Here's a short WIP of dungeon 8. I saved almost a half minute. Link to video In the room after getting the compass, I found a little improvement of 12 frames, due the fact that I ony need to collect one heart instead of two. But in the second next room the enemy behaviour RNG get so worse that I lost all saved frames. No matter how I tried to manipulate them. And killing those first saves one bomb, which is usefull for dungeon 2. There's also place for a damage boost after getting the master key, but I the room before the boss the enemies let not bypass me.

Wow, it looks like you're getting quite good at tasing this game. :) Only thing I saw was you lost a ton of lag frames the first time you went into the darknut room before the compass. You can wait before entering and have only 3 fireballs spawn, thus reducing lag there. It could be that you'll end up losing time anyway, but if you haven't tried it it's worth a shot. Keep it up!

There are always four fireballs. I tried waiting until I started to lose frames.

Yes!! I glitched Level 5. Should the run contain the glitched or the non-glitched version?

Oh I forgot to mention, that's only a graphical glitch.

Doesn't really matter. I still prefer glitched since it makes the run look "different". Edit: Unless it cost time.

Woah, so THAT is what you meant by glitched.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

I'll finish this run on the glitched version. I will not care what anyone says about it. As it seems the glitched version isn't slower by causing lag.

The run will get finished in near future. I'm currently in the 6th dungeon, but I have some trouble with enemy manipulation again. I saved about 2200 frames yet.

It looks like the run will take a bit longer to finish than expected. I got the worst enemy RNG's in the end of the sixth dungeon I've ever had. I should have saved at least 2350 frames after level 6, but I didn't. This means I have to redo some previous dungeons, in order to save a few frames. I hope I don't lose motivation on it.

I've known about that graphical glitch for quite some time. As an extra, I provided a version of the second quest TAS where level 9 was glitched at the bottom of the submission text. An input file of this glitched version was just an extra and was not not the main submission, as, while it is a cool little glitch to see at first, it just messes up with the experience you are trying to provide. So yeah, I even thought that only level 9 glitched is a bad idea... let alone half of the TAS having these ugly graphics. A definite vote against it being included.

The graphical glitch vanishes after leaving a dungeon. It'll be only the 5th dungeon which is glitched. Of course there will be a few glitched pixels on the sprites, but overall the game looks pretty normal after beating dungeon 5.

As long as it becomes more normal than this, I'm fine.

Awesome! It's really cool that you stuck with this! Going to watch soon. Are you waiting on anything before you submit?

Well, no one. I guess what I was really asking was whether you're going to, and why not if not.

I know of one reason. ;) Read the quote by "TASVideoAgent", not adelikat's.

Today, I thought about what an actual definition for all items could be. I came to "all non-consumption items". This would include the magic shield, but still the meat makes some trouble with this new definition. Since the meat is used once in the 7th dungeon it never vanishes out of the item menu again, even if it's used. It's basically something which comes always back to Link when he exiting the screen, like the boomerang. Here's a short overview of the consumption items, which will not be integrated: • Keys • Rupees • Bombs • (Ememy bait)

Get the bait again. You'll just create arguments if you forego it.

Bait Does the game track it? Yes. When you save after getting it, it's there in your inventory. The game tracks it, of course. Is it irreversible once done? ... Hmm... Actually yes. Sure, it is removed from your inventory when you go spend it on mister grumble grumble. But those things won't come back, so removing the bait from your inventory can only happen a finite number of times. Is it done through non-repeating events? Tricky to look at, but I say yes. Well, technically, shopping can be repeated, but as bait has a binary indicator of "not have" or "have", and its removal is not a repeating event, I would have to say that the acquisition can only happen a very limited number of times. It can't repeat forever, unless you determine that erasing the save is a valid course of action. Does it give you more to do? Of course. Just doesn't feel like 100% if something meaningful just hasn't been done. On the other hand, the shield is reversible forever. You can keep buying it and ditching it at the next opportunity. Therefore, it doesn't fulfill all four of my questions. I am confused why the bait would be considered not 100% yet the shield is, since by my definition, if I adhere to it tightly, I would do it the other way around. Regardless, an upgraded shield is a step away from default starting conditions, and it gives you more to do as well. I say get 'em all. Rupees, keys, and bombs are very reversible and done through very repeatable events. No one should care too much that you didn't fill them up to their respective maximums, as you're no longer there the moment you drop a bomb or fire an arrow, and no one can see your key count after getting the magical one.
