• Emulator: FCEUX 2.2.2 (the movie was made with FCEU 0.98.28, that's how old it is, but the submitted file synchs with the latest version of FCEUX)
  • Aims for fastest possible in-game time as first objective
  • Aims for fastest possible real time as second objective
  • Manipulates luck (boss fights).
The story behind this submission is that feos contacted me by PM and asked me to submit it. This movie was made in 2010, and back then I didn't really consider it as a very interesting game in terms of TAS potential. But now that we have the vault, I feel that this game at least has its place there. For reference, forum post from 2010 when I posted the movie
Since it has been 4 years since I made this movie, I must admit that I don't remember much. But the game is pretty straightforward, and I hope you won't have any complicated questions regarding the choices I made.
As for the game, I think it makes for a decent TAS. It's maybe a little long for an NES TAS, but it's not too bad. There is some variety in the game, and the mazes will at least take away the "run right for justice" factor. It's a little bit slow moving, though. But I hope you will like it!
In terms of quality, I do remember that I spent quite some time optimizing movements. But of course I gladly invite people to try and improve this, I suspect that both the movements and boss fights could be improved. But to my knowledge, there aren't any (big) potential improvements to this TAS. But mind you, when I made this I made it mostly for my own enjoyment, rather than as something I would be submitting.
I think that's it. I hope you like watching it, either way I guess it's going to the Vault :)

feos: Judging...
feos: My intuition tells me, this run will be rated as a clear Vault when published, so I'm relying on my own estimate and accepting it to Vault.

This run seems to aim for in-game time, as the weapons aren't wasted to decrease the countdowns.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Aah, yes, you are right, I automatically wrote real time out of pure habit. I fixed this now, thanks.

Is there any sence in TASing Genesis port? Nice run btw, yes vote!
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

In my TAS priority it will be the 5th game then. James Bond 007 is almost done (mission 4 and final boss remaining); Rambo 3 is also going to be TASed faster as I know my problem with enemy spawns; both ports of Tom and Jerry are short and easy.

Dimon12321: if you are going to pick it someday, I need to make level maps, because... look at the end of Alien 3 thread in the Genesis section. Also, it's not a port, it's a version. It's maps are totally different.

Alien³, music kept me watching. It's an Ljn game so ehhhhhhhh. It was entertaining here and there. So I will give it a weak Yes vote.

This soundtrack isn't good enough for Duane. His glorious moves can only be unleashed by the most heavenly of orchestras and whatever music was playing during that Barbie Dance Club video.

I don't understand one thing: on level 5 (or 6) author uses flamethrower while crawling, instead of grenade launcher which causes him to stop while shooting while grenade launcher, as in level 2 (or so) does not cause a stop. Is it intended?
