I'll watch through the run when I have the time. It has given me some motivation to continue my own TAS. I would really like to get my hands on the vbm however. Could someone please ask the runner to share his/her vbm? Also, here's the speedrun made by SD2, completetd in 2:16:21 http://www.filefront.com/15798195/MinishCapSS.mp4/

2:21:28 is rather slow for a TAS. SD2 made a SS run in 2:16:21. I believe this Japanese TAS isn't using the flute glitch, haven't watched far enough to know yet. But one thing he's really lacking, is faster text scrolling. If you simply hold B the text will scroll much faster. Instead, he/she is just pressing A to skip to the next text part. He most likely loses minutes because of this. I should continue my WIP of this. But the movement is too annoying for most of the time, mainly the rolling. If I care to study it awhile, I'll probably manage to do it.

Yeah, I felt kinda bad for that afterwards. It's because I usually don't care about TASes of games I haven't played. I checked the topic like once or twice, but never watched any WIPs of the run. I watched this TAS because I just finished the game a few hours before the run was submitted. So yeah, I'm sorry for not giving any comments on the run during its making.

When looking through the run, it really felt it was rather unoptimised. He sometimes stops a little after he roll, causing him to lose speed, turbo is being used from time to time which may lose a frame here and there. I believe the damage taken to save time didn't even always save time and there were sometimes better places to do so at. After trying to TAS the first level for five minutes, I got into the warp barrel 16 frames faster, still being improveable. Overall, there were a lot of parts I liked about the run. Such as Scramble Blast. But for me, the good parts didn't "overwrite" the parts that weren't as good. I won't vote as now, but it will be probably be a no, otherwise meh.

I was bored the other day, so I started a run of Hero's Cave in the linked Oracle of Seasons run. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/434356227/Hero%27sCaveTAS.vbm It's not too optimised, as I just did it for fun. I'll probably do the same thing with Oracle of Ages as well.

I really didn't expect this much time to be saved when you started the project, probably 2 minutes at very most. But by the find of new stuff, you almost managed to get down to under one hour, that's crazy. I have dedicated my life to this game so I was happy to be of assistance during the making. Great run, obvious yes vote!

The wobbling increases the walking speed by 33% when going left and up. To do it you need to hold either right or up (Depending on which direction you are going) and press left or down every second frame. If you download the SNES9X moviefile from any of the published ALttP TASes and watch it with a SNES9X v1.43 + emulator, you'll be able to see my input presses during the run and learn how to do the stuff that I do. Some other tricks are explained in my submission text both in the glitched run and the full run. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

For a TAS, the timing ends after the final input in the game. For ALttP, that is when the Triforce text ends. Your run does this in five minutes blank. I suggest that you actually watch my TAS first and then try to improve it, using SNES9X instead of ZSNES. http://tasvideos.org/1210M.html

Derakon: Something that should have been mentioned, is that letters can only appear on levels with a hole in the ceiling or the floor, as far as I know. So that's another reason why we don't get EXTEND as often. I didn't use an input configuations like that for levels at least. Not many levels can be done with the same, but reverse, input for both players.

The very first thing I did when joining the project was to improve previous levels. To begin with it the reason was that I found the air-jump at the start of the level. Since then I have kept trying to improve levels that had already been done, making me the official Frame Whore of the run which has made several people annoyed. I had fun working on this at least, even though it has been a pain in the little toe several times. I'm happy that it's finally done at least. I would have voted yes, but I don't like to do that on submissions I have worked on, so I won't. But it's a great run!

I usually pick games that I'm good at in real time. Or at least games that I have played a lot and have proper knowledge about. I don't find it as enjoyable if I play an unknown game and it's easier when you don't need to find tricks and glitches from scracth. So #1 basically. But as of now, I would never want to TAS a 3D game, no matter how good I am at it or how enjoyable it would be. TASing with Mupen is way too slow for what I'm used to while TASing, I need to be quick with my fingers all the time.

I never entered Ropey Rampage and it is explained in the comments if you check Youtube. The same glitch is used in both the published DKC runs.

World 3 I'll just upload the whole smv as well, including most of the following world as well. Here you go. Croctopus Chase will probably be redone using the basically-impossible-to-optimize-glitch. So there will be either an optimized version without it, seen in the movie, or a slighty unoptimized version with it. It will still be faster, but not neccesarly look too good. Oh well.

I gave Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi an attempt using this version. For once the sound effects are at least working as they should be, that's awesome news! On the lower side, it is still not TAS-able. It's still back at the issue with the input I do while recording just happens on random when I replay the movie afterwards... What is it with this game that makes this to happen? There have been many desync issues with the other two Super Star Wars games, but I haven't tried them out as much. I'm tired of not being able to TAS this game :(.

At the start of the first level in Super Demo World, you are 14 frames slower in version 1.51. 1.43 doesn't emulate the speed correctly in all cases, that has (as far as I know) been fixed with 1.51.

You can only get it the "first time" you play the level. Let's say you get the 1up in the first level, if you die it won't appear the next time. You'll have to be game over first in order to get it again.

Beautiful piece of art there. I wasn't even sure that this run was still being worked on. I just thought "No way" when I saw the time. 28 minuets is insanely fast, Thanks for the Christmas present, yes vote.

I took a break when I had crappy manipulation against Moldorm. So meanwhile, I've been TASing other stuff, including helping Swordless with Link's Awakening DX and starting The Minish Cap. But I'll get back to this, no worries.

It should be as simple as it is in VBA and SNES9X... Simply loading the save state in the movie so it rerecords from there, then load the same save state with read only on. And your movie is back.

FCEUX doesn't do it either... It's highly annoying.

Very old glitch that was previously used in the glitched TAS of the SNES version. There are lot of different ways to get out of bounds to go between rooms in the same way. Also, what vba version did you use? Edit: Nm that... Was v21 apparently.
