(again, i'm sorry for this undo count. I tried few times (loading states etc. each time). At the last stage i neded to take a break (my EYES XD). So, the total UNDO COUNT is 2149)
So, the pacifist run is here as i said before.....
  • recorded on FCEU 0.98.13
  • number of frames: 37851
About the run:
Stage 1- no problem (probably it have the same time completition as krieg TAS)
Stage 2- i beat boss slighty faster than krieg's (i think).
Stage 3- skipped one platworm somwhere in the middle (when first hovering, stone platworm is). Slighty slower at the BOSS.
Stage 4- No idea....i dunno is that stage (and boss fight) faster than krieg's
Stage 5 & 6- same as above
Stage 7- about these spiked "arm".....i was able to easily avoid them (they were "working" in other pattern ( or the same pattern but they were bit too late)). Also i missed one R power up (but that didn't slow me down).
Stage 8-About this "long" alien....krieg was "hugging" this wall the most of time (sometimes jumped back to avoid these alien larvas). I actually founded "blind spot" and probably i hitted the exact most to the left pixel of this long alien....four extra hits= little faster dealing with monster..... Also....kidna slowed down at the very end (these "spider" things), but i easily destroyed this alien's heart. That's all. (i don't know how much frames that run is faster, but i bet is something arround 80-100 frames (i didn't checked that submission here, but on youtube). Thank you for reading. Have fun!

adelikat: Rejecting. While faster than the currently published run, this still needs some work. Pay more attention to the frame counts and try to make sure every stage & boss is equal or faster than the current run. Do not miss shots and try to hit bosses at the earliest possible times. Good luck.

Just to point about rerecording. You can continue your recording later and keep the undo count by opening the movie file you were making and loading a savestate while it's playing (be sure that read-only is off).

Oh, ok, thanks for the tip.

I am starting to wonder if you are familiar with these runs: http://tasvideos.org/movies.cgi?id=151 http://tasvideos.org/movies.cgi?id=114 http://tasvideos.org/1052S.html While this run is 2 seconds shorter than krieg's pacifist run, it is full of mistakes. I suspect 15-20 seconds could be shaved off this run. 1) Everyone one agreed that you should get power-ups, this includes getting the spread gun or at least the laser (might be faster since you can avoid hitting unecessary enemies easier) 2) You don't shoot the boss's as soon as possible, instead you wait until you get close, this is costing you lots of time 3) Don't waste shots, that looks bad in a TAS. There are many places where you held autofire and after a min-boss was destroyed to allowed to it fire off unecessary shots, avoid this. 4) Jumping costs 1 frame. Not much but it would be worth trying to avoid any unecessary jumps (I only saw 1 or 2). There are lots of good moments in this run though. I encourage you to try again. You are showing lots of improvment. Look at the runs I posted and compare frame counts to make sure you are doing things as fast as possible. Good luck.

Yes i am....(but i watched first two at youtube, the last one is JAPANESE VESION (where you can skip these "next stage" screens completly (saving ~20 sec.)

I know it has some mistakes (couldn't get rid of them), but......15-20 SECS. ?! It's not possible (at least in U version).[/quote]

duh.......my question is. Did krieg use weapon powerups? No. And that's what i wanted to do. Complete the game as fast as i can without any unneccesary casualities and WITHOUT powerup (exept for R and B).

maybe....i just didn't checked my movie frame by frame.

you are right, but i MUST be sure that an enemy is beaten (i don't want to lose life>>).

I know that. I tried to jump as less as possible.

Yes, but watching the .fcm file allows you to watch them frame by frame and compare frame counts with your own.

Weapon upgrades + better boss fights + better precision. I think 15 seconds is conservative. And you CAN get rid of mistakes, keep re-recording until you get it right.
maybe....i just didn't checked my movie frame by frame.
You should definately do this. The authors of published movies certainly do. We are striving for PERFECTION here.
you are right, but i MUST be sure that an enemy is beaten (i don't want to lose life>>).
? That is what re-records are for! That can easily be corrected.

You should plan on spending more than one day working on a run like this. Runs of this difficulty will usually require weeks, or months. I hope you regain the motivation to try again soon. Good luck.

It's been a while since I've played the game, but I believe that the weapon upgrades increase the number of hits required to kill the bosses. This would lead me to believe that getting weapons, especially the spread gun, would lead to a slower time.

This is not true. All weapons do exactly 1 damage point to a boss (as verified by viewing the ram address). Perhaps you are thinking of the last boss of SuperC in which the regular weapon does extra damage.
