I'd second this... mostly because I have consistent desync problems trying to watch pretty much any smv from this site using the official SNES9x 1.43 for OS X. I'd be willing to try and patch it myself, but I've never dug around in the SNES9x source code. Are nitsuja's changes more or less platform-independent type things, or are they more Windows-specific (DirectX code or the like)? If someone thinks it's reasonably possible, I may try it, but any advice would be appreciated.

I've patched version 7 to work with Linux. I don't know if that's enough to work under OS X though - you'll need to use the X11 version of the code to get all the features working right.

This sounds like it's because Snes9x 1.43 Final uses another timing system than Snes9x 1.43 WIP. Since the Final version includes some desync issues not found in WIP version, most movies here are made with WIP version. (The improved version by nitsuja can play and record files from both versions.) Have you tried playing the files with Snes9x 1.43 WIP (assuming there is such a version for OS X)?

Thanks, Truncated and Nach. That seems to have fixed my desync problems - I wish I'd thought to try that before I complained here.

Just thought i should mention that _very_ few movies (read 1 of 10-20) actually plays in either 1.43 final or the 1.43 wip (both found at that geocities page). Unfortunately im not experienced enough to patch the OS X source code with all changes that has been made - so i can't chip in on debugging / making it work. But now you know :)
