I really enjoyed this TAS because it's fast-paced, looks optimized and features great glitches, unexpected routes, cool playarounds and clever health management throughout. That's why I think it clearly belongs to the Moons tier.

This is the best NES TAS I have watched in a while. Seeing a perfect game for TASing like this optimized even further was great. The death abuse at the last boss would make for a good publication screenshot. Now all I need is more Run Saber. :P

What did Randil complete faster than you years ago? The first stage of that NES game you started TASing recently.

The front page should remain mostly as is, except there should be a large New to Tasvideos? Click here at the top, which will lead to the newcomer's greeting area.
You mean like this?

I really think now that we're accepting runs from all games that can have a speedrun, we should have game specific pages. The pages could feature a short blurb about the game in question. After that it gives the fastest time the game has been completed, then fastest 100% time (if applicable), then lists other notable runs (playarounds, pacifist, different characters, glitch avoidance). For example, the Super Metroid page would look like this: Optional: A description of the game in question. Fastest time [1978] SNES Super Metroid "X-Ray glitch" by Cpadolf in 21:25.12 Fastest 100% [1195] SNES Super Metroid "100%" by Cpadolf in 1:08:10.87 Other notable runs: [1368] SNES Super Metroid by Taco, Kriole in 38:41.52 No xray beam glitch [1908] SNES Super Metroid "ingame time" by Saturn in 39:15.30 [2078] SNES Super Metroid "reverse boss order" by Saturn in 46:42.38
That concept has been in the works for months now. You can check progress in a recent post in this very thread.

- Allow rating on submissions. Don't show these numbers to judges until the movie is published, to avoid inflation of ratings (which happened last time). - Put rating buttons directly on the movie listings, so you don't need to click the link for the rating button on every movie you want to rate.
These are great ideas.

Because of this, more ratings would only provide significantly more player points up to a certain number of ratings that is representative (10-15?).
If GMan's method isn't implemented, I think ten would be more than enough.

For example, people subscribed to the TASVideosChannel will see all movies in their feed, without being able to tell which tier they are in. (This is maybe not that easy to fix. An extra channel could be used for Vault movies, but then it would be hard to move movies between channels.)
To avoid that problem, all Vault movies uploaded to TASVideosChannel could include a "[Vault]" tag at the beginning of the title and an explanation in the description clarifying what the Vault is about.

I noticed there are several movies with speed/entertainment trade-offs in the Vault. Given the current concept of the Vault, that is contradictory. I can think of two possible solutions to this problem: either creating a new tier (Miscellanea?) for these dull speedruns with speed/entertainment trade-offs (which could also be used for concept demos and playarounds) or unpublishing them.
And it definitely does not make sense to create a tier for a type of movie we apparently do not want more of.
It looks like you missed the parts in brackets. Several people have suggested creating a new tier for published movies that don't belong to any of the three we currently have, and I was saying dull speedruns with speed/entertainment trade-offs would fit in such tier just fine. In case you missed it as well, adelikat said in a previous post he is considering creating a new tier in the near future, so my suggestion makes a lot of sense.

Opening this up to re-judging. I personally would like even the Vault to have higher standards than this game. But where's the line? And how would I define it as such?
"A TAS of the game must be distinguished enough from a real-time speedrun".

This is so much better than your first submission for this category. Well done! Egg Rocket Zone's route is one of the coolest things I have seen in a TAS. Speaking of Egg Rocket Zone; I have managed to improve the end by a few frames. I also have some ideas to improve Cosmic Angel Zone which I will share with you whenever I see you on IRC. I suggest this screenshot (frame 37242):

Can we put something else? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. I mean, given your behavior in this very topic, that would surely be an efficient way to prevent you from having an unsuccessful life. Reading this topic was a waste of time, but at least it proves Aktan is just too strong.

Great damage-boosts! That's what I enjoyed the most. I didn't expect this game to be so long. Is Lomax your next project? :P

Very nice. I have managed to improve the first act of Secret Base Zone by 0.5 seconds using an extra punch and a different route near the end. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/264633401/SecretBaseZoneAct1In34.37.vbm

Didn't the run of this game that aimed for fastest time get cancelled due to negative viewer response?
That was a while ago, and the audience has changed since. The best proof of this are these two recently published (within the last sixteen months) movies of Tony Hawk games in which Nahoc aimed for the fastest time. I, for one, look forward to the submission. :)

Impressive. I'm glad to see my suggestion of punching to reach the last booster of the first act was useful. I have a couple ideas that may save some time, though: In the first act, try performing a spin dash on the platform with the second checkpoint instead of going down and doing it on the ground. In the second act, try jumping from the first loop's top left arc.

Awesome! I can't believe people are still discovering new clever tricks for this game after all these years of continuous breakage.

Very nice run of a game I think pushes the Game Boy Advance to its limits. You pull several awesome combos that made me enjoy this TAS.

I'm glad the glitch I discovered while TASing this game proved to be useful. I loved the new big shortcut in the second part of Galactical Galaxies. Great game and great improvement! I noticed you didn't get a final score over one million points this time, though. :o
I like this screenshot.

Thank you! We hadn't beaten Italy in a competitive match that didn't end in penalties since 1920. First the World Cup two years ago and now the Euro again. This is amazing!
