HAPPY MY 5TH SUBMISSION =)

This is a 2374frames-improvement for "best ending, 100%" of the game. I was thinking this while I was doing a run I made before. By the way this is a SNES9X 1.43 movie.

GAME OBJECTIVES

  • Aims for fastest time
  • Goes BEST ENDING
  • Collects all items except Z-SABER because of BEST ENDING
  • Manipulates luck
  • Uses programing error in the game
  • Defeats BIT and BYTE
  • Takes damage to save time (refill energy of HYPER CHIP)

SPECIAL THANKS TO

Graveworm for his run which isn't submitted. Route I took this run is based on his route. It helped me with this run. Mothrayas for his currently published run. He also performed something very nice. It helped me as well. FractalFusion for his telling me "SABER JUMP FROM A WALL". I performed this technique once in the intro stage.
HAVE FUN AND SEE YOU UNTIL MY NEXT COME =D

Mukki: Judging...
Mukki: Nice work. Accepting as an improvement to the currently published run.
Nahoc: Processing...

Here are some screenshots I took when watching: I am currently doing the downloadable encode + 512kb. Amazing improvement, agwawaf! YES vote. [Moderator edit by DarkKobold]Broke the pictures up, so they don't break the forum.

Nice work! It'd be nice if there were some description of the new techniques displayed in this run. For example, apparently firing charged shots lets you jump again? But anyway, clear yes vote.

Oh man, you are very fast. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to view this right now, but I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Impressive, I'm surprised you managed to save so many frames.

In honest, I don't have confidence to explain techniques in ENGLISH and I have never used description of Youtube. But I will try description later.

I'd love to see that; the Gaea Armor actually has extremely good striking power, because the charge shot is almost instantaneous and gives the bosses almost no invulnerability.

Gaea Armor also moves slower in general on top of not being able to use parts such as Hyper Dash, making it vastly inferior for movement. Gaea would only be used for the Rosered revisit where it's required. Granted its damage output on bosses would be pretty high, but it's still not as good as Zero's SDC (or even his Triple Slash or even Air Slash with Master Saber part) and possibly X's Nova Strike.

If it was me doing the TAS, I'd use the Gaea Armor in the Sigma level as a speed/entertainment tradeoff. I'd find it more entertaining than more SDC action or Ultimate X spamming Nova Strike.

After doing an air dash, firing at the pink or red/green level while pressing the jump button at the same time causes X to jump in the air. This is very useful when the Arm chip (a stock from which you can fire red/green level shots without charging) is acquired. I heard this can also be done in MMX2.

I have never played MMX5. So I can't work on X5 because of no knowledge of the game. Maybe my next is MMX any% or 3rd multiple playing. But I don't start to do next right away. I'm tired now :P

How so?
wicked wrote:

That wasn't unnecessary, it was to trigger a glitch which allows X to move during Byte's defeat speech, allowing him to charge up weapons and reach the door faster.

He was going for best ending, so he couldn't kill off Zero to get the Z-Saber, so it would be pointless to go to Vile's stage.

Well, it's easy to see how great this run was. The air-dash reset trick was especially interesting and probably a great source of saved time. Plus you killed Bit n' Byte, and that's always fun. :3
First a movie gets submitted, and ends up accepted despite breaking rules other runs have been rejected for. And when I vote less than spectacularly on this movie, I become the victim of harassment and threats. Yay, favoritism.
