Wouldn't you have to do two death warps? The first would take you to the entrance of the spirit temple then you leave (see requiem of spirit cut scene) then death warp again. or do backtrack to the entrance see the cut scene then death warp?

Play RoS and deathwarp Which plugins are you guys using to watch the TAS? My glN64, which was downloaded from the official site, doesn't work.
I'm using Rice, with great success, but comicalflop told me a while back that gln64 should work fine.

My glN64 doesn't work either, but I was luckily able to watch the first WIP with Jabo 1.5.2 DaShiznawz - No you wouldn't because Link dies outside the temple. EDIT -- I've also made an .avi of the first WIP since no one else has. For some reason, whenever I try and scale the movie in MEncoder my avi becomes corrupted. Therefore the quality can be better. If anyone has any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong please say.

All right I get it. I have another question. What are we gonna beat gannon with after he knocks the master sword If we use Deku Nuts like the current published run at what point in the run do we get the nuts? Also can you hit gannondorf with light arrows to hurt him when he is down? Because after the first light arrow if you hurt him with the sword you won't have bottle on B to get another light arrow. Also no one answerd my question above about when I play prelude of light after getting the medallions and magic after the light arrow cutscene there are bombs on B instead of bottle is that gonna happen or is there a way around it. Would it be faster to go from kakariko to lon lon steal epona then lost woods then lake hylia instead of Kakariko > Lost Woods > Lon Lon > Lake Hylia. Also the bomb bag early in dodongo's cavern is the bombchu hover glitch (-3 bombchu's leaving 2 for mini boss skip in Jabu Jabu) correct? If so what do we activate infinate sword glitch off of? Sorry for all the questions but I am really interested in this run. Thanks guys.

You won't need more than one light arrow for Ganondorf, since he can be beaten in one cycle. Which part are you asking where the sword glitch can be activated? If dodongo's, then off either the nearby bomb plant, or the chest. If jabu, you can activate the glitch with bombs. I'm no expert on BA stuff, so can't help ya there. And try using breaks in your sentences, it makes posts a lot easier to read.:p Edit: Anyone else having trouble viewing that WIP on FF? Mine's just a blank screen...

Sorry about the breaks. I was talking about Dodongo's cavern, when do we use infinite sword glitch/bomb hover in Jabu Jabu's Belly?

Vidar I didn't get your post at all. I just would like to know how gannon is gonna be killed I am guessing with Deku Nuts but when in the run do we get them and how many do we need?

Just to inform: GANNON BANNING is when someone misspells Ganon. Deku Nuts are collected in the spirit temple (if the well route is faster, which I doubt, they can be manipulated elsewhere.) We need like 7-8ish. The first batch we collect will be all we need. Back at home, so hopefully I can get back to work on this. Just about at the part with cuccoo jumping the bridge.

That's because I never uploaded it as a video but as a file instead. It's a personal thing because I dislike FF's video. Just download it normally and you can watch it perfectly well. Also, keep it up Flop, looking forward to it.

I just watched the WIP. Thanks, Mukki. Everything up to the Deku Shield looked incredibly well-optimized. I thought we only needed at most two Deku sticks? What's the point of getting three? As for the Deku Tree, there are a few spots that appeared to be suboptimal by 1-2 frames, but as I've never actually experimented, I'm not entirely qualified to make the calls... 1. The first backwalk from the entrance to the ladder. 2. We've confirmed that it's faster to break through the web the "usual way" as opposed to what we did in the first two runs (i.e. slashing against the vine wall)? 3. Getting to the three Deku Scrubs in B2. Couldn't that have been a little faster?

If your only going up to bombchus in spirit temple where in the temple do you get 7-8 deku nuts?

There are some Deku Nuts in the room where you need the first key inside the left box iirc. Couldn't we also get some in Kokiri when we get the Poacher's Saw? And I believe we brake the net the usual way this time because you can do the vine glitch faster then. Sorry if I'm wrong about that. Edit: Also, getting too many Deku Sticks might not be a good idea because you have to get rid of them later to get Bottle B and that would look kind of unprofessional imo. Though it would be a nice time/entertaiment tradeoff. ;)

When I was collecting the deku sticks pre-Tree, I definitely remember looking through Guano's entire v2 WIP, and noticing that all 3 were used for very specific reasons and were fully drained by the end. Otherwise, I would have collected only two. I'll take a look at the improvements you mention for deku tree, but the backwalk to the ladder was optimal (I checked, you'll notice his speed remains the same even if he is angled towards the wall- you see this many times in Jabu Jabu, it's done to keep the same speed and change direction once the wall is passed. I also made tests of my own; rolls have about the same speed as a backwalk, and end with a pause that should be cancelled in some way. When getting to the ladder, I was 2-3ish frames faster than Rolling then setting up a backwalk. Jumping off the ledge we did was the best way to do the vine glitch off of the skulltula. You could jumpslash your way like in the published run, but would not be in any position to do the vine glitch. I don't know about those deku scrubs. I am concerned about the loss of one full heart in getting there, since that puts me with half a heart for the entire spirit temple, so I might have to lose some frames to avoid damage, instead of cleverly take damage for the deathwarp. It might have been better to sidehop towards the deku scrubs, but I think the trigger for their appearance is as soon as you walk out of the water, so getting to them faster would be not needed. So far, the only biggest improvements to deku tree would be rolling through that spider instead of slashing to stop it, and pulling off that zip that I haven't been able to replicate. Acryte: you seem to have a good find there... how is it done, how can it help, and where would it save time?

