Not the first time that would be used to define a 100% category for a game - but I disagree that any of this would count as a precedent either way. Every game is different in what it uses (if anything) to define 100% completion, and in what can be considered to be "worth" counting as full completion or not. In this case I would also lean towards saying that the Mido note is not noteworthy enough to include - if the argument would be that it's a permanently saved "collectable", then all the fixed spawn P-bags should be collected as well. I don't see anything else that would define it as noteworthy.

Aww, that's unfortunate. I'd hoped to be able to see the exact difference in time between my route and the Zero-only route, since it's still only a matter of seconds, but I guess we already know the most important part now (that the Zero-only route is definitely slower).

Replacing submission files is only intended for small changes that won't impact the judgment of a submission. It is not supposed to be used to reverse a submission judgment. Make a new submission instead.

"Barba" is a mistranslation from the original English release; it's supposed to be Volvagia. This was corrected in future releases for GBA and Collector's Edition.

Saber+2 brings the number of hits on Velguarder (Sigma 1 boss) down from 8 to 6. That would be two seconds saved there. However, that requires luck-manipulating for money at the same rate as my run (if not slightly more because you have less stages to do it in), in order to get 2000 before Sigma 1. I don't think it'll change much for Isaz & Sowilo, as Drill Crush does 6 damage to them either way.

He can not (without subscreen weapons or Saber+2), that's why I used X for those stages to begin with. This would add up one second for each of those three bosses. Zero also can't use Ray Claw to cut Launch Octopus' arms (Rising does not have the same effect). This mostly means the fight will have more lag added to it. Since you're not getting X's upgrades (saving money) but also not manipulating RNG for extra money, when are you planning to get Saber+2?

How do you want to categorize the old movie? It can't be glitchless/low-glitch, as even without DelayStageClear it is dominated with zipping and other glitches. The currently published run also was made with the restriction in mind that no stage is skipped outright (i.e. every stage's start routine and end routine is run), so I'm not sure if just banning a specific trick on top of that makes for a sensible enough category.

Really nice to see a movie that showcases all the little things, secrets, and collectables this game has to offer. Making it to 8/8/8 stats without needing to go out of the way for it is a nice achievement as well. Also, thanks for the detailed submission text, it makes the route a lot easier to follow. BizHawk 2.6.1 is now released. This is a required update for all BizHawk 2.6 TAStudio users - there was a TAStudio savestate corruption bug that affected nearly every core. Everyone should upgrade to this release, and delete the savestate history of any projects they are working on (likely the savestates in the project are already corrupted). There is no justification for rating a movie based on animosity against one of the authors. At that point, the rating system being abused as a tool for revenge, not as actually rating the movie on its own merit - this violates the site rules. Historically, significant/extreme abuse of ratings in this way has led to site bans.

Savestates contain a screenshot from when the state was made - this way, when you reload a state, you immediately get to see what the screen looks like without needing to resume emulation. So the savestates contain the crosshair data from when they were made, and when you emulate further from that point, the newly emulated frames will hide the crosshair as it is set to.

Per the first post in this topic, the Recommended for Newcomers flag should not be directly passed on and inherited by other movies, particularly when crossing entirely different games with different goals and scopes. Strongly agreed, the Brawl Subspace TAS deserves a star. The Smash series currently has two starred movies: [3493] N64 Super Smash Bros. "Break the Targets & Board the Platforms" by Isotarge & Mittenz in 08:05.92 and [2505] GC Super Smash Bros. Melee "Adventure Mode" by numerics in 10:23.48. I think a third star is a bit much, and even though Melee is my favorite game in the series (in terms of tech/speed), I think Brawl Subspace can take the Melee Adventure star because, as said, it's a way better adventure mode with way more variety.
