Indeed, Randil has outdone himself this year.
Also, I would like to nominate adelikat for the most universal player (did almost all systems), and Xipo and Cardboard for the breakthrough performance/most productive newcomers.
I noticed a few of the team movies were not on all the author's lists, and some were. Super Demo World-15, River City Ransom, and Legend of Zelda are examples that aren't, Mega Man X2 is an example of one that is.
You're also jumping the gun, we have a couple weeks left in 2007 ;)
I have a list of TAS (rather than TASer) award category ideas but I will post those in a separate thread so the discussion doesn't congeal.
Edit:
Also, if there is interest, we could nominate TASers of the year for NES, SNES, Gens, GBx, N64, and SMS.

I have always supported TASvideos awards and I definitely think there are lots of people interested in this. Your idea + best runs for each console and most entertaining run for each console. I think that would be sufficient as I dont think we need more categories (remember how it went last time? :( )
Edit: Im so sorry for editing your post JXQ, it was a terrible mistake by me :) (sticky icky fingers).

Here's the deal.
ziggy is the "rookie of the year". AoS, HoD and Simon's Quest are no pushovers in no way.
Also I find it hilarious that the guy with the most TASes are the "better" one.
Quantity over quality? That being said, Randil has been doing many good TASes this year but adelikat has done much better ones. No offense against Randil here, but... well you know my opinion on many of your obscure game choices :D
Of course this is just my opinion in both matters.
Cheya.
EDIT: Italic:ed for added respect
Haha Angerfist, I was confused for a second :)
Ok, well I'll just post my idea in this thread then, and see where it goes.
Here are some sample categories that might be interesting for some people:
Speedy TASes of 2007
Glitchy TASes of 2007
Innovative TASes of 2007
Lucky TASes of 2007
Funny TASes of 2007
And by system,
GBx TASes of 2007
Genesis TASes of 2007
N64 TASes of 2007
NES TASes of 2007
SMS TASes of 2007
SNES TASes of 2007
You could also do TASers by system, then maybe do some unofficial vote and have a TAS and TASer of 2007 overall.
I actually wrote all this down a few weeks ago, but won't share my nominations yet :)

Does "could have potentially (if he wasn't distractible) made many runs in 2007" count? :-D pretty please?
Oh, and by excluding 2006, you also cut the number of movies I have by 50%. That makes me sad.
Does Mukki get the default "best N64 TASer" for having 2 published N64 runs, more than anyone else? Oh, and AKA you spelled Chamale wrong.

Fabian, you run your own "me, me, me, all about me" IRC channel, where the #1 rule is to talk about Fabian, and you also created an "ask Fabian" thread where because you are "the most down to earth and have the best opinions" (not exact words) people can ask you questions and receive answers.
You are in no position to be accusing me of anything.
I'm not accusing you of anything. I'm saying that nobody except you cares about whatever non-accomplishments of yours you want to talk about. If people were reading your blog though, they probably would. This isn't your blog though.
Anyway, please respect the thread or it will be locked.

Who obsoleted the largest number of existing movies?
Who made the largest amount of movies for new games?
Who took the highest amount of frames away from the site by obsoleting movies?
Who was it!
Also, some sponsors are asking what is the total number of rerecords wasted this year?

That certainly sounds like an accusation to me.
Does respecting the thread mean not insulting klmz's work? I don't think he's a "rising star with spectacular movies" either, but you really took a stab at him, he found a trick in an old NES movies that's been unimproved for a long time, and with his movie came bursts of new SMB1 movies.
So yeah, take a step down from the high and mighty chair sometime. The oxygen is thinner up on that seat you know, you can breathe easier down here with the rest of us.
Since you no longer come to the main IRC channel and instead prefer to run your own little elitist groups, you don't notice that lots of people make fun of me all the time because of how unproductive I am (in a humorous, affectionate way). I also don't have a blog, so stop pretending that I do.
Also, you're not a moderator, so it does little to constantly repeat "please respect thread or it's locked blabbity blah" every time someone says something that you don't like.
I don't really know if these things are good for awards though... aren't you supposed to have several nominees for an award, and then let people vote who of these will get it? If you ask a too specific question, it won't be anything people could give their opinions about.
Well, anyhoo.
Is there a category for like, best newbie of the year? Sort of like, for the people who submitted their very first movie or something. That would be a neat category, but seeing as it would be tricky to look up all the first timers, it seems unlikely.
Also, it's true that it isn't quite the end of the year yet. I'm actually nearly finished my Lady Sia run, so I might make it in time to at least submit it. Though I also have a feeling I probably won't finish quite in time. I'm not gonna rush though. Don't rush your TAS right? Also, even if I were to finish it in time, it would be unlikely that a voted decision would be made so quickly.
I'll be interested to see the results of this. Do you get like, a trophy for being #1 in a category? XD
I lack double standards? Well that's reassuring.
I don't think I insulted klmz's work to be honest. I definitely don't think I "took a stab at him". I said that finding one glitch in one game doesn't make one a breakthrough performer/productive newcomer. I even added that it was just my opinion.
While it's true that I for the most part only hang out in groups of people I like, I don't want you to think I'm not aware of how much people make fun of you, comicalflop, because I am. I'm also sure that you're aware that the person who tends to bring it up most often is you, but that is neither here nor there.
Sigh, come on. This part of the forum finally opens up a bit, and people start squabbling? Can't people just learn to keep their "witty" comments to themselves? Although let's face it, if it wasn't for the "blog" comment, some other argument would have popped up anyways about who did or didn't deserve to win a title that's only for bragging and cheap self-satisfaction.
AKA, please double check your list a lot more closely. You missed at least the following movies:
Added [917] NES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (USA) by adelikat in 16:33.5 (fcm, avi)
Added [924] NES Tetris (USA) by Baxter in 03:29.67 (fcm, avi)
The 2 SMB2 movies are not listed under Cardboard's name, only adelikat's
Didn't credit Fabian with SDW
Probably more...
Also these additions will rearrange the list somewhat.
<Swordless> Go hug a tree, you vegetarian (I bet you really are one)
I nominate Baxter for best puzzle TASer. Also, JXQ for best phil bitch'er at'er.
I'm sciencing as fast as I can !
