i'm beginning work on improving acmlm's nes tetris speed run, yet i have little experience with tool assisted emulation. what is the technique required to input exactly on the frame i want. my procedure is to increment a frame, then immediately press the button i want, but this rarely works as i want it to, and i can't hold down a button, either. any help would be great.

Hold down the button as you advance.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

You're supposed to hold down the button you want to register for the next frame, THEN press the frame advance button.

the problem was that i pressed the same button for every frame. this was the same as holding the button, which was the reason why it messed up.

Yeah, the fastest you can press buttons would be every other frame.

i was almost 200 frames ahead of the previous tetris record with less than 10 tetrises to go, and i made the mistake up loading a saved game after the movie had ended, and then saving on accident. it erased my entire movie, great. i give up.

1) Make backups. Constantly. 2) From the mistake you made, it doesn't sound like your movie should be deleted. But I could be wrong. 3) Did you try this?
