Anyone played this yet? It's actually a fairly fun platformer; which is surprising this late in the GBA's life. Plenty of tricks in the game to make an interesting TAS; especially if bugs in the engine are discovered to make it even better :P

As the person who wrote the music to the game, I wholeheartedly support this :) Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the engine and I don't know if I can really do a project like this myself. I'd love to see the game broken, though.

I just spent a while playing around with the first Legend of Spyro, A New Beginning. My fix is having troubles providing me with the second game... is it very similar to the first? If so, I guess it could be fairly swift, but I don't see anything special there. Combat can be quite quick by rapidly mixing up jumping attacks, the ground combo and breath attacks. L+R doesn't do anything glitchy. Charging looks a bit faster than running. The air attack looks like it makes you fall faster (not the headbutt drop thingy).

As far as i know, TEN is very different from ANB, but i haven't played ANB myself, so... Anyway, TEN is very, very good, awesome music, great graphics, a bit of Metroidvania inspiration, and a combo system so cool that it's begging to be broken apart by a competent TASer. My only concern is with the fact that IMO Hard Mode is definitively the mode to be played on, but you need to finish the game first in order to unlock it... I think we should allow starting from a save for this game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QdnDl_9Tbw - 50-hit combo, very very impressive if you've played the game before. http://forums.penny-arcade.com/showthread.php?t=29570 - Most detailed thread on the game i've found so far around the internet, after all, the guy who started it is one of the main developers of the game. Oh, and since the music guy is around, might as well ask; can you please release some kind of looping version of the music? Like, GSF music format? Yeah, i know you guys prefer releasing arranged stuff and getting more money out of it, but hey, CD music doesn't loop. Also, why even the overworld theme is awesome? I mean, most of the people playing this game will only hear the first 10 seconds of it. It should have also appeared as the staff roll theme, because then everybody would be presented to its full glory at least once during a playthrough.

I decided since my childhood "blessed" me with this game I feel like I want to tas it and to beat it as fast as possible (and with normal stock health) This is what I've done up to the part of these 1 jump high blocks which I changed because it was slow. Bump might I add. I got up to the first enemy and killed it. Question was that fast enough? (Btw official WIP#1)

It is recommended to play on the hardest difficulty. Other than that I never played the game, so I cannot give any feedback.

Sadly the hardest difficulty is Normal and the easiest is easy, they couldn't be bothered adding hard :(

Nice job. Have only played this Spyro for a little bit, so there isn't much I can add.

Fun fact: When you first play it there is Easy and Normal mode, when you finish it on Normal you get Dark Spyro Mode....... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.... Restarting it will be a long time when I get back to it *head hits table several times*.

Actually there is hard mode in this game. It's unlocked after beating normal, and Dark mode is unlocked after beating hard. Dark mode in short: normal difficulty, dark spyro(regenerates health and magic very fast), so I think you should stick to hard not dark

I mentioned that already hence the rage. and plus it's a better chance to get a tas up on the hardest difficulty setting.

Now instead of doing the hardest difficulty, the slot for Easiest difficulty is possible to do. There would only be two true branches > Any% and 100% and two true difficulties to use these branches > Easiest and Hardest Thoughts? Also this. Link to video

Mmmh... You can use Hardest but it will requires verification since it's from SRAM But if you use easy , you have 99% of chance to go on vault :P
Current: Rayman 3 maybe? idk xD Paused: N64 Rayman 2 (with Funnyhair) GBA SMA 4 : E Reader (With TehSeven) TASVideos is like a quicksand, you get in, but you cannot quit the sand

Start with the hardest available at power on.

You read something from last year which was already wrong.

Another thing related to movement. When you jump your speed stays at the top speed until you land. By adding an attack before landing into the mix you can actually move at little further. Starts at around 7 seconds. Link to video I still possibly will not return to TAS this from the begging unless I have someone else. Plus hunting down the values is harder on this game as they're all sectioned off. #1 Rolling Backwards. #2 Attack before landing. #3 Walking. #4 Walking after Jumps.

When TASing be sure to properly verify with Got4n and mine. Playback 25% speed: Left: v24 | Right: v23.6 (Got4n & Myself) Only bringing this up because arandomgameTASer was saying a method (won't say what it was) was faster than what Got4n & I did. When I went to verify it, it was actual several frames slower even though that the time itself was faster. The only reason it was faster was because of the loading being much, much faster. The other reason is because of VBA differences: The left is VBA-M subject to having worse loading times. The right is VBA.
