how can u guys be so sure it's possible without ISG? I want to be a bit cocky now and say: PROOF OR GTFO
It's to 99% possible, since ISG does nothing else than letting you get as close to the edge as poissble, without you having to worry that you fall off. Obviously a TAS could do the same without ISG, it is just really fucking hard.

I don't think so. If I understand it correctly, you'd have to find a way to roll on the spot close to the edge, which is something that ISG enables you to do. Or find another way to do that megaflip on the closest spot to the edge possible. Or another way to damage boost yourself over the gap. I know you can roll on the spot after rolling into a wall if you roll again quickly. Although I don't think this can be used here, there may be other ways to execute it. (Also, it may be that it's just the animation without it really having the properties of a normal roll)

Also keep in mind ISG prevents Link from grabbing the ledge to catch himself, so that it's not a question of a TAS being the same distance, but that ISG lets you stand over the lip slightly farther than without it. I think, that the middle of your body hitbox can be standing right on the farthest edge, whereas if the outside of your hitbox reaches that edge, it goes into "grab to save my life" mode.

I'm starting to think it might just be better to use the 1.2 version so we can get the Deku Stick on B. At least that would provide backup and would be faster because of overall less lag.

Are you sure, that the lag is up to the version and not the system? for example is it also up to the system, wheter you can use bombchus in voids or not

could you upset the cuco and use it to give you an additional boost when you're close to the bridge? Or what about throwing another bomb right before you megaflip and boosting off of that? Or do a forwards megaflip and grab the ledge?

When I TASed the MQ version of the game the opening sequence was 3-4 seconds faster, so you're saving 1 second per minute on average.

I know it lets you mega flip closer the ledge but why. Why can't you do that without it? Aren't there ways to do sideways/backwards facing rolls and what not? and what about mega side-hop? Maybe there's some new glitches to found like mega flip out of a SS, or grabbing a cuco before a mega flip.
there are no cucos as adult

Sorry, this may be totally stupid, but can't you just equip the sword, cross the bridge, then do bottle B again? Would it really cost that much time considering the fact that you can reach the lake very quickly from the bridge? Of course it would look silly though. How quickly can you get deku sticks on B after doing RBA in v1.2? I only know that one way is to go and talk to Talon. (iirc this also gives you deku sticks on B if you already have a bottle on B) The don't steal Epona glitch is also out of the question because it's obviously slower than just using Epona to cross the gap. If we didn't steal the rod at all, but got deku stick on B while stealing Epona, then did some RBA stuff, then used her to cross the gap, how fast would that be? x_x

to get deku stick on B, all you do is dieing with bottle on B. then you have stick on B and you can use it to activate ISG and cross the gap

Oh, thanks. That sounds quite fast actually. What are the downsides of using v1.2 then? I guess it may take a few seconds longer to steal the rod, but other than that?

hmm, there are actually no real downsides, but here is the only one: when you save or death warp, while having bottle on B, you get deku stick on B again and you loose your master sword. when you save or death warp without having the master sword in your inventory, it gets auto equipped to B, so you get the master sword automaticly back, but you loose the deku stick/bottle on B ;) when you save or death warp on v1.0, you keep bottle on B and do not loose the master sword ;)

But the master sword isn't needed anymore after the RBA sequence anyways, or is it? And I thought there was a problem with the run, but it seems your new sequence break can just be used on v1.2 and everything will go smoothly. You wrote on your youtube account that it would only be useful if a way was found to cross the bridge without ISG. But using v1.2 solves that problem?

All of the important enemies in Ganondorf's castle that leads to his room. The sword is also needed for ISG to hover by using Bombchus (if that one is faster than the old Armos block method). to skip the Trials.

Oh, and you couldn't beat Ganondorf in one cycle without the sword, I guess. Hm, I get it.

was there a way to do a forward facing megaflip? or what about a mega sidehop that let's you grab the ledge?

you can't grab ledges while backflipping or sidehopping in OoT, so this is impossible ;)

You could do a forward sidestep and then jumpslash at the end.

does jumpslash work with bottle on B?

of course not anyway, I highly doubt, that mega sidehop + jumpslash reaches more distance than a mega flip. it should actually be shorter about the "do bridge skip with deku stick ISG": to get bottle on B, we must have 0 deku sticks, so when we want to do the bridge skip, we have 0 sticks. means, that we have to get a deku stick as adult. the best place would be the kokiri forest store, but it would cost a good amount of 20-25 seconds to do that. dieing to get stick on B also costs 10 seconds, so a bridge skip without ISG would still save 30-40 seconds, which is huge ;)

There's always the guay skip, can you hit it with a deku nut to keep it in the right place or make it come back to get you?

A deku nut cause flying enemies to fall to the ground.

So is there any progress on the old run? Since I don't think this new route is any faster (without the megaflip-bridgeskip proven)
