I created a speed run (not really a TAS) of Tina's Adventure Island. But I think it might of of interest to make into a TAS run. Link to video Download link (from the creator of the game) http://imanok.msxblue.com/games.html - Manual in the download file Some strategies: - If you use the sword (initial weapon) while not jumping you're forced to stand still - The Axe and Fireball allow you to keep on walking - The best transport to get through a level is to buy the roller skates - On the shop screens push space bar to display the text instantly - The Wings allow you to perform double jumps even if you fall down Controls: - Cursor keys - space = a option - graph (left alt) = b option[/video] - Or a joystick with 2 buttons memory locations: - 0xE9BF End boss hit points (counts down to 0 with every hit) - 0xE96E Lives - 0xE961 Player Y location - 0xE962 Player X location - 0xE973 Active Weapon - 0xE9CC Player Vitality Recommended emulator openMSX 0.14.0 with a MSX2+ Panasonic FS-A1WSX

Link to video It's a TAS but far from optimal... my goal was to show the whole game (including all bonus stages) I don't think this will make a great TAS to be honest. Still fun to see how many enemies you can kill and get a high score.

I vote yes because I know this game inside out and still Scrimpeh surprised me with a few really good damage boosts and routes. Excellent work!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KWsP7hO5lU here is a 2 hour walk through which will show the most important parts of the game as well as some tricks (screen swap with enemy without being detected etc) the route is not optimized Annoying TAS preventing parts: 1) follow the green berret through the jungle. 2) hatch the owl egg. 3) freeze the key (loads of backtracking).

Yesterday I wanted to see if it was possible to finish the game within 1 hour and it was. If someone thinks this is a good game to TAS feel free to use this video as a guide/walk through. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhYe0fDtblE

What is this, Kid Belmont? Like most Castlevanias, it'd probably be decent when optimized.

Link to video yes vote from me this time. Excellent run and good use of the power ups, in some areas it looks like Konami expected TAS runs.

In the MSX forum (I'm an admin there) I already made a statement. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11150 "I've given up making a TAS... it's just too time consuming. I will be posting videos with what I believe is the shortest route (without glitch abuse)" I feel better knowing that I leave the TAS-ing up to the people who want to do it. I can help giving hints/tips/feedback on MSX games. It was fun getting a feeling for TAS-ing and it helped me developing some ideas/tools to help out with the openMSX TAS tools.

Please stop "tasing" this "game". edit: Also it worths mention that you think that your submissions rejected JUST BECAUSE it's played on MSX (according to your many posts and unrelevant/out-of-question sentences and troll smileys and other things). Now here's the truth: of course it's not the case. The problem is the insanely huge repetitiveness of the game and it's absolutely shows nothing compared to a simple unassisted speedrun. TASVideos has high standards, both for quality and entertainment, and this movie didn't qualified. This has NOTHING to do with the MSX console.
MESHUGGAH I like how you twist the truth and connect dots by adding a few of your own. The meme i posted above was a reply on the meme before that and was made in good fun and has nothing to do with trolling... as a matter of fact... I think your behavior displayed above is more trolling then I will do on this forum. I respect the decision of the judge.

it's incredible to see a lack of replies why this should be voted no or meh. The penguin has a very limited amount of moves - forward - left - right - jump

I can't decide that you just simply joking or you make a very good job at sarcasm. Anyway, I voted meh mostly because of bad game choice and lack of entertainment.

I used reverse 106 times and pushed the space bar a lot of times... also the cursors came in handy to avoid stuff or pick stuff up. The goal was reached in the fastest time possible while trying to make game play entertaining. The mute button also came in handy.
