• Abuses programming errors in the game
  • Takes damage to save time
  • As fast as possible
  • No missed shots
  • Plays at hardest level
OK, this is last version that I make for this game. I made best that I could, below the some considerations about this film:
  • Version 5 is "1.966 frames" more faster than Version4, or 32:46s more faster.
  • I used Excel to compare times in every moment of this game. Subdivide levels in many parts to compare two movies.
  • Frame perfect movie. Slashes and jumps, menus, in EXACT frame necessary to action.
  • 0:00:34 - First Glitch encountred. Move mutch faster than game engine prepare the sub boss battle.
  • 0:00:41 - New route after glitch.
  • 1:10:50 - After defeat boss, move to right to prevent lag.
  • 1:37:56 - Sprite Glitch. Press jump in frame correct before touch the wall
  • 1:40:00 - Glitch. Move in background of Stage.
  • 2:07:00 - Jumps consecutives make the ship to go up more faster.
  • 2:47:00 - Shotcut
  • 3:23:30 - Another Sprite Glitch. Awessome!!!
  • 4:01:00 - New position tecnique for the killing First Orbe
  • 5:32:00 - New route! More faster!
  • 5:53:00 - New position tecnique for the killing Second Orbe
  • 6:06:00 - New route and position to killing Eye with lasers
  • 7:20:00 - The Final Battle... Strider Hiryu shows to all its force and courage in finishes battle of the game. Simply awessome! Master MEIO owned!

I'd forgotten how completely different this game is from the NES version... It's not really all that impressive, but it's clearly well-optimized. Clean work. Thumbs up. Yes vote.

Here's another movie that doesn't look that great, but just because the game is a bit slow and boring. I own it and played it a lot as a kid, so I can confirm the movie is definitely played beyond mortal capabilities. Why not vote yes?

One hell of a movie; it's definitely worth publishing. (The only reason I'm not voting Yes is that I can't vote yet.) Not sure why anyone would call this a slow and boring game, though. When I was growing up, Strider was one of my favorite arcade games at the bowling alley's arcade. Kind of a shame that the Genesis port is only a mediocre port of the arcade classic. -- Update: Can vote now and did vote yes.

Voted yes. It's a good improvement on the previous version. The only thing I thought of was health management near the end, I remember previous movies all saved up health and took damage on the rematches with the bosses in the end. But perhaps it was better spent somewhere else.

When going to the first midboss in stage 1, if you run fast enough you can jump at the edge of the small ledge (that retracts when you fight the boss) and skip the boss encounter entirely. The main problem is the three downwards moving spikes have to all be up for you to run past them and gain enough speed. Anyway, I don't know if that's useful for shaving off some time (not sure if the spike movement can be manipulated) but figured I'd mention it.
