Improvement description

Already when I made [6763] NES The Simpsons: Bart vs. the World by ktwo in 07:15.350, I remember asking myself if there could be a faster route through the pirate ship (Hollywood 1). However, I never investigated it properly and ended up just copying the RTA-route.
After having worked on Bart vs the Space Mutants, I noticed a trick in 'deign's TAS ("fall cancellation") that I wasn't aware of before. I decided to think of places to try it out in Bart vs the World to see if it could save time anywhere. It was when playing around with this trick that I did some more research in the pirate ship stage. It didn't take long to discover a fairly obvious shortcut that was easy to see would save several seconds. The shortcut is TAS-only and therefore not mentioned or used in any of the real-time speedruns and playthroughs, but is still something I feel should have been found when I worked on this game the first time.
Here is a summary of what has changed since the last submission:
  • 16f saved in the Frozen river level by better speed manipulation. I was actually aware of this improvement when making my previous submission. However, since the improvement is immediately lost against the North Pole boss because of the global timer, I didn't include it (I tried, but it lagged more in the last levels and it would have ended up slower).
  • 2f saved in the Pyramid level by better speed manipulation right after the "block snake" section. This time was however not enough to save an end-of-level frame rule (4f), so again no overall time save.
  • 333f saved in Hollywood 1 (the pirate ship stage). Big shortcut by jumping to the right after the first ladder.
  • 1f lost in Hollywood 2 (the mausoleum stage) from random lag.

nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: ktwo strikes again! Another submission where improvements win over [6763] NES The Simpsons: Bart vs. the World by ktwo in 07:15.350.

If anyone is up for it, feel free to create a temp encode. Comments regarding the best ending category: 1) Already implemented in the current submission 2) The same 2f would be saved over the current best ending submission, but then immediately lost due to the global timer 3) Does not work with the best ending route. To get the best ending, the Jolly Roger treasure at the very top of the ship is required and the new shortcut goes in a different direction. (4) Not relevant)

Woa-- I didn't expect to see an improvement! Yes vote, as before UPD: temp encode deleted
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.
