Unless I'm missing something, in terms of CDs, it only seems to support actual discs (No ISOs). As for the HuCards, they run fine. I don't think it supports rerecording, though. I'll try a Splatterhouse run and find out.

http://www.ouma.jp/ootake/ I'm still configuring it, but it does seem to support recording. Remember: If you're thinking of doing a Dracula-X run, you need to get the Super Arcade Card 3, otherwise it won't work. Happy hunting.

*Sigh* I guess I'll have to just hope Xport re-ports it back to the PC with the recording features.... Thanks anyway.

When I read that a great amount of old Epyx titles were going to be brought to the PS2/PSP/NDS/Wii next year, I was thrilled. But I thought to myself: Do people even remember some of these games? I know some were mentioned in an earlier thread (I plan to do a Jumpman run sometime around Christmas when I have some spare time), but there was no mention of Impossible Mission. Easy to learn, difficult to master.....mainly because everything's randomized (Enemy behavior, item locations, & room order). Nonetheless, I took Version 3b of the Tape image, and attempted a a Time-Attack with Vice64X, an Xbox port of Vice64. It has recording capabilities, but the Xbox itself doesn't have enough memory to sustain recording and rerecording. So I did a mixture of savestates and using my hauppauge PVR-250 (Set at 4,400kbps) to cut out the emu's option screens for saving and loading states. The movie (Part speedrun, part timeattack, it's both and neither at the same time) looks great. For those that are familiar with the game, I managed to collect all the puzzle pieces and save just outside Elvin's inner sanctum in around 14 minutes. There's still the matter of putting together the password, which will probably chew up two or three minutes, but I'm working on improving that. My only question would be this: Would there be a way of verifying whether the movie is acceptable for submission? I'm not really sure where else this would go. I'd appriciate any input that can be offered. Thank you.

Even though it's a little flaky, there's still room for tool-assisted recording potential (although requires serious editing. Probably should keep track of all re-records) thru MAME. I'm currently trying via a modded Xbox with MAMEoX. I mentioned earlier this year that I've completed a simple run (tons of lives lost, Leo, Don, Mike all mapped to one control set, 30 lives each) in 29 minutes. (I also mentioned in the wrong forum {I apologize for that} that I'm having trouble uploading it to archive.org. For some reason the connection keeps getting cut off. Are they forbidding 200+mb files from being ULed?) I'm now attempting a run as Leo with only one life, normal difficulty. The only problem that seems to arise is that after so many loadstates, the audio dies out.

If I only knew how to make a perfect run "entertaining", I'd do a Jumpman run (Putting it up on the fastest run speed would make the game impossible unless there was a way to slow it down, yet record every frame like the Morimoto SMB3 run), along with Jack Attack (23 years later, it's still one of the most simple, yet completely unfair games ever concieved) and both of the Impossible Mission games. But this is an NES forum, so I'll bow out............ .........even though Impossible Mission 2 is also an NES game. ;)

Unfortunately, with no C=64 emu that supports re-recording, the only way I can think of is either using FRAPS with CCS on full-screen, or using a modded Xbox with a C64 emu, and hooking it to a cap card. Neither of which would be considered submittable (At least here, anyway). Question: A few months ago I was recommended to try sending my arcade runs of TMNT, Contra, and Double Dragon 2 to archive.org, unfortunately, I can't get 10% in before my connection is severed. Has anyone had problems with Archive.org lately? Archive.org would probably be the best place to send Commodore/Amiga runs for now.......

I wonder if BitLord operates under the same archetecture as BitComet, as it's getting the same error. I now have a question: Is there a user-friendly client that is capable of seeding a file until the completed file size has been shared?

What is the OGM format? I DLed the file, but neither WMP nor Media Player Cliassic can open it. What's missing here?

So I'm back at square-one: Where can one go to submit arcade runs? I know SDA is out of the question as they have a strict no-emulators policy, but you two are the only places I know. If there's anyplace else, I'm all ears.

In the meantime, could any be submitted? I already have three movies ready to go. Granted, they're not perfect, and leave a lot of room for improvement, but again, I was only looking just to get the ball rolling. So far I have TMNT (3 players) in 28:57, Contra in 10:07, and Double Dragon 2 in 30:00. All on Normal difficulty. All I did was hook a modded Xbox with MAME to my cap card and went to work.

I'm not sure who to go to about this, but I'm wondering if anyone knows where one can submit arcade runs? I'm hoping that I can get the ball rolling on the genre.

I'm pretty sure that the movie files created could be converted after transferring them over to the PC via FTP, and as for the movies themselves........I do have a Hauppauge PVR-250. ;) Unfortunately, I don't think I have the skills to make "entertaining" movies.:-(

I've been doing research on Xbox console emulation for more than a year, and now finally getting my hands on the required hardware, I got around to experimenting with FCE-Ultra, and learned that it allows up to 10 minutes of recording time. Obviously some games wouldn't be possible doing TAs for, but I DID take a try at SMB1. Unfortunately, the movie recording feature is still kinda buggy, as the movie ended after the savestate ended where an alternate began. Eventually, though, these emus will support re-recording, so it leads me to ask: Would Xbox (S)NES/Genesis submissions be accepted, and under what terms? . . . . . . I'll go stand over here now. *Stands in the corner*

I don't remember if I asked this here or not, but what version is that T:AP video from? I HAVE the Absolute Plus ROMs, and the game does NOT offer a Death Mode to practice with. Where did it come from? ----------------EDITED PORTION-------------- Nevermind, finally found Arika's website. Both are different games, didn't realize. *Kicks himself for asking a dumb question*

Super G&G - Probably the most impressive of all the incarnations of this game. Another one we never beat cus we never found the bracelet after warping back to the beginning. I know someone was working on a run of this but never completed it because they couldn't find the bracelet.
It was indeed a masterpiece, but so was Ghouls n' Ghosts for the Genesis. ;) BTW, here's my list: Adv. of Batman & Robin Ballz Batman Battletoads Boogerman Dick Tracy Fatal Labyrinth (Would something like this take ove two hours?) Ghouls n' Ghosts Revenge of Shinobi Spider-Man vs Kingpin Sword of Sodan

One thing to note, the save system was flawed even when I was playing it back in the day on the Sega Channel. Either that, or I just don't know what button selected "Yes" to save, and which button canceled the save.

I don't know if there's any bugs to be exploited here, but I know it's got better visuals and sound. Any takers?

What I don't get is: Those that hate it so much, why are they even coming here? Do these people honestly believe that we'll start thinking "OH! I just realized something! I shouldn't use re-recorders to make a MOVIE!" Did I miss something? I thought this was just us having fun making movies. IMO, it's still just us making movies. Why are the non-believers still hanging around? I don't get it. It's like this in every damn environment with a forum.

Hmmm, maybe disable the music from the Genesis version (If there's an option. I forget) and overdub with the Sega CD music?

When multi-seeding, does it put any kind of strain on the server? I'm still learning about how Torrents work.......

I'd be all for it, seeing as how I never seem to have the proper codecs to view certain movies (Battletoads, Contra 3, etc.......), and others are viewable, but the video leaves some sort of "motion-trails", making it near-impossible to tell what's on the screen (Dragon Warrior, Astyanax, etc). I HAVE the latest DivX codec, and yet it looks as if I'm missing something......

After testing it, I don't think the glitch is in the Sega CD version (Either that, or I'm just not doing it right).......

Thank you. No need, though. I had some friends help me search high and low . Somehow a url came up. Does Vomitron even have a website? Their MP3.com page is gone.
