This is a 189 frame improvement over the previous Luigi run by Phil found here.
  • Improved levels 1-1, 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 5-1, and 8-1 by 21 frames each.
  • Improved levels 8-2, and 8-3 by 42 frames each.
  • Levels 1-2, 5-2, and 8-4 were unimproved.
However, I lost 21 frames on 4-4 because of the spawning position of Bowser and to the best of all my abilities I could not manipulate him by any means that i had thought of.
If it is discovered how to manipulate bowser into the same position that Phil had on his movie then you could retain the afforementioned 21 frames and save a total of 210 frames. Because I could not manipulate him and I couldn't save those frames, I went ahead and tricked the game into leaving the axe sitting there. This same problem arose on 8-4 with the first bowser, but because I didn't need to kill him I just ducked under him and lost 2 pixels. However, this did not affect the final frame count.
Thanks to klmz for his flagpole discovery and Phil's exceptional previous movie.

Hahaha, pulling off the flag trick on 4-1 (and to a lesser extent, the levels that followed) really grabbed my attention. I needed to say that first and foremost. I shouldn't be surprised at succeeding with a walljump, but as soon as I remembered the gap, I thought, "okay, let's see if he can manage it here... HA!" Just like the other two, old record smashed, surefire win, kudos to all, etc etc.
Kirby said so, so it must be true. ( >'.')>

Yes vote. Level 8-2 and 8-3 are improved amazingly. Luigi's runs are more flexible than Mario's. I wonder if Mario could catch up with his brother this time.
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do

Someone needs to use this flagpole trick on the warpless runs as well...
Why, oh, why do I even <i>try</i> to understand my own species?

The trick seems to help Luigi more than Mario. 42 frames gained in both 8-1 and 8-2 because of that.

1800! Also, yes.
I think i've watched about 70% of the TAS's on this site... It's become one of the first sites I check daily for updates. I'm going to start posting more.
