Watch me win! Good thing it's against a CPU since a human would throw a controller under the same circumstances

Thanks Zinfidel for the test encode. Hopefully your settings test worked :P I'm torn with this submission. I'm a lover of picross and the mathematical approach to an optimal path to solve a puzzle is interesting. it would even be interesting to see a TAS input of normal play which would present more "legitimate" gameplay rather than solving a puzzle because you know the solution outside of gameplay. It's kind of boring af though and so I'd say vault material (probably undisputed), but I have to disagree with needing time trial to be published. I'm surprised that there are unique puzzles hidden in there, but when the game doesn't track completion of those puzzles, there's no difference to the game between 100% including or excluding time trials. Is there any difference to us? Well.. I get the feeling that the pseudo random puzzle list would need to be gone through by skipping the non unique puzzles and completing the unique ones. That's not doing any favours to the entertainment value of the run. And to me, that's too high a price in the consideration of needing time trials. It's diminishing returns past the checkmarked levels. It's a tough call for someone else :P I appreciate the effort made to TAS this game though and I'm glad I watched it

What a terrible game that I still have and beat back in the day :P Anything that gets this game done quicker is yes voted by me :P 72 full strength punches though... and you can't get hit anywhere near that many times.... so yeah.. seing a stun lock there bothers me :P

I have a soft spot for Monopoly and the NES version. I approve of finding a glitch although I hate the CPUs offering trades all the damn time so it's good to get back at them :P I voted yes and I would obsolete the acmlm run leaving this and the 4 CPUs run which is still amazing :P

Haha. I'm glad it's not just me who thought about the boss score being something other than 50000 just to peak the interest of the viewer for new Level End glitches, but yeah if it still takes longer :/ On some level, I want to resist the use of the 2P input :P "That's cheating" :P But I'd also look forward to a more ordinary TAS as well without level end glitches :)

Oh yeah. I don't mind the 2nd place finishes, but I prefer the funny driving of the Queen run than the braking of the Knight run. If I can dare make a request, if you do more funny stuff to slow down for the second place, can you hit one of the explosive cars? :P But yeah I appreciate the effort you've put into these runs \o/ (Oh yeah... One interesting way to add entertainment is how Paperboy for NES was done: http://tasvideos.org/749M.html - it had specific objectives for each day. For example, a full three cup run could brake on the each first race to slow down, second race could hit the walls, third race could do TAS timing and just end input, fourth race could hit an explosive car and fifth would get the first place... Just an idea <3)

Given the judgement on this run and that a full run would obsolete the individual cups, I'd hope that's when Master can be used \o/ (Pretty sure Master is unlocked for all cups when completing a cup on Expert so either this or the previous movie for Knight Cup could be the verification movie for the SRAM state)

Looks optimized. Interesting read about the RNG in this game. But I'd still go for Mega Man DOS for the award of weirdest Mega Man version :P

Well I guess I called it a sequence break because you can get all but the Zenithian Sword with the ship so you probably get those first in a normal play. I do like how the TASes don't have time to walk out of the town when a UC is leaving so they leave when you arrive somewhere else after casting Return :P

Ok watched it finally. I see that this has already been accepted for Moons so an upgrade from the Vault status of the previous run (even though categories didn't exist back then :P)! \o/ The things I loved: - the Sword of Decimation is an insane choice and amazing for what a TAS can do. Also of note, Chapter 5 only lets you give commands to the Hero, but thanks to TAS powers, that limitation is nullified - you chose to attack yourself the second round of the Balzack (Chapter 5) fight after killing Ragnar, but didn't get your turn. I suppose parrying or attacking Balzack might have just led you to act first since it would be a couple frames shorter just to mash A through the menu - you get the Full Plate Armour from Keeleon (Chapter 5) as a guaranteed drop and then I think it just serves to gum up your inventory so Taloon can get some items instead of you.. Like the Agility Seed, but I don't remember that being used so I don't know what it was for - the medical herbs to regain HP was funny to see because it became clear that you didn't need it for the boss, it was for the barriers. 15/step at that low level is huge :P - the casino coin bonus from the Endor/Branca tunnel was cool to see in the previous TAS, but I do appreciate the speed gained from not having it - the Chapter 2 party members fight near Kiev was pretty funny. each dies in a single hit, the Hero and Taloon run away :P - you had ten party members at one time! Normally, you get a max of 9 when doing Chapter 5 normally. You can have up to two NPCs as shown in Chapter 3 with Laurent and Strom, but I didn't think you could sequence break and get it that way in Chapter 5 with Panon and Lucia. (Also the submission text says "clever death shortcut after the Keeleon fight", that was after the Esturk fight and then it mentions Keeleon again in the next sentence) I will say that the previous run's final hit was "better" when it was Taloon tripping, but that Merchant Army... Just mows down everything. It makes me wonder if all that stuff was still in the remake. My DWIV cart has all characters at 10M XP because the Mirror Shield ignored spell resistances so I equipped Cristo with it and hung out north of Gottside to get King Metal Slimes to cast Firebane and the Mirror shield would reflect 1/4 spell damage back to them - Cristo being the weakest usually got 30 damage so should always one shot a KMS. They fixed that in the PS1 remake that I know of so now the Mirror Shield knows that KMSes are resistant to that spell and does no damage... But yeah. Makes me wonder what a later DQ game would be like TASed since we only have up to V on here (which I haven't watched..) Overall a great improvement to this run which is old. I hope the grief was worth it and as far as I am concerned, it was. Thanks very much. (I now have to watch that DQ4 FC TAS that was linked earlier..)

Adelikat, I love you. This is my favourite game of all time and your TAS run helped solidify my interest in TASes. I would watch your run at least once a year. I will watch this submission soon and vote, but I'm sure the improvements will mean a yes

Wait for YouTube to stop being a bitch finish processing the temp encode. Finished while I was writing the post. I'm really excited to see this run although I would love to see the Oil Rig stage :P Kudos on having the RTA comparison in the summary as I don't track the real world myself :P We could do with a lot more THPS runs on the site... I mean 100% and any% to round them out. Hopefully using PSX for 1/2 and I would love to say PS2 for >2, but yeah.. Sad that the music was probably turned off in the run for copyright.. Such a huge part of the game. Also wth? Suburbia glitch to keep skating? Skater Island and Tokyo seem sooo short. For whatever reason, you expect the first competition to be short. And I was pretty impressed with even doing Cruise Ship in a single run. I could do some of the earlier stages in 1/2 100% in a run, but it gets harder in later stages, but it looks far too easy here :) Yes please vote.

Hetfield90. I said months ago that I would nominate him and it's hard to believe that it's his first year with how stellar the MMX runs are

Kind of disappointed they didn't use Tom's Diner for the NES music example :P https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom%27s_Diner#The_.22Mother_of_the_mp3.22 Makes me wonder how large the .nes is for that :P

Can't vote due to giving up at Puppy Love 2. Was upset that 1 went for five rounds and not three. Just kills the flow. Never played the game much anyway myself.

I liked it. Voted yes. Now I know a lot more about numbers. Edit: Also, I should run this myself to see if there's any more numbers that crash into the castle. Somehow I found that really funny :P
