It's a decent and quite long JRPG for DS. Probably won't TAS it myself, but started this topic just in case. From my playthrough, I noticed that you can avoid all random battles by going to the menu at a right time. Should be quite useful, as fighting anything is slow. The exp system works in an interesting way in this game. Going underleveled somewhere, you'll grow to the area's standard level after fighting just one or two battles. After that, exp gains start to become negligible. It might be worthwhile to go out of your way to fight fights in a higher level area because of this (Mount Svatgol is the best chance to do this?). Very fast level gains are guaranteed, and levels do matter tons in this game, influencing both your survivability and damage you do a lot. However, the maximum exp you can gain from a battle is around 7500-8500 exp, translating to around 7 or 8 levels, so there is a limit to what just one fight can do. Probably won't be worth it to get an elevator to your castle? While this saves running time between floors, and you can purchase some damage dealing items from the recruited character (the usefulness of which is questionable?), the quest to recruit the character is slightly out of the way.
