It's waaaaaay easier for me and more fair for the contestants if everyone uses the same version of the game. Checksums are for the (U) version, so that's what should be used. That being said, if there's some huge version-exclusive feature or glitch on (J) or (E), I'd like to know about it so I can potentially announce a change over to that version of the game.

We completely forgot to submit the logo for Team Feijoada, so here it is, straight from DTC 6.

Quick word of warning due to a recent discovery: If any team is using the BSNESv115 core as I originally recommended, it does not appear to be deterministic. Please resync/remake the run on the standard BSNES core. I've updated the OP with the new information. EDIT: Oops, this turned out to be a false alarm. Re-updated the OP. Also, we're two weeks in, so I think it's time for the first Physical Challenge! Nah, just kiddin'. How's everyone liking the game so far? Y'all doing okay?

Finally a TASing challenge to both the mind and body. Only when both are truly in harmony could one become optimized themselves.

Without revealing anything, It took awhile to get into the game but at this point I think this was an excellent game choice, even better than my pick for DTC.

The problem with asking a TASer to do pushups is that they're going to intentionally do bad pushups in order to save time.

Pleased to announce that Team 7 is doing well; almost 30k rerecords made across several files including tests. Progress is steady and the results are looking good! The game has enormous depth in terms of both routing, movement optimization, and enemy manipulation, so we're still discovering new techniques and opportunities. This made us adapt the initial work plan in a way that, hopefully, will let us incorporate all of them and result in a much tighter optimized movie. I'm really intrigued as to what other teams will come up with. Fully prepared to see routes and tricks nothing like ours—too bad it's going to take another two months before I can.

As a fun incentive towards winning the contest, I can announce there will be an extra prize: the winners of this DTC may each submit one emote to be added to the Discord server. Terms/conditions: * One emote submission (image and emote name) is allowed for each member of the winning team. This is not transferable. * Your emote submission must be sent in a DM to me on Discord. * Emote submissions are open for one month after the end of the contest and winner announcement. Afterwards, I won't take any more submissions. * Emote submissions must follow TOS and server rules (no obscene material, etc). I reserve the right to reject emote submissions based on these rules. * Emote submissions cannot be animated. * The emotes will stay on the Discord for at least a full year, after which I reserve the right to remove them for any reason (in case I ever need to make space, etc.) I hope this adds a fun extra incentive for the teams :)
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

Happy -1 month anniversary to the end of DTC10! That's right, there is precisely 1 month remaining, and wow, I would not be surprised if most people have forgotten they've entered by now! Keep working for that beautiful prize! I promise I'll use every single one of the winning emotes as often as I possibly can! Wait, no, maybe promising that I'll talk more isn't the best motivator.

Now, now. Don't encourage everyone to put me into first place. I've already gotten there plenty enough for you all. Though I won't exactly make it that easy, so it'll be some sweet stuff at the top if our team misses first place this time. As for Mothrayas' prize, I will be handing it off- what? Non-transferable? Well, my portion of the prize will go unused. So extra encouragement for you all to win, as there will be one unused emote in the TASVideos Discord if I win.

Many of my teammates have been rather busy lately and are very far behind in the progress of this game. If it’s alright with the other teams, I would like to request an extension to the deadline, perhaps by another month or so if that’s alright.

Dunno about a month, but our team is cutting it pretty close as well, with one member completely unavailable, another quite busy, and the remaining two sharing the time zone, so I'd be fine with any extension if only to give ourselves an extra breather (1–2 weeks would be enough for us). We're putting that time to good use, though; I'm extremely confident in our work.

After conversing on Discord with most of the teams, it seems there is a majority agreement to extend the deadline (or at least "I'm okay with it"), counting myself as well, as I am involved with handling submissions for TASGiving this year and extending the deadline past the submission end date would help me relax as well, even if it does seem like quite a while. Hence, the new official end date for DTC10 is Friday, October 1st, 2021. Mark your calendars! Post pictures of your marked calendars and I will openly wonder why you still use a normal calendar when you have the internet right in front of you!

Thanks, we'll definitely benefit from this decision, as we don't have as much free time as we wish/anticipated. In the end, our research will help the final run for sure and increment the community knowledge around this game.

There are officially two (2) weeks left in the contest! Quick reminder that submissions are to be, well, submitted through forum PM or Discord (Samsara#4893). A team is currently in the lead! They have achieved a time! I don't know which team it is or what time it is, but based solely on the nature of how contests work, it must be the case anyway!

Due to the unexpected mass ban of several discord users: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22830, I would like to request further delay to this contest to make up for the lost time. This ban probably affected many people who were participating in this event, including pretty much everyone on my team. I’m not sure how much we want to delay it, so I’ll leave that up to the host.

I think it's pretty safe to say there wouldn't be any objections to this. Being wrongfully banned by Discord is kiiiiiiiind of an issue for a group project. I'm currently setting the new end date as October 12th: One base week of extension, plus one extra day for every day since the original bans. Since there are still DTC participants that are banned, I may continue adding extra days as necessary. LATE EDIT: The date will remain October 12th. You are now officially free to enjoy your ends of September and move your looming dread over the deadline to the start of October.

Since I was asked about this and it is growing increasingly relevant by the day: The earliest point to end input, and the point where all runs will be compared, is entering the door after the final boss. I'll be using a comparable frame, most likely the fadeout after entering, to avoid a potential weird situation where two teams are incredibly close but one barely wins because of early input end. God, it's almost like I'm judging or something. You are free to continue input after that if you want to be fancy and/or shmancy, it will not be counted towards your final time, because that would be terrible of me to do. There's like two weeks left now! Do the dang thing! EDIT: If you don't think you'll finish in time, feel free to submit an unfinished file! It'll be useful for me to make comparisons and could definitely help with the final, super-optimized submission!

Is it too late to request to change teams? because I haven't done a single damn thing, and I want credit for at least providing incredible amounts of encouragement. (not that I've done that either, but I can change)
