Actually, I'd say that is a pretty useful trick which probably not many people will think of. I think it'll help immensely in the run.

Ditto man. I've seen how hard you worked on this, and you've done an excellent job. You got my yes vote. Now go out there and win one to be stuck up on the site as your trophy!

I did notice about the luck manipulation, when I used savestates, is that the order of the bombs is predetermined somehow before the round starts. So to manipulate anything, it will probably have to be done the round before. Like, if you need to start with a white bomb in level 21, you'd have to do something to manipulate it in level 20, most likely. I'm not sure how that'd work yet, though. I'm not very good with the hacking stuff and I couldn't figure out how to work it.

It should always be done on the highest difficulty possible, so yeah, I could dig a versus mode run. I really do think that unlike most puzzle games, Round Game could get really interesting. The earlier levels can be played around with, while the later levels can make it look like they're one step away from death at all times (which pretty much you are. I can't even beat level 84. @_@). All you gotta do is mess around with it some.

Well I'm sure someone would be working on N64 emulation then to get Goldeneye to work. I'm not gonna be able to get to work on this right off anyway, so I'm none too concerned about doing so. I wanna do a run of a different game for practice first. It'll help a lot, I think.

I managed to get them all now. I'm gonna watch 'em when I get back home from my internship place tonight.

Well, trying to download them all on the torrent. They're not moving. >_< You have no idea how badly I want to see these. I'm a huge Duke Nukem 3D fan.

Well, everything's sorta slow going with me actually starting the run. I've been low on money and I've been starting work soon, so nay on the N64/PC converter thingy. I am gonna try eBay for it at some point, but I need to make a little money first. I should have about four summer jobs going at the same time, so that shouldn't be a problem. Once I get that, I'm going to take it one level at a time and re-work the level a few times. So basically, I should play this on 00 Agent. Any objections to if I were to play the Aztec and Egyptian levels too? I think you unlock both when you beat the game in 00 Agent, yes?

I do know of one bug for this game, and I had it put up on David Wonn's site a while back. Some enemies have weird hit detection, especially the crocodiles in the sewer, and you can actually crawl right through them. Unfortunately, it has no use in a speed run since they crawl so ridiculously slow.

Wow, I thought you were all long-gone and stuff. Cool to see ya again. Good luck on startin' up the TAS too. Only time I ever saw this game was on Nick Arcade. Let's see what you can pull off 'ere.

I've been looking to rip a couple of sound effects in SPC form as part of a project I'm doing. However, I'm not really sure how to go about ripping the sound effects from the game. Anyone got any suggestions? Once I have the SPCs, I can do what I need to do.

nospoon's suggestion: Get either an n64 -> usb/serial/parallel/game port converter or get a gamepad with at least one analog stick, but don't get a logitech one, mine totally sucks! I think using an analog stick would be MUCH easier than trying to use a keyboard/mouse. PS. I say don't get a logitech one because the D-pad is worthless and its pretty much impossible to press 1 direction, for example usually when I try to push >, it's actually pushing ^> or v>
I don't think you can just go over to Best Buy or Circuit City or something and just get one, can you? Whatever way I have to do it, I'll have to wait until I can come into some cash before I go seriously trying to do this.

How's that, Wouter? Is it laggy and choppy, or is there something else that's weird about it? I actually haven't had a chance to try it out lately. I'm still trying to figure what buttons should go where on the keyboard/mouse. o_o

I'll probably get started by speedrunning like normal, the hell out of the levels normally. Hey, Wouter, got any general tips for that?

If I actually knew how to play around with the N64 emu that does it (I'm only familiar with the NES emu that's here for TAS-ing), I'd totally help you out. Perhaps you could give better guidance than I could to someone who wants to do a TAS, Wouter. You're more qualified than I am to talk of speed run matters. =P Oh, yeah. There is the FAQ here too. Forgot about that. Maybe that could help us both out some? Maybe if I actually get into some free time to fiddle around with the emu and figure out just where to map the buttons on my laptop, I'll give this one a shot. I wouldn't count on me being reliable, though, but I'll do it if no one else does. How's that sound?

If I had any kind of TAS ability, the ability to get an N64 emu to work the way I want it to (ROMs are no problem, though), and a lot of time, I'd totally go for it. I'd kinda like to offer what I can for tips. I need reason to play like hell through the game a bunch of times anyway and become really geeky at it. Being undefeated in multiplayer for three years doesn't help in solo runs. =P

I just did a little clocking on "the-elite.net" site, and did a little math, and came up with the times for each difficulty level as if they were single-segment (Disregarding extra stuff such as going through each mission briefing, and also rounding to the nearest second. All times include the Aztec and Egyptian missions as well.) Agent: 20:18 Secret Agent: 26:11 00 Agent: 30:31 I'm actually very interested in seeing how much more time can be saved by doing these on a TAS. If we can save at least two seconds per level on 00 Agent mode, and I think it's potentially possible (at least on average), I think that a TAS would end up being under half an hour in one single segment. Thoughts?

Yes, Bisqwit, you modest bugger. Why didn't you tell us that we're all being noticed over here on this little corner of the internet, especially on something as big as MTV here? I know it ain't the best of things, but still. It's still cool to know, yo.

I say you shouldn't quit it, Diman. I just think you should try it again using even more tricks. If this one saved only five seconds, imagine what using more tricks can save! C'mon, let's see another attempt from you!

Likewise, even though this is accepted, I saw through the first two levels before something screwballed on the comp. I loved what I saw there, and I can't wait for this thing to be published so I can hopefully watch the whole thing. =D

If you're lookin' for webspace, try using Webpost. It's only 1MB, but it should get the job done for you for the moment. http://www.webpost.net

Actually, if you hit one of those characters in the prison garb (I forget what they're called, it's been forever since I've seen DuckTales), I believe they rob you of a bit of your money too.
