <etc> 54 The address are found in the RAM search. If you have 2 identical result. You can break the tie with additional addresses. Then you need to decide about the probabilities of hitting a particular button. Say you need to hold right all the way. Put That one to 100%. That means 100% of the segment it will be pressed. 5% means roughly 5% of the segment this button will be pressed. You also need a saveslot so the bot can return to it.

Someone more familiar with Discord would have to explain any other benefits it has over IRC.
One advantage I do see is the ability to set up some dedicated channel. For example it could have the off topic channel, a TASing help channel, a general TASing channel, emulator developpment or question, etcc. However I must say that I think iIRC is better for this since it's not as dynamic as the speedrunning community. I mean, TASing itself it's a slow process. :P One thing I dislike about discord is the fact that it's really not compact.

Not could, but "can". I recall the game giving you the hammer after the first level even if you don't have it collected. Good luck on this. :) Will follow this.
