Here are some basic things to get about this game:

Super Jump

This is a frame perfect trick that allows us to jump in a Corkscrew Conk as if it was two jumps combined. It works by tapping the jump button on the first possible frame after starting a dash, which makes Wario jump off the ground a tiny bit but doesn't go into the Corkscrew, only when Jump is pressed two frames later does it create the Super Jump. This move allows Wario to reach high places he normally wouldn't be able to, which also includes jumping over invisible walls and the like.

Dashing

Dashing puts Wario in the fastest state, alternating around 0.350 and 0.320 units per frame while dashing. Doing a Corkscrew will slow down Wario a bit, but sometimes depending on which frame you jump you can make him move at 0.300 or 0.310. it's slightly faster to jump after a dash this way since you minimize the amount of slow down you get from starting a dash. You can also cancel a dash by holding the control stick in the opposite direction Wario is moving, but not when he is in a Corkscrew.

Bunny Hopping.

Slopes can give Wario a bit of speed if you jump off them while moving. Usually you get lots of speed if you land on a slope with a Corkscrew Conk and then jump immediately afterwards, making you faster than a dash. You can preserve this speed with a frame perfect jump afterwards although you lose a little bit every time.
You can add more speed to your movement if you are constantly bunny hopping on a slope, this is seen in the ice caverns in Shivering Mountains after the first Arena Skip and after the first steel door sub-level.

Combat

Wario only has a few moves to attack with in this game (the X and Y buttons are not used at all). It is generally faster to deal with enemies either by dashing into them or perfectly aligning a Corkscrew to basically hit them on every frame possible, same is true for ground pounds.
Sometimes doing the punch and headbutt move is preferable as they can knock out enemies with ease, but generally we try to avoid that when we can.
For big enemies, when you knock them out the become pickup-able, where you can basically throw them around and suplex them. It's also possible to pick them up and move position, this is done by doing a dash and then grabbing the enemy on the same frame you do a jump. While in the pickup state, Wario will de-accelerate, but you can minimize this if you frame perfectly jump to preserve some speed.

RNG

I don't have RNG Values for this game, but what I do know is that RNG is constantly changing from basically every movement he makes. I will often use Wario's coin suck move to influence RNG since it seems to be the easiest way to advance it.

Pause Menu

For every boss in this game, you can leave the fight early by exiting with the Pause Menu. This skips the victory animation at the very end and can save 20-25 seconds each time. For level bosses, the purple monster icon in the book indicates that the boss is marked as defeated and you are able to leave the fight. For World bosses, you will see the key in your inventory.

Stage by stage comments

1-1

First stage is a little rough as I was still getting used to the game in a TAS environment. This level has the only 2 scripted cutscenes in the game and there's no way to skip them. Normally this would be the only Spriteling we’d save in the run but there will be another instance of it later on as part of a setup for a glitch.
Each stage will have a crystal sublevel to collect red crystals for the boss door. We have to wait a bit for the crystal to be loaded into the statue. We can clip into the statue once the animation for the last crystal starts because that's when the trap door becomes active and it's no longer solid ground.
For the Boss fight, we want to suplex them on the edge of the arena so they fall into the void afterwards, this will instantly deal 2 hits of health to them while skipping a cycle. Important to note that each time you damage a boss’s health they will get a little faster.

1-2

This level we skip through alot. The game will have sub-boss fights known as Crystal Entities, and also have Arenas where you fight waves of enemies for about a minute. We can skip both of these in most levels.
We take a different route from RTA to get some crystals that are more along the way. The reason why RTA doesn't do the 2nd crystal we collect is because of RNG, since the crystal spawns in a random place in this level.
The steel doors require an object to suplex with, typically with an enemy. These lead to big platforming levels that are more similar to the ones in Super Mario Sunshine. The one at the end of the level we try to get into while the crystal animations are going.
The boss fight for this stage will go to different places based on RNG. We want to make him move a little a possible when he goes into the ground.
We skip some cycles on the 3rd phase as he will try and spin and spit spike balls at you, but if you're quick enough you can get him to go into phase 4. On the 4th phase we position him back to the center since he is moving there anyways.

World 1 boss

Normally with this boss you would have to jump on their tail that has a sticky orb and ground pound their head to knock them out. But not only can we get an early hit on the boss to instantly knock them out, but whenever they jump to recover, with proper timing you can ground pound in a way that hits their head instantly, making this boss fight extremely quick.

