yes, every enemy except ringman (who you obviously wont see) counts, because i believe there are only 6-8 total unique enemies in the level

what i mean is killing 5 different kinds of enemies. for instance, i could kill 5 of the tops that are at the beginning of the level, but you would still need to find 4 different and unique enemies to kill. if you need more guidance i can make a example video (using a different level/game)

i am trying to find the hp for all the bosses in castlevania aria of sorrow's boss rush mode. so far its going fine, except for the fact that the game reuses the same couple memory addresses for the hp of all the bosses (the address for great armors hp is the shared with one of man eaters tentacle eyes). while this does make searching for the later bosses easier (i already have the addresses) it cloggs up my notes and doesnt look nice. i would much rather have duplicates of the address that list the bosses hp's in nice sequential order. i tried pressing the duplicate/new button on the memory watch and it gave the options for selecting the address, i gave it a new name, hit ok, and nothing popped up. it just highlighted the copy of the address i watched first (the dupes aren't there). the same thing happened when i found the address again in ram search and reclicked watch. is there any way to make duplicates on the screen with seperate notes. it is not needed, although it would just look nicer. thanks, and im using the internal viewer/search btw.

EDIT:new goal, i am looking for someone to create compilation videos though. welcome to my tas competition where you complete the goal i set you with as much efficiency as you can. my competition will not be focusing on a single game, but it will span multiple games and consoles, with a variety of tasks to keep it fresh. here are some basic rules. -at 10:00 PST (1 EST) on or before the specified due date, you must send a zip of the required movie files to TAScompetition@gmail.com(original i know). at that date i will start making the movie compilation and so late submissions will in most cases be accepted. -please compress the files and name them along the lines of "TASchallenge#xbyNAME" E.X. TASchallenge#1byThundrio.zip -do not talk strategy or show WIP's/Finished products with other people, even if they are not competing in the current challenge. -you may not CO-author with anyone for a given task unless otherwise specified -timing is done by me, the timing starts and ends at the point i specify. -any violation of the rules makes you viable for DISQUALIFICATION and further action if neccessary. most of all have fun! i will try to make the tasks interesting and varied. any questions/comments/suggestions/clarifications can be posted here, pm'ed to me or emailed. i am not sure what to do on scoring yet, but i will decide by the due date of the first task. _________________________________________________________________ Tas Task 4. game title: sonic the hedgehog 2 (gen) goal:enter carnival night zone 1 (2 player), and do the following. 1)get 50 rings as sonic 2)get 50 rings as tails 3)have sonic bounce off 5 circular bumpers (see picture below) 4)have tails bounce off 5 green flippers (see picture) 5)have both sonic and tails end on either a slot, or spring (See picture below). sonic and tails CAN NOT be on the same slot/flipper at the end. start recording: from reset start timing: the first all black frame after selecting carnival night zone end timing: the first frame that sonic/tails are both in there respective spots (if on spring than spring has to be yellow, if on slot then slot has to be yellow) due date:sunday, october 17 reason for choosing goal:my selection method includes not doing a system twice (until all of them have been done), and not doing a game series twice if i can help it. i also want this competition to introduce different TAS concepts to people, so this one will require multitrack (which gens has built in). i dont believe this will take too long, but i have not tried it yet. if people need me to make a explanation video i can. _________________________________________________________________ results for task 1: this task was kind of a disaster, because i forgot to ban the one things (i havent played super metroid ever so that prolly wasnt a good idea,) and i made the goal too open. as a result i didnt finish mine and so RaijinXBLADE won by default, since he was the only one who entered (if you want to see his video pm me). results for task 2: compilation video:coming soon zip of all files:http://www.mediafire.com/?cf8lxr79b45am93 place)name-frames[rerecords] 1)Aglar-5271[1758] 2)Mugg-5400[6051] 3)Mothrayas-5491[4121] 3)RaijinXBLADE-5491[1739] 4)thundrio-5685[1565] results for task 3: compilation video:coming soon zip of all files:http://www.mediafire.com/?cpe2y1cldftyiy8 place)name-frames[rerecords] 1)Aglar-4914[935] 2)Tompa-4938[9525] 3)Deign-4966[1784] 4)Twisted Eye-5074[368] 5)RaijinXBLADE-5206[634] _______________________________________________________________- scoring: place)name[points] 1)Aglar[9] 2)RaijinXBLADE[4] 2)Tompa[4] 3)Mugg[3] 3)Deign[3] 4)Mothrayas[2] 4)Twisted Eye[2] 5)thundrio[1] scoring works like this; each task i give the person in last place 1 point, second to last 2 points, etc etc. ______________________________________________________________ i believe i covered everything. if i forgot anything please let me know. i am looking for somebody who is interested in helping to make the compilation videos for each task (pm me if your willing). also thanks to nahoc's and mr.grunz's tas competitions as they were the inspiration for me doing this.

i am trying to "casually" tas some n64 games for fun. when i was testing all of them to see if they worked, i came up with issues on 2 of the games. 1)paper mario has flickering issues, every 10-20 frames there is a flicker frame where it shows the backround, very annoying, 2)no inputs work on dk 64 (im using tas input plugin) when i ran both these games on pj64 they ran fine with the same plugins. can somebody help please? thanks

im a casual taser, and i like tasing on the n64 best. it has the visual input plugin that helps me slow it down (i tend to advance more frames at once with the keyboard). im wondering if any other systems have that kind of plugin, because i have not found one (or if the n64 one works with other systems).

i read a topic on here a while ago about adding ghosts through lua scripting, and obviously it would be difficult. and maybe this has been done but this is an idea i have had for a while. would it be easier to just have two copies of the emulator open side by side, with one showing a movie that has been recorded, and one being your current tas. they would be at the same frame, and when you advanced a frame both would advance to the same frame, and then loading/saving states would load the movie to the point you are in the tas. obviously this would make it easy to desync, and i dont know how hard this would be to create (maybe already possibe and i just have not tried it.) thanks

i enjoy the idea of tasing, and consider myself a casual taser (Very casual). but i enjoy competing in the zelda 64 tas challenges (hosted at zeldaspeedruns.com) and the sm64 challenges (sm64.com), i was wondering if there are any challenges like these for other games (start at a certain place, and the goal is to do something short and specific, usually takes less than a minute of real time). thanks
