This is a 1-minute improvement over Nitsuja’s published run.

Emulator details

  • Recorded on snes9x-1.51-rerecording-svn92
  • Use WIP Timing - on
  • Left+Right/Up+Down - off
  • Volume Envelope Height Reading - off
  • Fake Mute desync workaround - on
  • Sync samples with sound CPU - on

Game objectives

  • Aims for fastest time
  • Controlls 2 characters
  • Manipulates luck
  • Abuses programing errors

Lag reduction

Entering an exit causes 3-frame lag per 1 player, so 2 players didn’t enter the exit at once. Some of boss battles limit special performance due to lag. In 4-8, there wasn’t much I could do.

About movie end

Putting bombs horizontally allows stopping key input much faster than the last boss being beaten if I throw a bomb to the bomb’s line from the edge of it.

Special thanks

  • Nitsuja and Amilala, for their works. I got some ideas, from their runs, on how to make boss battles and 5-1 entertaining.

Nice run, many of the levels look so much faster that I'm surprised it's only 1 minute faster in total. The only negatives I can think of aren't your (Ryuto's) fault (some bosses were more boring in order to avoid lag, and the time isn't 13:37 anymore). Now I wonder when the Super Bomberman 2 TAS (which is even older than what this is obsoleting) will get an update...

Perhaps that can be Ryuto's next project. :)

Didn't notice the suggested screenshots. That said, I prefer the other one because the main characters are near the center and are facing the screen. Optimizing...

How about the Neo Bomberman in Arcade?
Do the work.

I don't think this should be marked with "Heavy glitch abuse" since the only programming errors it uses are minor and hard to notice.

Agreed. I think there's been some confusion over the invulnerability period - someone thought it was a glitch instead of an intended feature and that's why the category is there.

The next project I'm considering is Super Bomberman 5 for now.
