I just made a Aesthetic Form outta this. Only few enemies destroyed (getting the speedups and clearing the way in last stage + 2 annoying bees). Few miss shots but they doesn't really ruin the whole thing. I think bosses are beaten fast as possible. I die at the end of the movie but it's okay :). I ended the movie as I beat the boss. (no initials in the high-score :T) No hits Only Speed powerups Hardest Difficulty Usual Playaround Movie http://tasvideos.org/queue.cgi?id=235

I just watched it. My 2 cents: Good movie, but honestly, I was a lot more impressed with tviks' Gradius III movie, by comparison. He manages to squeeze through all kinds of impossible-looking obstacles, while it seems like you intentionally distance yourself from bullets and whatnot. With tviks' movie, I kept laughing and going "oh shit!", "what the fuck?" "how the hell?", etc. Yours didn't have the same effect. I don't think it was as creative. If you re-submit, take some more risks and really thread some needles, if you know what I mean. I do like the death at the end, though. Nice touch. Oh, and pick a more interesting character, like Michael or the stick-figure guy. Those insane characters are half the reason to play the Paro series.

Hmm, the ship itself is couple speedups slower than in gradius-series. And the ship itself is quite bigger than in gradius. If I would have gone into the haystack of bullets one of em would have hit me for sure. I just took the way I found the most fitting for each enemy wave or such. Oh, and I played this with only a slight slowdown. I know you can do a much better stuff with frame by frame but I don't have enough skill/will to do that. My first attempt to do a aesthetic form so... Perhaps someday I'll go for another try but now I have a new game I'd like to try to make Time Attack on.

OmegaFlareX, you mean you weren't laughing and yelling in surprise at the game itself?! I mean...that was honestly the funniest movie I've seen next to the Morimoto "Mario 3" movie (the first one I ever watched), because it was so...out there. The music, the enemies, the background! The designers obviously didn't want to just do another "space shooter"...but I'm surprised they were cleared to do such a wacky project... Anyway, I think mazzneko did a good job with this, although I must admit the Gradius 3 video was a bit more fancy...but the bullets were certainly coming fast and furious here. Great job, mazzneko, and thank you for players.

well, if you have never played the game you had as much fun as if you had played it yourself, wich is not the point of timeattacking.

Tell me about it. None of the Parodius games made it to the US, if I remember right. =P Go get yer hands on Sexy Parodius (arcade, PlayStation, or Saturn)...one of the levels is a trip through the girls' shower, and the boss is a big penguin with a bubble-shooting toilet on his head. FREAKY AS ALL HELL. O_O

The game looks great, and I have no complaints about how you played the auto-scrolling parts. Lots of dodging, bobbing, and weaving. But when the auto-scroll stops, you have to be very good, at least resembling perfect. You are not good enough at these parts. You miss many, many shots. The boss fights seem very slow, which might be the nature of the game, but it seems like you have more opportunities to shoot then you actually use. I also suggest trying the other "ships" to see if one them shoots faster than Vic. That might help.

Good point there, but I've owned the Deluxe pack on Saturn for a while so the shock value has worn off a bit. But don't get me wrong, it's still absolutely fucking nuts, and I'm really surprised at how well the music turned out in the SNES version. It's not quite as good as the arcade/Saturn/PS1 games, but Konami did a great job with what they had to work with.
