This is an epic space adventure in a hurry.
  • aims for fastest time
  • manipulates luck
Starflight is a large space exploration game, very much like Star Control 2. You are supposed to gather resources and interact with various alien species on your quest to destroy the Crystal Planet. However, the initial resources are enough to complete the game.
Shortly: Get egg and orb. Blow the planet.

Here's my flythrough:
Name the captain: A
Recruit the crew: a human called A
Assign "the crew" to all positions on the ship: science officer, navigator, engineer, communications, doctor.
Sell class 1 engine, buy class 4 engine.
Name the ship: A
Buy fuel with the rest of the money.
Travel to the solar system at {143, 115}.
Encounter droids.
Answer "no" to their questions.
Manipulate luck so that the droids won't attack you.
Pick up Black Egg (a bomb) from the surface of the planet.
Travel to the solar system at {132, 165}.
Encounter droids again.
Answer "no" to their questions.
Manipulate luck so that the droids won't attack you.
Land on the planet to pick up Crystal Orb (needed to penetrate the defences of the Crystal Planet) and manipulate luck to get a good amount of fuel from the nearby resources.
Travel to the solar system at {192, 152} to blow the Crystal Planet.
Watch the ending two times in a row to hear the drums go out of synch.
Note: Input can be ended earlier, but it makes the movie longer.

I watched this a few times and could not decide whether to submit it or not, so here it is. Please keep the debate civilized.

Truncated: I have decided to reject this movie because of low entertainment value.

Honestly, I didn't get this movie. I guess I should've played the game to understand anything. The flythrough plan is solid, though, so I don't have any complaints. Besides, the ending shot (with that overgrown insectoid presenting a pile of… something to the main hero) was pretty hilarious. I am assured that the movie is optimal, but such kind of games doesn't ring any bell with me. So I will vote meh.

so THAT'S what this game is called! I had a cousin who had this game like 15 years ago and I HATED this game. But for some reason, I was always interested in playing it again, and I never could figure out what it was called. Sweet! What a surprisingly quick beating of the game, even. Looked good and interesting, though obviously confusing for someone who hasn't played the game. I like movies that skip everything you're supposed to do and just cut right to the end, it just feels so wrong and yet so right.

This game is absolutely huge. I remember when I first played it and just cruised around forever without beating it. Can't believe you can beat it so fast! Yes vote all the way.

Wow, I get to see it. Heh, I recommended this game long ago here (it was kind of a request). It was huge and hard game; I couldn't finish it myself, but I knew it that it can be finished very fast. I think it's pretty surprisingly faster than I thought. I thought it might be 5 min in TAS but you made it in 2:53. So I'll give it a yes.

Never played this game before (and have no inclination to now that I've seen this movie). It did nothing to capture my attention and I quickly got tired of seeing you just fly, then fly some more, then fly a little bit more, then for a change of pace, do some more flying. Sorry, no vote from me.

What an uninteresting game :/ I found overall for the run to be dull from beginning to end, but I do appreciate that is was beaten quite quickly compared to a normal playing of the game. That keeps me from voting no. I will vote meh instead.

Sorry Aqfaq my man :( But I have to vote no. I unfortunately did not find this run to be entertaining.

The movie description is inaccurate; the continuum fluxes (wormholes) are never used.

Thank you, boct1584. I fixed the description. I'm not totally confident with the English that I used, so feel free to edit the text further.
