Well its been a while since I could cross a movie of this list but now Snake Rattle n Roll is finally done! I'm pretty seriously stuck on Double Dragon, so I might put that one on hold for now. Probably Strider and Out to Lunch will be my next picks from here. Uh oh, but since Samsara edited it that one time it seems I can't edit the opening post anymore, can this be fixed please? EDIT: VVVV Thank you!

Should be fixed now for this post. It's a not-always-helpful side effect of having a moderator edit a post.

Thanks for doing this research jlun2. Looking those runs over its not really surprising why they got rejected before the vault was available, but at least it gives me something to look at if I get stuck or lose motivation on the runs from the original list.

If you're looking for improvable runs mine are all probably very improvable since A) they are super old and B) I generally I was more worried about the run looking good and fun. http://tasvideos.org/Movies-34up-111up-RatingY.html Street fighter 2010 notably has a lot of lag resulting from showing off. Adventure Island I know now that horizontal speed isn't precise and can be manipulated to be slightly higher.

Yup, it is basic 2D platforming with basic mistakes all over the run. The thing was conceived more than 10 years ago. Today a single fart aimed at BizHawk's general direction should be enough to accidentally the whole thing.

Would anyone be interested in obsoleting the Final Fantasy VI run from 2006? I think it's time we obsolete that old run.

First, not first 500, so not sure why you're posting here. Second, http://tasvideos.org/1555M.html

Alright time to strike off Strider! Work on Out to Lunch is already well under way too. I didn't quite reach my goal of having the list down to 20 by year end, but my new goal for this year is to have it down to 10. Possible completion in 2017? Let's go!

Hurray time to remove Out to Lunch! That brings it down to 21. I'm still pretty stuck on Double Dragon, I also tried Cobra Triangle but it was so boring I couldn't continue. Most likely Wai Wai World will be my next target.

Thanks to the great work of Dark Noob and SDR I can cross off two of the more conceptually difficult runs off this list! I could probably never do that kind of TAS so I'm glad this worked out with a really good run to obsolete those old snes ones. With Wai Wai World on the workbench this project is nearing the half way point in terms of number of runs from when I started! Of course probably only about 1/3 of the total work has actually been done, as there are several long runs still looming, but things are looking up!

Hey hey, down to sub-20! Sub-10 by the end of the year seems very much doable. Hell, might even be possible to take them all out if we get some more people working.

Iai, thanks it's not too difficult TASing these type of games, in playarounds you just need to be creative abusing the system as much possible, mixing combos and glitches with the best the game can offer.

I'll help with this! I started a Cobra Triangle TAS, but I think I'll take a while to finish it, the luck manipulation is absurd. Also, I intend to TAS Double Dragon.

Awesome! Good luck Bruno Visnadi! Yeah Cobra Triangle is all luck manipulation and is a bit tedious so good luck. I put a decent amount of work into Double Dragon so I can at least give you a head start once you get a round to that one. Also I am Happy to announce that myself, Samsara, and ArandomgameTASer have teamed up to tackle both Battletoads runs, expect WIPs in the not too distant future : )

With the publication of Wai Wai World this project has reached it's half way point! (well in terms of just number of runs anyway.) When I first started, this project looked pretty daunting but now it really seems doable! There aren't even that many unclaimed runs left which is nice to see too. Well, onward with Battletoads!

I'm also planning a The Combatribes TAS. I'll probably take a while to finish these movies because I'm focusing on other projects right now, but I'll finish all 3 still this year (hopefully).

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Someone. SOMEONE IS ACTUALLY TASING THIS!? Okay, okay, yup, it was nice knowing you. (It's actually not hard to optimize this TAS. Fun Fact.)

wow that would be amazing! Good luck! Yeah as Spikestuff says this TAS isn't actually especially difficult, it's just too boring (in my opinion) so I never managed the motivation to do it. I hope your attempt goes better then mine! Also I noticed you say 'snes' combatribes. This run has some dubious history (I guess form being self published) so you might want to just go to arcade as that is the preferred version it seems, but snes should be fine if obsoletion is the only goal.

Ah, well, I've never dealt with Arcade emulators. I know they are difficult to use, have some crashes and desyncs, so I'll probably go with SNES.

Sadly, the arcade version of The Combatribes is not supported by Final Burn Alpha.

Oops! Thanks, RobynS! Apparently I knew this at one point, as it was in my list of arcade TAS ideas. Reading the Forums might have helped as well. XD I agree with Alyosha that the arcade version should be preferred over the SNES port. BrunoVisnadi, I understand that it is asking a lot of you, but please give the arcade version some consideration. It looks and sounds better, and a 3 player, 1 credit game at maximum difficulty would be amazing! It's never fun to have to learn how to use a new program, particularly a delicate one like FBA-RR, but not every game is a minefield of desyncs and crashes (Magician Lord). In this case, all games that share the Double Dragon III core are quite stable and as fully-featured as just about any game that FBA-RR supports.

And how to improve this TAS? I have no ideas!
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.
