You can still upload your movie file to Microstorage (as linked above) and/or encode it and upload it to YouTube for others to watch. Generally, Super Mario Bros. 1 isn't a good game if you want to submit, because the current runs are very much perfected already. If you want to make a submittable TAS, I recommend you find a different game to TAS - such as games that don't have a run on the site yet, or games with old movies that can be improved. Either way, good luck with whatever you'll work on!

I still recommend you don't submit that. The current any% run is already small only.

I've finished watching this. Very well done. I've especially noticed you used some creative solutions to get certain parts; most notably, multiple uses of Argoyle, and the way you collected some disks such as in the Tower of Verdure. Quite impressive.

That was very nice. You should submit it to the site. I don't think there's any (sensible) better way to show off the variety of characters, items and other things in the game. And this one was done really well; it was generally very entertaining to watch. So yeah, I think you should submit it.

I realized that the last attempt of TASing a Dragon Ball Z game didn't really turn out to be very interesting. Then I stumbled upon this game. ...Let's just say that the video probably speaks for itself. Link to video

Sure, the Wire is faster for movement (on a few stages), but I still do not see it making up anywhere near the 1200-1500 frames I need to waste actually getting it first. It's only going to save a few seconds at best, in a couple of stages. (Not all of them, as not all stages have ladders where it can be done) Over the course of the rest of the Robot Master stages, I can see it saving five or maybe ten seconds, if it happens to be significantly faster than regular stair climbing. But I doubt very much that it would save 20 seconds, making up for the time spent collecting it.

Personally I don't really care that much either way or another. But if turning the helmet off costs less than a second (for a hour long movie), you might as well do it so that a little bit more of the screen is used.

Okay, we get it, grassini doesn't like SDR using yet another port of the same game. Big deal, SDR can use whatever version he likes. It's all just about the end result either way. Drop this pointless bickering about it.

Try to see if you can find out what went wrong/what caused the new run to be slower, then see if you can improve upon whatever went wrong. It can only help you improve!

Personally, I found this quite boring. The two players are doing the exact same things or even overlapping each other way too much. Lag or not, it looks like there's much more that can be done with the two player characters, but wasn't - instead, they were just generally walking in sync, posing in sync or standing into each other, so you could barely even notice it was 2-player at all. The end result was very boring as a result. No vote.

Okay, I've got a rather mundane question, but I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere. And I suppose it might be vaguely interesting for speedrun purposes. How much health do(es) Somacula('s forms) have?

So I went to dig some old threads from the time I was away form the forum and I find this one. I decide to look further into it...
Zidanax was a bit of a loner in the real world. I say 'was' because last weekend he chose to end his life
Well, this was posted at 2012-03-05 (year-month-day). However... he was missing since February 25 and his body was only found on April 1.
The post was exactly made on 2012-03-05 04:22:19 (UTC). Presumably the poster is from Oregon (as was zidanax, who he was coworker/classmate of). The majority of Oregon would be at time zone UTC -8 at the time, so in his area, the time he made the post would be 2012-03-04 20:22:19. The fourth of March 2012 was a sunday. The poster mentioned "last weekend", and considering for him it was still weekend at the time, "last weekend" would more than likely refer to the previous weekend, which was February 25th and 26th. Zidanax was considered missing since saturday on the 25th of February, which would be considered "last weekend" at the time of posting. Based on knowledge about zidanax' issues and the fact that he had been missing for 8 days by that point, suicide was a likely conclusion (there may have been other factors unbeknownst to us too). It does all add up.
