So, are we using about the same route as the MQ run over at SDA? Obviously, the savewarps in SDA's route will be either removed or replaced with deathwarps, but there's one place you can't do that. Right after you get the Bombchus from JJB, you have to savewarp out of that room to avoid climbing up the vines and talking to ruto. However, since you still have a bottled fairy, you can't deathwarp as you need it to skip the red slimy thing. So, it seems we have 3 options 1) get someone to implement a recorded reset feature 2) find a way to get a fairy in the first/second room of the dungeon 3) eat the time lost from the Ruto scene So, which seems most reasonable? For 2, if you take enough damage, you might be able to get the octorok/a biri/one of the plants to drop a fairy

2 sounds the most reasonable...The fuck am I doing 3. And I don't think 1 would be allowed anyway.

I care. In fact, it might even be significant enough to affect my vote when this movie ends up on the Workbench. <_<

Why don't you make the run then, and spare yourself from the horror of having to watch through an extra 50? frames of gameplay. <_<

I wasn't serious about the Workbench comment. It's your speed run and your choice. But I don't get why so many authors obsess over it when the vast majority of viewers are barely going to care anyway, plus your name already gets acknowledged on the site. Most games don't even have a name entry feature.

DeHackEd kinda sorta rejected it, deeming it not necessary. I disagree with this decision, since many N64 runs would benefit from it, it still synchs with older .m64's and doesn't add anything new that screws up with avi encoding.

The current reset version does not create proper AVIs.

The route posted a few pages back looks interesting. I ran it through on Mupen and everything worked well except that I ended up with Cojiro instead of the Odd Mushroom after becoming an adult. This meant I needed to go all the way to the Lost Woods and trade it for the mushroom to continue with the route. Anyone know why this happens? I remember hearing something about deku nuts affecting something but I'm not sure if that's the problem.

You must have saved after becoming an adult. Saving resets the Odd mushroom to Cojiro. It's a pain for the UAS, as you have to do the whole thing in one segment. In the TAS, the only time you'd segment is to deathwarp, which we don't need to do between when we get the mushroom and when we give it to the hag.

Ah, ok, thanks petrie. I had to save and reset after doing Jabu Jabu after bomb hovering over King Zora. How do you get back to the ToT without saving? He's still there blocking the path. Don't tell me I have to bomb hover over him again =/

Azorae yes you do have to bomb hover back over him. I made a run using the route I think you are following. It didn't get accepted but you can check it out. http://tasvideos.org/1672S.html Also I am almost 100% sure this is fake. But in the very very slim chance it is real I am going to post and ask. 2 bomb hovers...that severely complicates a single segment unassisted run =/ Maybe with alot of practice they become easy, but the timing isn't exactly forgiving is it..? and DaShizNaws, grats on the first sub 2 hour run. Downloading and watching right now. A little unoptimized but with less than 20k rerecords that's to be expected I guess. After a bit of testing I found out a mega flip can be used to make the gap for the odd mushroom. This may be old, but it wasn't used in your run. Edit: Saw the entire run. Sub-1:45:00 should DEFINATELY be possible (I'll probably even attempt it some day) Good Job completing the TAS, how long did that take?

That looks like somebody using a Gameshark or something to try and do something like a BLJ.
