Is Bisqwit going to see any of that money? After all, he went through a lot to create the avi files and also runs this site by himself.

Lezard's movies are for VirtaNES. Bisqwit works with Famtasia.

Well, Genisto made me his bitch. I have been PWNED. Three minutes faster!?! I can't believe it. Imagine how much faster it could have been if you had tried the Area 17 shortcut. Am I still considered a "player?"

Does anyone know if there is an English translated version of the Japanese Castlevania 2? The reason I ask is that it's different in some ways, harder, and most importantly it has a save feature instead of passwords.
What's it called?

Why does everyone say Shinobi 3 and skip Revenge of Shinobi? That game was the reason I bought a Genesis!

Again, I reiterate my feelings that no further explanations are needed. All the information anyone would want is right here on the site. People will complain no matter what.

I tried to mess around with Strider but it didn't seem very cool. There was a lot of "explore stage, get item, backtrack" involved. Now the arcade/Genesis Strider, that would be cool.

Maybe proggesional was not the right word, but you dont need to jump all over him because of it.
"Proggesional" is never the right word. ^_^ Seriously though, if you want to submit a movie, submit it. If you're not going for speed, say so. If Bisqwit likes it, he'll post it.

I think that's enough information. There's a link to the site where a very detailed explanation is available. It says an emulator was used and even shows how many re-records it took. People are going to yell "cheater" no matter what steps we take to explain ourselves. Hell, several posters lately have come to the forum, knowing full well what we do and how we do it, and still chose to attack us. Fuck 'em. We're not trying to prove anything here, we're just trying to entertain.

Maybe you can just record the highlights, like major boss battles. Make sure to pause to show what level your character is at.

What program would I use to do that?

It would be most impressive. One of the early 3D polygon games, although gameplay was 2D.

Given the large size of these replay files, I think any run will have to be segemented. My trial time attack on Dracula only takes a few minutes but the file is 56MB!

In case anyone was curious, I've been exploring these options and so far, so good. I'm using ePsxe, a freeware emulator. All of the plugins listed at the above site seem to work on it, as the PS Emu Pro has been discontinued. The re-recording feature absolutely works. As a test, I recorded myself fighting Dracula at the beginning of Castlevania: SOTN. It looks pretty cool, if I say so myself.

Is he being condescending or is it just poor grammar?

Hey, there are a lot of great jams not in here yet (yeah, this works for me now): Metroid - Beating Kraid while standing still Metroid - Using the monster to get into Tourain early Castlevania 2 - Killing Dracula with ease Contra - Boss battles are really cool Excitebike - Going up through the top of screen Mega Man 3 - Battle vs Rock Mon...er, "Yellow Devil" Mega Man 4 (v1) - Battle vs Bright Man (In v2, he takes hits. V1 was cooler) Mega Man 5 - Riding the Super Arrow long distances (Gravity & Stone Man stages) Mega Man 5 - Fighting the 3rd boss on the Protoman stages Ninja Gaiden II - Most boss fights are pretty impressive Kung Fu - Backwards jump kicks are neat! Most of this stuff is cooler than my stuff.

Already tried, thanks. EDIT: I have solved the problem. In case anyone is curious, a "friend" of mine had installed a program called "Total Recorder" which must have created a conflict with my sound card. It was also fucking up my QuickTime audio.

After years of using ZNES, the sound has suddenly gone MUTE!?! I can't figure out why, and I don't see an FAQ on the ZNES site. Any ideas? Please help.

Well, I redownloaded everything, Famtasia included, and the FMVs are no longer "corrupted" but they are out of sync. In every River City Ransom movie he just runs into the wall and doesn't move again. Some of them don't run at all.
