if that's your project why don't you make it a legit run? You'd just have to beat the game normally 4 times to unlock the 4 chracters, and then you can do all the BtP and BtT, until you have the final prize of SSB: sound test. that would probably be an accepted/published run.
I'm not prepared to beat the game 3 times. x_x Beating the game simply isn't fun... and 3 times... I know Bisqwit wont publish it but I'm enjoying making these vids. Also, the ssb bonus stage pro's are finding them helpful. I'll put all the clips together at the end to make one big vid for your viewing pleasure.

Very nice clips. Sorry I havent followed thoroughly this thread but are you TASing some special mission or?
I'm TASing the Bonus Stages "Board the Platforms". You can choose when to play this by going to 1P and selecting from the Bonus Stage menu. There's also another Bonus Stage called "Break the Targets" which I will get through to later. My Project is to do all the BtP and BtT stages for every character. Will take some time =P

Awesome, thanks. *back to Super Smash Bros. Bonus stage* Edit: Report bugs here? For some reason when I press hard right on the analog stick it goes passed the normal range to actually pressing left. It doesn't do this for when I press Left on the stick. Any idea how to prevent this. I'm using a N64 controller.

Just completed Ness BtP Bonus Stage. The current realtime world record is 25"00 by Malva00 (fyi: undoubtedly the best SSB player in the world) My time is: 24"47 446 re-records. Video: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=4D90CE5667D3D36C http://rapidshare.de/files/29519613/24.47_Ness_BtP.wmv.html YouTube is down temporarily. Hardest thing to do was angling the spark recovery move. Double Jump Cancels also took some time to find the perfect angle(s). Stay tuned for the next BtP... Thanks. Then I'll just make the BtP runs individually. I don't mind that it wont get published. I'm also helping out the BtP community by giving them extra tips that they probably don't know about. Most of all, they are fun to make.

Even further, you ought to mention explicitly that you used slow-motion/frame advance.
This forum is for tool assisted gameplay, no need to mention that I used frame advance. Obviously I did, right?

I'm working on the BtP's. I know quite a lot about smash 64 if I may say so myself. Oh, big up Moogle! Thanks to his vid I was inspired to break his Yoshi BtP time. I've beaten the current Yoshi Board The Platforms World Record: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrvZLwisdgM It took aaalllll day!! (playing on and off) 413 re-records My time was 16"35. The current normal time record is 16"37. I think it's pretty much perfect... they are so damn good in normal time. Although there is no vid proving the 16"37 WR, the guy is highly respected in the BtP community. Who wants me to eventually make them all? =P It could take a loooong time, but it was definitely fun/frustrating to do this one.

OMG SASTOPHER POSTED HERE... Hail my Peachy Master.... For TAS worthy SSB64 ideas: Fox has a infinite (at least pseudo infinite) with the first hit of the up air, which has a set knock back regardless of percent. Kirby can kill at any percent with his down aerial once off the stage. Pikachu has some amazing edge guarding which are accesible after combos. Ness of course has double jump cancelled aerials which have no lag. But would this equate to awesome playing or awesome TAS? >_>;
I made a vid showing the pseudo infinite ages ago. But it seems I didnt upload it to here. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4432798419449511468&hl=en DJC is awesome too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2baExmi71g EDIT:- You can get 0.0 seconds on BtT's/BtP's. Vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pLGXxwIASg Here's a vid showing what happens if you pause it. You get to move 2 frames and then pause - the clock doesn't move.

It would be more impressive if you were playing at least against a computer or something, some of these look like they could be escaped from when the other member runs up (during a hold)
You can't escape holds if that's what you mean. You can't escape the combo's either, I tried. Unless you get into an advanced technique called D.I... but that means you can escape every thing... and CPU's cannot D.I.

I made this vs lvl9 Mario: http://s6.11mbit.in/tqia6lm9fhDEkPv12yz06gCiFFGmnoq41739jklHI2y40174DjGG01y7/fds6H51B I do a combo, air juggle and shine spike. I'm currently speaking to the world record holder of the BtP/BtT bonus stages. I think he can give tips on strats to use etc. EDIT: I can't encode to AVI anymore using this emu, I get damaged AVI files =( I wont be making anything until the coder can fix this.

I've been using this emulator for a long time. But now there are problems with AVI output. I don't know why these problems arise now... =-/ Either, I record a movie and the AVI file is unreadable (it says i dont have the right codecs, yeah right, i actually do :-)) or I record a movie and the AVI file plays the movie but it is crazy. Weird sounds, multi coloured madness... just plain weird. I only got this problem when I started an Extreme -G TAS... But now I cannot encode anything to AVI with this emu... Any ideas? =-( I want to make N64 movies. EDIT: BTW I am using uncompressed AVI. I do this and then encode later.

Here is a test run I made in MK2. I used Reptile and showed some of the juggling I discovered with him. Let me know if it desyncs or not. I used the 1.0 Rom.

antd - Great to see it didn't desync. Allthough that demo match wasn't the best I've seen. :D But I do know that the point with this video was anyways. So don't absorbe the critique ;)
hehe It's so frustrating only knowing how to do 2 moves as sub zero ;) I'll definitely learn all the different techniques for Mortal Kombat 2, now that I know it wont desync.
what exact settings do you use to prevent the desyncs? i unchecked "Volume Envelope Height" but still get desyncs. does "Use WIP1 timing", "Fake Mute", or the others need to be checked/unchecked as well? i'm using snesx9 1.43+ and MK2(U)1.1 btw
I just used default settings, I didn't change anything. Also, you said you are using version 1.1, I am using version 1.0. Try using the first version (1.0). It worked for me. EDIT: I'm so silly. I just remembered MK Trilogy is also on the N64. I could simply use the N64 version to do a better TAS (in terms of more characters, new techniques, more combo's). There's a ton of combo's and glitches in MKTrilogy. What do you think? Georgexi: How about you use the N64 version of MK Trilogy to do a TAS? It'll take some time for me to do something entertaining, since I have to learn the techniques of mortal kombat from scratch =P

i wouldnt mind doing a MK2 run myself if someone could find a way so that it never desynced and the sound didnt crap out. i was a mad mk2 fan back in the day. i've beaten the arcade version several times without continuing. matter of fact me and another MK2 buddy of mine still duke it out occasionally on the PS2 (MK: Shaolin Monks has MK2 on it). i'm kinda waitin to see if an arcade re-recording emulator becomes a standard. the arcade MK2 is superior sound/graphics-wise and hopefully wont have the desync problems.
Great. My MK2 ROM never desyncs. My ROM:- Mortal Kombat II (U) (V1.0) I used snes9x version 1.43 with re-recording etc. Also, FBA works fine, it can play arcade games such as alpha 3, xmen vs street fighter. Perhaps it has support for MKII too.