2-1

This is the first level to introduce new techniques.
The first sub boss with the skeleton hand has an invisible wall blocking you from moving forward. If we get smacked by the hand, Wario will be flattened, and when he gets up, he moved slightly forward. That's enough to get him to bypass the invisible wall.
There's a brief moment where Wario jumps over some fencing to avoid another Crystal Entity.
There's another sub-boss skeleton arm we can bypass with just a super jump, followed by bunny hopping.
We make our way past the doors of the mansion to make our way to the basement. Angling our way through the crack in the floor we can skip the arena fight.
This then reaches us to the first Crystal Skip in the game. This was a theorized skip first proposed by RTA member Dangerless all the way back in 2014: https://tasvideos.org/Forum/Topics/10800?CurrentPage=1&Highlight=368614#368614. This was to highlight the way the Bye Bye balloon in both Horror Mansion and Beanstalk Way were low enough to the ground that allowed Wario to clip out of bounds. Since the loading zone is always below the door, simply touching it is enough to get into the fight without collecting crystals. However, the Bye Bye Balloons weren't enough to get Wario to swing far enough into the loading zone, so something else needed to be figured out. That's where the Anikiron come into the picture, these large armored turtle enemies have very large hitboxes. Using these, we can position them under the bye bye balloon and use the hitbox to force Wario not just further under ground, but also enough to swing him towards the loading trigger.
One thing to note about using the Anikiron is that for all enemies in the game, if they are moved too far away from their original spawn point, anytime they go into an idle state they will immediately despawn. For the Anikiron, them shelling up does not cause them to despawn.
For the main boss we try to do the following hits by getting Wario to slightly fall off the edge so that when we spiral down for the suplex, the distance is around 0.3 or 0.1. We use the pillars to instantly knock out the boss for another pick up suplex.

2-2

This stage is completely broken now due to a few tricks.
For the longest time, this stage was the only one to have a completely unskippable arena fight. But not only is there a way to skip it in a TAS, but it also skips the entire stage as well. The trick is called “Spriteling Storage”, and is the only other time in the run where we will save another Spriteling. Anytime Wario saves a Spriteling, It temporarily disables the out of bounds triggers. Using RNG to get a bomb, we can throw at the Spriteling box at the ledge and get Wario to fall down right as the box opens. This lets us fall straight to the end of the level.
However, we still need a way to get into the boss door without crystals. Lucky for us, the Bye Bye balloon is low enough to get us out of bounds, and there happens to be floor collision inside the tent. This allows us to reach the loading zone with a super jump and turn this into one of the shortest levels in the run.
For the stage boss, the last two hits are the ones where the boss will switch up it's attack pattern. As soon as you do damage to it on the last two hits, he will immediately move to the other side. This means he would have traveled two times in one cycle. To reduce this, we simply throw him to the other side so that he will only travel once for each cycle.

World 2 boss

This boss will attack itself if Wario knocks out one of the heads and causes it to spit fire at itself.
For the 3rd and 4th hits, there is an attack that it can do where it will spit sticky orbs at you and waste time. If we attack with the correct timing, we can skip this and make the fight go by quickly.

3-1

This is the longest stage in the run. The ice slides allow Wario to gain a bunch of speed from jumping off of it. Which will later be used to skip an arena.
The Sub-Boss in this level has a glitch which allows the hurtbox from a suplex to remain in place if we do one from 3.8 height. This allows us to do quick damage on the boss without needing to quickly get another snow barrel enemy spawn immediately.
The Arena skip can be done with careful bunny hopping across the walls. For the following sublevel with the 5 boxes, the pattern is determined as soon as the level loads, so we try to manipulate a quick pattern. Hitting the switch is unnecessary here.
The following arena skip can be done by just hugging the upper wall.
There is one more crystal we need before entering the boss, luckily a steel door is just right next to it. We can cut down a bit of time by entering the door right as another Crystal appears over Wario’s head, saving about a second.
For this level boss, we want to manipulate him to drop 3 more rocks after the initial 2 hits (which happens because when he freezes wario, he will drop down to try and attack Wario). With some careful juggling, we can basically stunlock him without allowing him to go back to his usual pattern.

