Hello! I found a new error in Gods and managed to improve the time. Almost a half of the game is now skipped. 6 first minutes are identical with the previous movie, though.
Here are the same old explanations (with some additional comments):
  • (1:03:18) This monster must be killed to avoid collision damage
  • (1:11:00) One monster should appear here, but it doesn't! I don't know why! Lucky me! (I can play 3 frames faster to this point, but then the monster appears no matter what I do. I'm not sure if this should be regarded as luck manipulation.)
  • (1:40:50) The fireball saves time in the boss fights
  • (2:01:30) Must stop here for a moment to manipulate the stone gargoyles (Is this luck manipulation? I could probably play a couple of frames faster here, but it is likely that the gargoyles would awake in different order and cause trouble.)
  • (3:31:14) One problem here is, that the effect of the jump potion is still on, so I can't jump over the snake. If you think some death looks badly used, look again or try doing better yourself. (You can't!) :)
  • (5:36:52) Just like in most games, you can shoot only 3 shots at a time
  • (5:54:17) Usually you die when the health is 0, but sometimes not! (Actually, the health is only graphically 0)
Tricks and programming errors:
  • Fast turn: press up before you turn to skip part of the turning animation
  • Bomb jumping: use the impact of the bomb to jump higher
  • Bomb climbing: get the bomb and shoot continuously to go up
About the new thing... Unfortunately, I have (tried a lot, but) not managed to use this shortcut with less than 3 lives. Another bad thing is that health must be refilled because the bomb hurts. Anyway, this is super fast completion!
For extra fun: start a new game after the playback has stopped.

Voted yes because the movie was entertaining with all the dying, even though I never played the game before this TAS. This seems like a game with really clumsy controls, yet you had no problem maneuvering. That glitch you used at the end was just....wow. At first I thought you ended playback too early. The glitch almost on the same level as the Zelda II glitches. Could you explain this glitch? P.S. Starting the game after this run is very funny. Whoever encodes this run should at least start a game afterwards to show what happens.

There are many strange and wonderful things that can happen when you fall off the edge of the world. I don't know much about programming, so I have no idea what exactly causes the ending to happen. If someone can give a better answer, please do.
