the entropy of the collection would be faster with bigger movies, but even with only small avis, it's still a matter of time. moreover, I feel that this argument isn't quite right, as the community is now promoting RPG movies, from 1 to 2 hours or even more, and that they are encoded without any problem. so why not just a handful of old movies...

does the size problem still exist, now that encoders have found H264 to solve it ? I mean, some recent movies would'nt have an avi without it, so why not older ones ?

I don't intend to spam the forum to reach the limit and then be able to vote. I just vote and post in topics I find interesting, which are both rare. but now, "thanks" to the abusers, I can't do the first one anymore. it seems my votes aren't worth considering anymore, yet I understand the measures taken against abusers. (sorry if it sounds a bit bitter, I support the system though)

it's not possible anymore to vote without downloading the file first. aaa2 is one of the abusers mentioned. Bisqwit banned him from voting : http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2432&highlight=aaa2 just download the submission file before voting, dammit :) //edit I got the file but still can't vote. seems the 100 posts limit theory is true.

didnt watch those movies, but if you're looking for glitches to exploit in fighting games, why not give a look at NKI's "glitch master" website ? http://nki.combovideos.com/ also, the TAS better be perfect, because you can already find numerous fighting games videos done without any tool, and showing very cool combos and glitches... not like I'm trying to discourage you, keep up working :)

you can find speedruns (not TAS AFAIK) of C64 games, including Rick Dangerous 1 & 2 on this site : http://c64-longplays.de.vu/ you'll need a eDonkey client to get the movies. some replays can be found on this fansite : http://www.rickdangerous.co.uk/ especially on this page in the links (divx) : http://rickdangerousforever.free.fr/videos.htm happy watching.

the directory in my hd is called "superplay", for all of those that are assisted (hence the "super"). both timeattack and aesthetical. unassisted means speedrun to me... (yeah I admit it's not clear, since it doesnt count unassisted aesthical movies, but I dont know many...)

Error: Tracker Response Error:Hacked client access denied. in Tracker: http://dehacked.....
flagitious : what I meant was, record a movie for a game, and have enough luck to make it works afterwards with another game. actually, I didnt think about how to record a "bigame movie". maybe synchronize 2 emulators on the same movie file, as mentionned in the topic ? please explain...

idea was tested with the nes pinball game : http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1490 I wonder how a player would make an input sequence work with more than one game, unless total random. play games alternatively ? find close games ? you'd still need to have desynched parts, where the games are too different, and the character would "survive" by luck in the game the input wasnt designed for. tremendous work... and need of LOTS of luck...

Is it considered bad to have a 2 player run that's longer than the 1 player run, even if it's of excellent quality? I'd like to know because I'm doing a Streets of Rage 3 run with 2 players, and it could very well be slower than my 1 player run because of extra enemies with more health (in fact, it's already behind).
maybe this submission should be keeped, if he doesnt manage to produce a faster 2 players run ?

xvid : 26 to 33% h264 : 79 to 91% athlon 1 ghz cpu (yeah, those still run :( ) with media player classic. as for the quality, I dont see any "drastic" difference... could someone explain ? I usually have problem watching any video with 800x600 or more resolution ; typic killing codec is wmv9... so my case might be very special :)

I tried to look at the code, but even though it's easy not to check hash of files, I couldnt find a way to identify complete files from the others. more than that, when I first ran the client, it began a lot of differents files (since it tried to help people looking for them, thanks to priorities and the score system) but never finished most of them. the client just detected that the file was requested, but never checked that I had it already or not, hence filling my hard drive with gigs of unusable incomplete files. I tried to increase (locally) the priorities of those files, but met the same problem : identify from within the client complete/incomplete files. but without having to hash them... I thought of an idea : make a more user-friendly client, that would keep a list of the files => managing a collection. create a nesvideos client that would make 3 categories : complete files, wanted incomplete files, and unwanted files (not everyone would want to download the whole collection). using such a client could encourage people to seed more files ? unfortunately, my programming skills are far too low to begin such a project, so I gave up the idea... and the use of the btfriendly client :( but, maybe someone would want to create one, or might think up a better idea... //edit : sorry for the poor english :)

might be interesting, yes :) more sega games, but then, we'd have to change the name of the site (j/k) ^^ as for the game, it's Golden Axe Warrior. never played it though, but would do a nice timeattack I guess. I just believe that Golvellius has more action and better graphics (character less small...), and that there would be more place for nice stunts and killing.

meka is now open source (check link posted earlier in topic), maybe a coder with enough free time and motivation would want to implement the missing features... cadmus, any news from the emukon author ? as for games I'd like to see : - Psycho Fox (fast paced game) - Golvellius (zelda's equivalent) ought to test them in DrSMS...

We can add rerecord to Ms Paint.
it exists, it's called oekaki. it can be included in a site (oekaki potato) and it can even have chat with it (paint chat), or 2 people drawing the same picture. there are numerous oekakis, I'll just cite one : http://oekakicentral.com/fp/fp1/index2.php to install oekaki (potato): http://www.suteki.nu/journal/index.php maybe the nesvideo community would like to have one :) (sorry I can't draw) movies are played in a java interface. some on oekaki central can be watched without being registered (end of the list). if you have the patience to get an account, I recommand "Mirror Room" pictures/movies, very impressive drawing techniques to get realistic effect.

my favorite game ever, still playing it from times to times 13 years later... it's a very interesting and funny game to play and to watch, worth a try :) when I first heard of recording emulators, I had the idea to do this game (just walkthrough) so I could watch it (I really enjoy the "system" working perfectly)... great skills shown here, you've really made something astonishing with it. the only problem with the movie is that you can't skip the (earlier) boring levels, but with an AVI, the problem would be solved, and I'd definitely support a movie of this great game. keep up the good work ! *crosses fingers so that an avi gets done*