I know I have asked lots of questions but I have two more. If we get 5 Deku Nuts in the spirit temple but you said it takes like 7-8 to beat Ganon, where do we get the other 2-3? The route says after Dodongo's Cavern is beaten to get Kakariko bottle. How do you get from Death Mountain to Kakariko since the guard still hasn't opened the gate. I am guessing you either take the owl, or bomb hover over the gate. Let me know thanks.

This often causes confusion, we you collect one deku nut that means you get 5 of them, to beat Ganon you need 10, although it may be of benifit using them against the lizardoz and the stalfos in the ascent to Ganondorf.

When you come to the gate from the opposite side, you can pass right through it, no hovering needed. Edit: Wow, I just noticed this thread was started way back in 2005 by TSA. When you think about all the discoveries that have happened during that time...just wow. It certainly has come a long way

Thanks. That is cool that you can go through the gate. I understand you get 5 when you get Deku Nuts. I know you get 5 from the right box in spirit temple, where do you get the other 5?

You can get 3x5 Deku Nuts from beating the plant on the right at the entrance in Kokiri. It's there no matter if it's day or night, but only before you have the Forest Medallion. That shouldn't be a problem though. Maybe it would be faster to get 15 there when you go get the Poacher's Saw and none inside Spirit Temple?

Update: I am experiencing a peculiar desynch in Hyrule Field... After the superslide off the Pea Hat and just as I backflip onto a fence and sidehop off it, on the way to Gerudo Valley, my hop off the fence keeps going haywire. Going to take me a lot of trial and error to get a hop off of the fence that stays in synch (a shame too, I was nearly at the cuccoo jump over the gate.)

Has anybody tested if it's possible to obtain the Master Sword as a child from RBA? It could work with Goron Mask or Zora Mask on C-right, I guess. I can't test it myself, I don't have v1.0. Maybe the door in the Temple of Time would be open then before you have all the Sacred Stones... Also, what happens if you do RBA as a child with an empty C-right? And when you sell a mask, the C button looks like it would be empty again. It could be that "SOULD OUT" is equipped then. "SOULD OUT" has 0x2C as its bit value and that's pretty close to the items which change stuff in your inventory. So it might be good to also test RBA with it.

What would be the point of having the master sword when we have deku nuts? Definitely won't open the door though. Use a gameshark to give you the stuff and see. It is essentially the exact same thing... changing values in the memory w/out actually obtaining it.

OK then. I just thought it could be a good idea. Edit: I just realized everything I said about Deku Nuts was stupid btw.

I'm doing some research for BA. I'll construct a guide type thing soon explaining how bottle adventure works and stuff so that anyone can understand. I'm sure it will be helpful. ________________________________________ EDIT: Thanks goes out to Kazooie, Jay the ham, and ZSO for all the tables and stuff that have helped me out w/ understanding BA. Their work has made it easy to see what gives you what in BA because they have tested alot of the combinations (especially Kazooie). Through testing tonight I finally figured out exactly how items on C-right affect items on B, and exactly how certain other things work. Pretty much every single thing about BA except for the issue as to WHY specifically in the code Bottle on makes C-right linked to it and makes it go crazy. BUT i now understand it alot better. Mainly, I have been looking for a way to make it so that I don't have to literally test out every combination to find out what I get on B or in my inventory. For every item we can put on C-right, for every quest status item we can edit, and for every equipment (left and right) that we can edit, I know exactly how it works in relation to B and/or inventory updates down to each location in memory and each byte that is stored for it. I don't even have to test anything out at this point. I can simply take an item, and say "if i put it on c-right" this is exactly what I will get on B, or exactly what I will be changing in the inventory, etc. even if I had never tested the combination out before, and I know WHY it is that way... WHY broken goron sword gives medallions and not something else, WHY when it is on C-right and you catch a fish it gives you forest and shadow and spirit and not some other combination of medallions, and why other things work too. I will start working on the guide. I still have 3 things to figure out though. Then I can concentrate on making the guide fully complete. Then I will release it. w/ my newly obtained knowledge I now know all of the current limitations of BA. Ever wonder why you can only get to a bottle of what is on B in your inventory using RBA and not some other item? I know why. Unfortunately it is impossible to give ourselves magic unless we find some new thing in BA that we have never even discovered yet that can subtract from the values of other stuff or unless it can change some very important values...
