I will try to do the timeattack of this wonderful game from arcades. I used to play it on the arcade many times, and I haven't forgotten most of the tricks. I know it is posibble to do no damage play, but I will do the fastest route, with just one credit on hardest level at first. Anyone for a challenge?

I think it's generally agreed upon that a 2-player run of it would be a lot more entertaining than 1-player, so I encourage you to try that out, though it may be tough as a first run.

I attempted a 2-player of this with a friend. I eventually gave up because it didn't look very entertaining, and we were getting pretty aggro at one another over the gameplay. I generally don't think beat-em-up games make for good timeattacks, but thats just me.

Yeah, I haven't thought any have really looked good(because of the game) except for streets of rage 2.

You had also 3 players mode, which is even more interesting to watch...

i would really like to make a run for this game, but i think i should aim for score, not exactly speed. it would be played as wizard on expert difficulty. i've managed to get 3 million points+ playing normally, so that wuld have to be beaten. there are lots of tricks that can be used to increase score, but i will point out how scoring at bosses and using magic work: - hitting an enemy doesnt add to score. hitting a boss does. - killing an enemy or a boss adds to score. - magic hits dont give score, therefore never use magic on bosses. - weaker weapons require more hits on the boss, resulting on more score (aka dont get certain weapon upgrades). - when you level up or after dying, when the characters gets up and screams it gives about 10 fake hits on whatever touches him, it doesnt do damage, but it adds to the score if that hits a boss. i would go for no damage, even though the tactic to lose lives at the last boss to get those extra points would work, i think it would be very boring. so, only level up 10 hits abuse would be used. - food gives score if you have full health - the wizard's flame weapon is the best weapon to score attack, as it gives lots of weak hits per second. - hitting projectiles such as arrows and spears gives 1000 points. i would also like to record 3 players on final burn alpha but it doesnt have frame advance yet, so no can do :P what does everyone think?

I would LOVE to see a King of Dragons run! I played this game when I was still a little kid and I had a lot of difficulties going through the levels. I never completed the game, as far as I can remember. I think there should be a fastest time run too, since IMO, run aiming for score usually aren't as entertaining. --- Those were my two cents.

Yes it does. F1 is normally the fast-forward key, but if you push it while the game is paused, it acts as frame advance. It works great, I did a test of level 1 in Sonic Wings 2 with no problems. This game is pretty cool, but I personally think the D&D games trounce it in every category. I'd love to see a no-damage run in Tower of Doom where the Red Dragon gets killed. Last time I played it, I had to use dozens of credits to win.

oh F1 key huh? i will remember that :) you guys can expect the first 3 player run controlled by 1 person coming out soon (even though i know the problem with final burn alpha that doesnt record from reset, but i promise to cut as little rames as possible at the start) by the way, i dont know if the D&D games are good, i tried playing it once but i didnt like it. I like how king of dragons works, the music, the sceneries, so it is a very good game for me, i dont know if its the best, but i just love it.

Yeah, King of Dragons is much more fast-paced. I'm really looking forward to this run, since I've never played the CPS-1 version.

I think this would be a really cool run to see, especially if you could get 3 players goin, but still just 2 people would be impressive.
