As helpful as that may be, nothing Cpadolf asked for is listed on that page.

No, but if you bothered to look closely, it does give you a fairly specific range where his values are stored. A creative hacker would be able to figure things out from there. Though it really depends on what that page is demonstrating; SRAM wouldn't be useful, but actual RAM would be. Eh.

Does anyone have any useful memory addresses for this game? I'm mainly looking for x/y position/subpixelposition and x/y speed/subpixel speed. Please post if you have them :)
I'm not a fan of VBA's interface. If this were a different emulator, I'd be using a built-in memory viewer, Lua, blah blah blah... You're going to have to verify them yourself using whatever memory viewer you use, but hopefully these are the addresses you're looking for. Soma's X and Y coords (both 16-bit): 03007CE4 03007CF4 Soma's X and Y speeds (probably 8-bit): 03007DC6 03007D52 Edit: Added the X speed addy. Thanks, Eternaljwh.

I'd use one of the "turn into a giant monster and accelerate across the screen" souls to check on that... I thought there was a TAS that used one, but I can't seem to find it in my collection.

I've watched the lastest Julius TAS and it's really amazing, but I'd like to know why does he need to fight the Headhunter boss ? Why can't it be skipped ? Thanks =)

Julius's attack power (and his defense) increase with each boss that he kills. Headhunter's sufficiently not-out-of-the-way to be worth killing for the increases speed against Graham. The other bosses (Manticore, Giant Golem, Death) are all too far off the path.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Julius run where he fights every boss. But then again, it's probably just me.

I think there are plenty of people who would like to see such a run, though I imagine that there would be a lot of whining if the question of a 5th category for this game was seriously brought up...

at that point, it might depend on which run comes first. the 100% souls run sounds like only a dream at the moment. safe to say a Julius all boss run would show up much quicker.

It doesn't have to be published alongside the other AoS movies. Any editor can as well link to it in the movie description if you're up for making such a run.

I'll be OK with TASing one more AoS movie myself after I finish a few halted runs, as long as you haven't been bored of seeing my name appear in GBA Castlevania submissions. (what poor game choices!) ;) EDIT:
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do

No, not just you, I'll throw my hat into that ring. Same goes for Maxim all bosses and Richter all bosses when the time comes, boss rape is always welcome.

Maxim all bosses has been done, actually.

i'm kinda worried about that one being too repetetive. but that's for another thread. Julius would make the best all boss run because he doesn't have a spammable move to rape bosses with. boss fights would look very diverse and creative. it means having to sit through twice as much OOLAY, but i think we can make that sacrifice.

The problem with SotN in general is just how powerful the characters are. To keep things remotely interesting I think you'd have to outlaw Richter's item crashes and Alucard's spells (including the shield spells).

putting a restriction on glitches is one thing. but on weapons, that seems silly.

Which would make a more entertaining run? That's all that really matters in the end.

Ah, you're right, thanks for reminding me about it I completely forgot this existed. Time to watch it again. =) I agree that the Julius all-boss run will wind up probably being the most entertaining simply because Julius isn't totally broken. Avoiding item crashes for the Richter all-boss run would help. Instead of pressing triangle and the boss dying seconds later while Richter sits in the corner reading, he'll be flipslicing and whipcrackin' like a lunatic... but the boss will still be dying seconds later. Certainly though from an entertainment perspective that would be preferable to watching Richter finish a novel in the rain to cool off from all of his sprinting.

Can anyone explain to me how to manipulate the final hit on a monster so that a soul appears? i've been trying a bunch of different combinations, such as facing different directions, pressing buttons, and even entering the menu. But it seems no matter what, the drop doesn't change. I've seen it done in published TAS'es, how is this achieved?

I don't really know so you'll have to wait until people who do comes around. But I think at least that RNG is not called every frame, but only when you perform certain actions, for example backdashing or using your weapon. So just waiting and killing the enemy one frame later all the time won't do any good, as won't actions that does not change RNG.

This movie is incredibly sweet. Amazing job on luck manipulation, too.

Looks awesome Yrr. I only have one question though, which I probably should have mentioned ages ago: Why get 2 rotten meats? One rotten meat is more than enough, as the small amount of extra HP you get back from using the succubus soul on graham aren't enough to impede on the bonuses given by the lubicant soul.

My brother played ritcher without crashes and it was very interesting to watch and I bet more to play, but it wasn't a spamfest of specials and had a lot of dodging, since fingers hurt.
