Of the three, the Folio Magi would probably be the easiest for me to find independently since the game tracks up to 9 copies of the same card (I think it stops at 9?), so all I have to do is buy a zillion chocolate frogs and see what addresses respond. If the Folios Bruti and Triplicus follow pokedex rules then the "seen but not scanned" list should be somewhere near the addresses already used for Bruti (Triplicus might be near Magi? But I can probably pin down the range for Triplicus just by bouncing between save states since Merlin and Morgana decks give different starting combos) Ideally I'd just reverse-engineer the in-game overview pages for the three folios but my ASM-fu is not that great. by which I mean it's non-existent.

We have the Folio Bruti addresses; do we have the addresses for the Folio Magi and Folio Triplicus as well? I'd prefer not to duplicate work already done if I can avoid it (I'm putting together a "casual" 100% helper/hud script; everything I need beyond the Folios I can find from simple memory searching) EDIT: actually the folio bruti has two states like pokemon's pokedex, do we have the addresses for "seen but not scanned" as well? Or does it use the same range?

I think my question is, why do you need the dirty SRAM in the first place?

It begins from a savestate, so it should work.

Would movies in the Gruefood Delight be re-evaluated if and when the changes are implemented?

Strange and silly question, but I just combed the thread looking for info on how the Wind Fish's Egg behaves before and after you read the book with the lens and came up with... unclear information. What, exactly, does the game do with the Wind Fish's Egg?

that's too bad. A TASVideos-level TAS of PoFV on Lunatic would be a sight to behold

Just no-miss by itself isn't impossible. Unless you mean to do something else, e.g. maximize kill speed and such. PoFV is a PvP game so you have plenty of opportunity to turn it into a speedrun.
PoFV's final boss fight actually does require you to take a miss (which is part of why C564374 went for 78 minutes - they turned the unwinnable phase into an arbitrarily long playaround), so it's literally impossible to make a perfect "No Miss" by the standards that this community will judge by (to my memory the Touhou community makes an exception for PoFV No Miss specifically)

If the translation patch impacts the replay files, then that's an issue with the translation patch.

You could also upload the replay to Userfiles and ask someone to encode on your behalf

And it's behavior/incidents like that that lend credence to the departing staff members' side of the story in the eyes of the layperson.

That's more likely a ham-handed attempt at enforcing topicalness - the channel policy for project channels like #babane is that they have to stay on-topic for the babane project. Which is not to say that it was a wise move - you don't encourage rational people to stay on your network by shutting down any and all discussion of maybe migrating to other networks.

1) That's not a definitive "we're migrating networks", that's a "hey we're thinking about migrating networks" 2) This thread is also dated today, so I guess there's a causation in the correlation between "making the thread today" and "didn't see people start joining on libera until today"

The reason many of us/them/whatever haven't packed up and moved to libera yet is exactly because they were waiting for you, the channel head, to make a concrete announcement one way or the other, and I presume it will continue to be the case until you do make just such an announcement. Libera still had the same official/unofficial channel distinctions that freenode does and it was a messy situation because nobody wanted to migrate without knowing for certain that they won't have to go through the whole "transfer channel ownership" thing that no less than four channels I've migrated with have had to do.

So when I said +/-127, that's just "the maximum they can be pushed in either direction." +127 is the left arrow key, -127 is the right arrow key. There's no "in-between" without having a literal analog stick.

You need an actual analog stick for sensitivity to matter. Binding the analog directions to arrow keys is still a flat on/off check, so if you're "playing on a keyboard" the analog controls will always be at +/-127. With that said... how do we get better analog sensitivity? I'm playing (a multiworld randomizer) with an analog stick and I have trouble making precise shots with the bow/hookshot/slingshot.

Except that it does. The principal new tech you showcase seems to reduce lag that doesn't really exist on the Konami Collection version. As has already been explained, there's presentational trickery used in the KC version to give the game time to preload the next area, reducing the lag that's present in the main gameplay of the original release. What we're primarily looking for are gameplay improvements that aren't related to lag management.

So it turns out fusion in this game only lets you go two levels above player level, but recruitment lets you go five levels above player level. Unless you specifically want to get a Fusion Accident (which subsequently can't be re-fused) you don't actually benefit from it.

1) We have a thread about this already 2) If you're using ffmpeg anyway, you may as well dump the game video at 1x scale - skipping BizHawk's builtin resizer - and rescale directly in ffmpeg. Which you are doing in the bottom of the post. 3) For the scalar options, it's more useful to pass -1 for 1:1 resizing, or -2 for better compatibility with oddly-sized games. Passing larger numbers creates more distortion (what you have in your ffmpeg command would distort anything that's not 4:3 video)

You should use proper save states instead of the "rewind" key. In fact I believe this is by design, in order to maintain the bulletproofness of the movie system.

wouldn't they be different branches since Route 1 beats the traditional ending of the game while Route 2 skips it?

Depending on what game you're dumping from that may be unavoidable. If the game itself changes display resolutions mid-game - like Final Fantasy 7 does going between Menu and Gameplay - you'll get split video either way. The FFMPEG dumper should be able to handle larger target files than the VFW one - VFW splits at 2G for compatibility reasons as much as anything else.

I would suggest using the FFMPEG dumper for bizhawk, yes. Among the other reasons you'll be given, I have been having issues with the VFW dumper causing Bizhawk to crash outright as of late, and as I can't get it to crash with a dump I can't tell if it's my system, the VFW module, or Bizhawk.
