Maybe this was already brought up and lost in the "Other Games" section, but it seems like there should be a topic for suggesting what Game Boy Whatever games would make good time attacks. Here's some I'd like to see:
  • Super Monkey Ball Jr. - like a fast-paced 3D Marble Madness, could do a run of Expert mode in less than 10 minutes
  • Elevator Action - a run of the New game, would be short and fast-paced, and pretty varied with some effort
  • Pocket Bomberman - Normal Game
  • Kuru Kuru Kururin - timed skill-based getting-propeller-thing-through-a-maze game
  • Sonic Advance 1/2
  • Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - sure you can easily play for 100+ hours, but I think it can be done without doing any side-quests or leveling trips, which would make it pretty short
  • Sword of Mana
  • Mario & Luigi
  • Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories
  • Super Mario Advance - I think there are enough significant differences to make the run different and worth watching
And of course:
  • All the Zelda games (Link's Awakening (and DX), Oracle of Ages/Seasons, The Minish Cap)
  • All the Metroid games (II, Zero, Fusion)
  • All the Mega Man games (regular ones, Zero ones, maybe Battle Network)
  • All the Castlevania games
  • Anything but Pokemon

Wario Land 4 might be an interesting thing game to try. Although it might get too boring because you have to find four peices for every stage.

Donkey Kong. Not 'Donkey Kong Land' or 'Country' or any of those, just Donkey Kong. And not Mario vs Donkey Kong either, though that one would also be kinda neat, the original Super Game Boy Donkey Kong. In fact I think that was the title that was launched with the SGB. It was one of my all-time favorite Gameboy games.

I'm kinda wondering if the Tony Hawk games would be anything worth watching. On one hand, it would be kinda cool to see every level done in one combo (or something just as fluent), but on the other hand the games are pretty insanely repetetive and way too long for their content. Also, Boktai would make for a good movie IMO, but you need a patch and hacked ROM to play it through emulation. Fie on that.

I'd actually rather see Wario Land 2 or 3 done before 4. 2 especially has a certain charm to it that 3 and 4 didn't quite seem to recapture. That's just me though.

This would be amazing to watch if done properly. That game has more acrobatics and freedom of control than pretty much any other platformer I can think of, on any system. I really hope someone's up to doing this.

I started it, but I took up LttP instead. I did get the first 8 levels done. iirc, my times on the first four are 98, 98, 97, 94. I don't recall the others.

SaGa / FFL would be fun to at least plan. Well, the first two. Whether you would rely on luck-manipulating the right abilities of Espers or instead relying on the transformations of Monsters (or some combination) would be pretty interesting. And if you had money of course you could use Humans (in 1) or Robots (in 2) pretty effectively. I really don't know what the best team would be for either game.. but I do know that you can run 2 pretty fast with four Robots.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

A run of beating LA in 5 minutes can be done by a human player on a GB system...it doesn't require an emulator...and save states. In fact..I would imagine a time attack would only be mere seconds faster than the fastest possible human run of this... Personally, It would be cool to see an Oracle of Seasons/Ages time attack because no speed run exists and I plan on doing those games someday so it would be nice to have something to go on. LA/LA DX run doesn't really interest me...don't know why. A TMC time attack would interest me. I'd like to see how much faster the game could be beaten over my 2:45 run.

Hate to revive this dying thread, but there's a question in here.

It should be considered a crime on humanity to mention Final Fantasy Tactics without also mentioning Tactics Ogre, in this case Knight of Lodis.

Commander Keen
There's a Commander Keen for GB? Which one? Gamefaqs has no info on this.

Um yeah, I got that when I did a search. I meant, which Commander Keen is it? 1? 4? 6? There are no reviews or FAQs or board activity, which is why I'm asking.

i would like to see a nice run of that old school Kirby's Pinball game. i forget exactly what its called, but its something very similar to "Kirby's Pinball" if done correctly, you could enter each boss second after beginning a level and just luck manipulate the crap out of him. I couldnt see the finished run being over 10 minutes if it was done well.
