Get that started. It may not be the HIGHEST entertainment value, but I think it's worth doing. And I will diffinately enjoy watching it

I have mixed feelings about this idea. It wouldn't be an arbitrary category (unlike any% non-RBA) but I doubt it would be as entertainig as, let's say MST. Low% MST would be very interesting, but here we have the same problem as with 100%: It will never be done. Do we even have a clear definition for 100%?
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

It's gonna take more than just asking him to get him to do it. I personally would be looking for some kind of monetary "motivation" to do a run that long and tedious. As for the low% run, sounds like a great idea, you should definitely do it. Don't be discouraged if this site somehow wouldn't want to accept it (even if they said they didn't and you submitted anyway, it'd almost certainly be accepted).

IIRC, wasn't there an issue with resetting? The unique version of mupen that removes the OoT 6 second pause doesn't handle resets, and the 100% run is heavily dependent on reset warping to save time. This is different from, say, MM 100% where the issue there is finalizing a route and not needing to waste one extra full 3 day cycle for the Kafei quest.

Lets say Mr Grunz decides to do a 100% run. If I could somehow persuade zeromus or someone else very knowledgable to fix the reset problem in Mupen, would you (= zelda experts) then be willing to gather around and try to establish a route for a 100% run?

You can get around the pause bug with Jabus "copy framebuffer to rdram" option. So that is not that big of a problem. Swordless' MST WIP uses this. It's just, nobody will do 100% unless you pay them. Nobody is that stupid.

I am confused. When did we ever create tases for money? You are here for the wrong reason. Tasing is a hobby. Which in this case, could mean that if somebody does work on a 100% run, there is no timeline to finish it. If it takes 5 or 10 years to reach completion, then so be it. Don't bring money to this issue, it never was or will ever be (unless mtv yo raps wants us to do a daily show about tasing).

Angerfist, I wouldn't even do a 100% TAS for money. Even if you pay me a 1000€ for a finished TAS. I could make way more in the time it takes to complete the TAS, working at McDonalds. I was just making a point. Nobody is that insane, to make a 100% TAS. Btw. I didn't bring money into this issue. Swordless did. Look a few posts above yours. ;)

My guess is that some of us here would gladly pay a few bucks to see a 100% TAS. I would chip in $20 bucks to the production of such a run. But I doubt the amount of money raised would be enough of a motivation considering the huge amount of work required for such a TAS

Yeah, we can easily have both resets and the pause lag fixed now. As Slowi said, it's shown in my WIPs. It would sure be nice if someone would make an optimised 100% TAS for free, but you're naive if you think anyone would want to. The new all temples run that I'm doing is going to be about 2 hours 15 mins when it's done and that's already pushing the envelope. I can't imagine doing a 6+ hour run for literally no pay. The "nice feeling" of making a run that people enjoy would not be worth the time and effort investments in that case. That's why money is necessary.

An improvement to Bloob's all temples TAS (2 hours 51 mins). I have a bunch of WIPs on YouTube. I guess I'll post them all here now: Rupee route: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3i0t6PyAzM Getting to Kakariko: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glLOuqKljpw Bottom of the Well (has first reset): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIY28FLP4SQ Getting to Dodongo's Cavern: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkQgUs3ADZE Dodongo's Cavern: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhY2bjYcgzg Getting to Zora's River: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGopaVQrnjM Getting to Jabu-Jabu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxcN5MK6yo4 Jabu-Jabu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwWd4g_qh2Q Getting to the castle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf4kmighdb4 I didn't upload a WIP of the castle stuff and becoming an adult cause it's mostly cutscene. Getting to the graveyard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDdSsu1lE8g Dampe race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwQmkasoxUU Those are all of the public WIPs I've posted. Right now, I'm about to do the Shadow Temple boss key skip.

I have been watching them. I must say they are awesome. Well, it might be a stupid question but is it slower climing up the ledge in Dampe Race jumping slash as abeshi did in his old run? EDIT: Ah, maybe I was wrong. Dampe has a speed cap.

EDIT: Ah, maybe I was wrong. Dampe has a speed cap. Yeah. :) And because that route is more direct than the jumpslash one, it ends up being faster overall. Don't worry, I did test both, and the difference isn't huge, but the one I took is indeed faster.

According to the site rules faster text can not be used as a sole argument to use a non-English version of the game. OoT though is done so out of order that the story doesn't make sense anymore so there is no need to be able to follow it in my opinion.

And because TASvideos already accepted, and published, an OoT run with Japanese text in the past, this shouldn't really be any different.
