So nothing ever came of this? I'm curious that he never did end up posting the source for his work, or that no one contacted him about how he managed PS2 rerecording? That seems like a fairly major development but I haven't seen so much as a peep or comment on it since I first saw the videos 5 months ago. :(

Well, for my part, recording from SRAM doesn't work. If I attempt to, nothing will happen. I select the .dsv file and check off 'Start from SRAM', but hitting 'OK' does nothing. It doesn't even register, just stays on the little 'Record Movie' window.
Because you didnt specify a dsm file to record to .........
Yeah, I'm an idiot.

Other than that issue everything seems to run much smoother and faster, and rerecording is flawless so far, so great job with the new build.

Damn. Well, it would invalidate anything official until further work is done on the emulator, but I suppose for personal videos and testing the waters a recording could be started from scratch, quickly worked through until hard mode is unlocked, and then play around from there.

I'm having issues with recording that are probably stemming from a lack of technical knowledge more than an emulation flaw. Now, I want to experiment some with Mega Man ZX, specifically on hard mode. For anyone familiar with it, you need to have cleared the game once on normal to select it. I already realize the emulator is currently unable to record from a snapshot, that's not really a problem. My issue is that starting a recording doesn't just reset the game, it resets EVERYTHING, including any prior data from the game's .sav file. No matter how I attempt to work around it, I can't record anything in Hard Mode... or really with any progress whatsoever into the game itself. It will always record as if the game had been completely untouched, with only 'New Game' available. It ignores, and in fact irreversibly modified, the .sav file by wiping the data. I tried to get cute and record with a prior save state in place, by recording from scratch then loading the state, which predictably enough completely desynched the recording altogether. I'm not really sure if there's a root to what's going on here or if it's simply that my options are too limited to do this right now. I've browsed around the emulator's site but the rerecording issue rarely seems to come up, and definitely not my particular problem with it. Anyone have some imput for me, maybe?
