We currently do not allow Windows games being TASed via Wine in libTAS. (not like libTAS even supports Wine at all at the present time)
'Note that for future purposes, testing this workflow is still encouraged.' While you couldn't submit a TAS of TGM3 on Wine on LibTAS right now, having a proof of concept TAS would be an excellent way to jumpstart the process of these TASes becoming acceptable. (Maybe start with something easier though?)

Does this TAS hold the record for fastest time between game release and TAS publication?
I would think #6265: juef's NES Nebs 'n Debs in 10:25.39 or #6231: juef's NES Lizard in 18:03.98 would hold that honour.

Back before YouTube was big, I had to use the torrent and download links to put them on my hard drive and watch them later. Nowadays YouTube is too convenient to pass up on, but I imagine the alternate encodes are great for anyone who has a particular favourite TAS, or needs something they can watch later without internet access. (As for fastforwarding, YouTube has playback speed settings and time skip and scrubbing, so it's sufficient for that too! It even has frame advance, it's kind of nuts how good that player is as long as your internet is strong.)

The initial question doesn't specify a specific probability distribution that the random amount of face up/face down cards should satisfy, does that matter or is any distribution ok?

Should the branch for this be like "all levels"?

I suppose one could make the argument that completing a single game would count as completion but I believe that would also be fairly trivial and therefore also unacceptable to Vault.
All the games share the same money count, right? So surely it doesn't matter which game you play, the goal is just to hit the maximum amount of money, which is the end of content/best possible state to reach?

This game was released in November, in 2003. It's another Robotnik's copy, one of the latest copies I would say.
Just to be clear, Mean Bean Machine is a clone of Puyo Pop, rather than the other way around:
International releases The 1992 arcade Puyo Puyo was translated to English with character name changes and minor visual changes to the Harpy (renamed Dark Elf) character's skit.[citation needed] The Game Gear port of the 1992 arcade game, when used in a non-Japanese Game Gear, loads a similar version titled Puzlow Kids; however, the Game Gear version never officially left Japan.[citation needed] Instead of directly translating the Mega Drive version of the 1992 arcade game, Sega decided to replace the Madou Monogatari cast with Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog villains. The resulting game, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, was released in 1993. Nintendo followed suit in 1995, modifying Super Puyo Puyo into Kirby's Avalanche (Kirby's Ghost Trap in Europe). Spectrum HoloByte also released a Puyo Puyo title for Microsoft Windows 3.1 and the Macintosh in August 1995, under the name Qwirks.[9]

Btw. we have encodes for movies that are hard to watch (slowed down, no/less garbled graphics); these could also be made for PC TASes.
Agreed, and this is already done in such cases, e.g. this slowed down Jetpack encode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TscuQxbFwlY

Link to video This is timed as being faster than [2955] Arcade Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo by dwangoAC in 07:08.15, so it sounds like a good opportunity to revisit the TAS.

This sounds pretty easy to solve with a computer program, since the rules are clear and the search space is not that large.

My thoughts are (and they're all Linux games): [3842] Linux Axiom Verge by keylie in 27:44.38 - by the end of the game you're chaining multiple movement abilities at a pace far faster than any human can hope to keep up with. [3809] Linux Mari0 "Portal mappack" by lexikiq, Masterjun in 03:05.23 - you can build up very high speed by flinging yourself through portals, even to the point of clipping through walls simply because you travel too fast. [3841] Linux Order of Twilight by lexikiq in 00:47.23 - teleport spamming moves Twilight far faster than any human can keep up with. (Does repeated teleporting count as fast movement, or does it have to be continuous and differentiable to count as 'speedy'?) [3827] Linux SteamWorld Dig 2 by keylie in 18:11.87 - has several physics glitches that produce absurd speed. re: Towerfall: My understanding is that the physics glitches still produce superhuman amounts of speed even at 60FPS, they just get slightly stronger at high FPSes. keylie produced a chart comparing how fast hyper jumps are at different FPSes here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20479 And it looks like 1000FPS is only ~25% faster than 60FPS.

Very interesting. Maybe it's loading/caching something, causing that operation to be faster later?

Out of curiosity, is this the hardest to encode publication TASVideos has ever dealt with? (maybe SQL query for 'longest time between submission and publication' to find some candidates?)

Hummmm, I never intended this to work on multiple instance like this... TECHNICALLY, I could offer something like an instance switcher, the issue is the only thing I can really get is the different PID from them: it's going to be hard to differentiate them so I don't really know how to do that part. You might have to guess which PID is which Dolphin.
What Visual Studio Debugger does if there's two processes you could attach to is show both processes's PIDs, titles and the date/time they were opened at. That would be enough to differentiate them.

So if I want to compare with old record, I need to run several dolphins at the same time. But this tool can only hook the first emulator. Is there any way to help me hook different dolphin?
There is not unfortunately, I plan to work on this next February, but not sure if I will add the multiple dolphin option. Though, what do you mean comparing with old records? Do you mean while scanning?
I think the idea is, you're TASing a game while having an old TAS open to compare to, and you additionally want X/Y/Z/etc RAM addresses for both to compare (so you can see how much further ahead in the world you are on the same frame for example) but without being able to choose which instance of Dolphin you hook you can't do it.

As long as the input you copy is optimal for both categories, of course. (I remember one time there was a TAS that copied input from a different category, but it wasn't optimal for the new category.)

Specter of Torment getting the star certainly makes sense to me, since it's the most 'refined' and recent iteration on the formula.
