I've become obsessed with golf games for my emulators. If I were to make a -18 (at least a birdie on every hole), would it be something for the boards to consider a decent movie?

Golf games rely on some pretty basic physics, one of which places a limit on how far you can drive a ball. I wish I could do -40, but the best I have ever done is -22 (that's a birdie on all Par 3 and Par 4 holes and eagles on Par 5 holes) At best, I could do -26 w/o cheating (and THAT would take forever!) Hence, why I asked if a -20 would be suitable for these boards.

Hmmm... This is actually something I could try. Nes open golf would maybe suit it better, cause it has simpler physics, but this is the wrong forum section for that. I think I might actually try :) In any case, it would be interesting to watch, VERY interesting!

This isn't really a doublepost or a bump, more a cry for help :) I have started doing a movie out of this game, and I have so far gotten to hole 4. I have realized that the wind isn't random, but is decided once you start the game. This has given me problems on some holes, but should be avoidable. Hole 3 is what gave me biggest problems so far, I had to do it that way, I couldn't get it further, and the putt freaked me out... In any case, here's the four first holes: http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload8/hiogolf.zip Use the rom with the same name as the smv file. Constructive feedback and critisism appreciated! Edit: Now I've reached hole 12, I got unlucky with the wind on hole 11, and went on forever with trying to pitch in an eagle, I failed :( It just wouldn't get in, no matter the settings. I've updated the zip file with the new movie. Edit 2: The link here is redundant, check the main page in submissions for the full movie.

personally I think unless the golf course revolved around insane ricochets or other such planning(kirby's dream course anyone?), a golf game in which it is hard but possible to get a hole in 1-3 every course by hitting the ball into the hole with no interferences in between would be somewhat boring to play and watch.

I agree that a time attack of Kirby's dream course would be incredibly fun to watch, this is not that kinda game though. This is a normal golf game, and if you've ever played golf (which I do), it's extremely interesting to watch incredible results made. Be sure to watch my movie, I admit, a few holes aren't that funny, cause the wind messed it up, but most are. Also, I've only got past hole 11, I'll move on "tomorrow", but it's 3.25am over here right now :S Also, this is my first time attack ever, so give me a break :P
