Looks good so far! But I'm no Kirby player expert.

Looks good! I'm really glad you have the patience and motivation to take on this project. It's a tough game to run. Looking forward to more WIPs!

Sorry for no updates recently. I found a possible 9 frame improvement in 1-1, but due to an extra enemy in a warp star cutscene, I lose to much frames afterwards. I tried to get rid of him, but I couldn't succeed. I'll go on and ignore those 9 frames by now.

I think that's a good idea. The way this game lags, I'd be surprised if you were able to save any time with an improvement that early on.

After watching AGDQ and seeing TASes get some representation, I decided to come back here for the first time in years just to see what's going on... and then one of the most recently posted in NES threads is this, which is the game that got me into TASing originally. I'm probably too out of touch with techniques and stuff to really offer improvements or suggestions for that WIP but I'm definitely anticipating more of them and/or the completed run. I commend you for being able to put up with all the lag.

World 1 is finally done. I could almost saved 5 seconds over JXQ's TAS. Here's a WIP.

It's a tough game to TAS. I'm sure all of them were necessary.

Good job! The way you swallow the Wheelie in 2-2 looks nice and fast. I assume it's not any faster to use the beam on those laggy enemies trapped in the staircase before that battle?

Sadly not, the beam creates a lot of lag itself, only in a few cases it is faster to kill some enemies with the beam.

This looks very good; your level of detail so far is impressive. Good luck in continuing this TAS!

Awesome use of the wall-clipping trick! That caught me totally off-guard. And that Meta Knights battle does not look easy to optimize. Great job!

Here's a very short WIP. This saves 3 seconds, but it is very hard to get it. When you inhale the second enemy (the first trapped one) you have to be in a x position less than 241 to manipulate the enemies position and then when you inhale the third enemy a very specific subpixel position is needed in order to move right below the corners of the block without loosing speed and not to get hit by the attack. There's also a shitload of lag frames. Link to video

wow, i didn't know this thread was active :p I just watched your 2-4 minboss video. I wonder if my strategy is faster even if you need to copy UFO there. Here's mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQgA1af875Q#t=6m58s

Your strat looks faster. I can get an UFO from the enemies trapped in the stairs and then attack with the UFO.

https://archive.org/details/2-3comp My TAS was suboptimal but it's still 6 frames faster than yours. I ripped my 2-3 from my ability-less TAS. edit: I tested my kill clock strategy briefly, I saved 332 frames. I know you can go more further.