3-2

This is the other level that had the original Crystal Skips theorized back in 2014.
We make our way through the level without doing any sub-levels. We can avoid some sub-bosses by using super jumps, one of these involves going up on a ledge and doing a massive one to bypass the invisible wall around the sub boss.
After avoiding another Arena and another Crystal Entity, we can use another Anikiron to clip out of bounds and into the boss fight.
The spider boss we can get some early hits on him which will also push him more to the edge of the stage, this just makes it easier to whale damage on him and keep him stunlocked.

World 3 Boss

This is Red Brief J, he is a beefy fellow
You can't do hits on him, the only way to damage him is by get him into the lava. When he does his charging attacks, that is when you can knock him into the lava. He will do some moves that we can try and reduce the amount of time they take. Either by ground pounding the arena which cancels out his attacks, or by intentionally getting hit by one of them. When he does his charging attacks, we want to get him to the edge of the arena as it cuts the attack short and saves a bunch of time.

4-1

Part way through the level we get another use of the Anikiron, this time using it not to clip into a boss arena, but to clip through a wall. This saves a bit of time not only from having to traverse through a long section of level, but it also avoids having to lock the camera in place since doing a super jump to enter the lower level will cause the camera to lock to the top floor until Wario enters a sublevel.
The Arena skip can be done by doing a super jump which gets Wario high enough to clip through an invisible wall.
Once we reach the level boss for this arena, we want to get him to do his stick twirl attack. If we were to attack him normally, he will automatically do a spin attack once he reaches below a certain amount of health, attacking him during the stick twirl avoids this issue.
Every hit we do, we want to make sure he goes back into the same cup he came out from this saves half a second or so each time.

4-2

This is the last level to have a crystal skip, even with the rather lengthy setup, this saves a minute and a half.
We need to game over in order to pull this off, so we intentionally take damage from spikes at the beginning to get Wario down to half a heart, then we must carry an Anikiron to the top, after attempting to clear out the enemy at the ladder entrance, we can then use the Anikiron to get Wario stuck in the wall. From here we need to get the enemy to shoot at Wario, so we attack it to force it to shoot bombs everywhere and cause Wario to die.
The way this works is if Wario is stuck in a wall and dies, once he respawns there is a small window where he is able to clip through the wall. Here it's needed due to the slanted wall making the clip more difficult to do, which is why the game over strategy is necessary.
Once we are in, we fight the boss like usual, by throwing hands.

World 4 boss

This is yet another boss we can stunlock by throwing barrels at it. The final hit we do at the edge of the boat to make quick time with.

Black Jewel

There's not much to say about this boss fight as the original releases of this game does not contain a whole lot to the fight. The Japanese Release contains an entire new 2nd phase that has a lot more going on. However the reason we aren't using that version for the TAS is because many of the glitches were patched in that release, so there's very little reason to use it over the American release.
As far as the fight goes, there is one piece of speed tech worth mentioning. This is one of few bosses in the game that lets you deal a single skull damage if you start a spin attack but don't fully finish it. This is much faster than just doing a suplex each time, and likely saves a second each time it's performed.

Other comments

Would like to thank a few people:
Inconsistent, who was able to provide input for some areas for the game and also helped compile the lua scripts to monitor speed values.
Dangerless, who was able to do a bunch of tests and research into the Crystal Skips and how to make them RTA viable.
dip92, who has done a ton of documentation on the Red Brief J fight and how to optimize it.
Ruffeline, the current World Record holder as of this submission, who’s runs I used as reference material.
theepossum, who made a bunch of IL TASes for this game who provided a lot of useful information for how to go about later stages.
And the rest of the Wario World speedrunning community. All of who helped provide feedback to the various WIPs and showed enthusiasm to the project. You all were fantastic and I feel grateful for all the work you put into this game over the years.

Tegron: Claiming for judging.

Tegron: This is a truly amazing run, I watched the entire WIP and followed the entire progress, I'm surprised by the variety of techniques and glitches the game has to offer. Everything is well explained. From what I've seen, there isn't a no-restrictions run in Any%, but the TAS is over 12 minutes faster than the RTA in No Diamond Skips. Great job, guys!

What an incredible movie to start this week! Another game from the Wario franchise, this time with surprising material that goes beyond expectations. He has a treasure mission and improve the castle, but not without doing Super Jumps, Bunny Hopping, skipping a bunch of crystals, clipping through floors, skipping some fights, doing entertaining boss fights and even find a crazy strategy skip on 4-2! That was entertaining all the time while having room transition scenes. Yes vote for me. I believe this run deserves a Star :)
