Slower than the last existing published run. I should mention that it's slower than first ever sm64 run which too was a 16-star. And to whoever didn't notice me raging like all the other ones I voted 2 yesses today so I was going for 3 in a row but this made me upset and die on the inside.... also school loves the fuck out of me (sarcasm at school part)

tasvideos isn't for submitting any TAS you can make, but only a TAS that beats all existing records for that category + cannot be easily improven (OR is an exceptional playaround)

It's even slower than the current unassisted speedrun.

THIS. With all due respect, and all good intentions you may come, you shouldn't submit this TAS like that. Even if you need feedback, you could just encode your TAS, post a link on SM64 topic and TASers will be pleased to feedback/give advices on your video. No vote for me for same reasons above.

DarkMagnum BangBaew, The TASVideos submission area is for people to submit the runs that beat other runs already on the site (most of the time). If you have a run that is not fast enough yet, we have other resources and places to discuss these runs, such as the main forums. As people have pointed out, this run is slower than many current records. Good luck with your next project, though. Perhaps, as you're working on it, you can go to the main forums and post WIPs (Works In Progress) as you proceed with the run.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

Did your laptop never get so hot that you would inflict serious injuries on yourself if you pressed just one last button?
All syllogisms have three parts, therefore this is not a syllogism.

Is it april 1st already? On a more serious tone, please check if your run beats any of the published runs before considering submission :(

Hi DarkMagnum BangBaew, Welcome to TASVideos! As you can see from the comments above you've caused a bit of a stir because you did not read through the guidelines and you submitted a movie that does not meet the movie rules that were linked from the submission and submission instructions pages. I for one would welcome further work in progress submissions from you in the game's forum thread. Thanks for understanding and best of luck in improving your TASing skills, A.C. ******

bangbaew, this is one of the major problems here:

The goal of completing the game with 16 stars is completely arbitrary, and generally we don't accept runs with completely arbitrary goals. It's completely arbitrary because there's no reasoning behind it; why not 15 stars, or 17, or 5 for that matter? Is there a rational reason for it to be precisely 16? If there isn't, then it's completely arbitrary and has no reason to exist as a goal for a speedrun. (Yes, I know the history of speedrunning the game, and I know that for a time 16 was the minimum that was known. However, the second that someone discovered that the game can be completed with less stars, the number 16 became arbitrary. There's no reason to aim for it anymore.) 70 stars would be a non-arbitrary goal because it's what's necessary to complete the game in normal circumstances, via regular gameplay. However, for that goal to make sense you would have to restrict the run and ban any glitch abuse that could be used to complete the game with less stars. Only then would that goal make sense.

Ohhhh boy. I don't know what to say without running the risk of coming off as trollish and mean and repelling you from the TASing community, but TASing skill has completely different standards from regular speedrunning skill. There are lots of kind words from people who want to gently guide you to understanding of what TASVideos is about, and I hope you'll heed them. We want to see high-quality TAS work. However, TAS is just as much a science as it is art. In a regular speedrun, we want to be in awe at the skills of your fingers; in a tool-assisted speedrun, we want to see the solution to a mathematical equation (what's the shortest series of input that produces this output?).
